Grabe lang! 5 days lang pala ang binibigay na grace period sa mga asong nahuli. If walang nag-claim sa kanila or if they don't get adopted, the pound will put them down once that grace period is up. Regardless if healthy or rehomeable yung dog.
Not sure lang sa time frame ng ibang pound, I heard sa iba umaabot ng 1 year.
Yung mga asong nahuhuli, naghihintay na lang na maipa-euthanize if walang mag-adopt.
Karamihan sa mga aso dun, nahuhuli sa kalsada. Pero marami rin na sinurrender ng mga owner nila because they don't want them anymore, because they're old, ill, deaf, have cataracts, or just bad teeth, or lumps and bumps, which might be cancer, and the owners can't afford the tests, or don't want to pay for them kaya their last resort is to surrender their dogs sa pound. It's so sad, really.
Though legal naman for the city pound to euthanize unclaimed animals after the holding period, pero nakakalungkot pa rin kung iisipin.
Kapag pupunta ka palang dog pound dapat ready ka emotionally, kasi sobrang heartbreaking if you know you can't save them all. Ang sakit sa puso makita yung mga mata nilang parang nagmamakaawa. (If you are a pet lover, you'll understand me. If not, you might think I'm being overly dramatic, but that's okay.)
Birthday ko tomorrow and decided to celebrate it na lang sa pound. Will try my best na makapag-rescue ng dogs, makahanap ng potential adopters. Ready na ulit ako masaktan bukas, hay.

(M22) have been with my gf (F23) for 3 months and although we've had minor issues we haven't had any major arguments until yesterday.
So we went out for the day trip to a local city, cities aren't my thing at all but she wanted to explore so i was happy to go. The morning was great and despite a few frustrations we were both enjoying it. Towards the afternoon I was ready to go home but she wanted to see another attraction and look around some charity shops. She insisted the attraction was free and so we walked 30 minutes. On getting there it wasn't free and she didn't like the look of it so we went back to city centre. At this point I was tired and we agreed to get a train at 5 20 and she wanted to go to one or two shops which turned into about 10 (all shops we have in our own city, just looking for nothing in particular), I reminded her of the time but she always just said one more shop and we missed our train with the next one being in an hour so by that point I was pretty checked out and just tired. She was upset with me for being a mood and we didn't talk the whole way back. I message her good morning and see that she blocked my number but she did reach out through Instagram to explain her feelings.
Now I am fully aware I was a moody arse by the end of the day and that wasn't fair to her and I regret ruining the day for her. However I feel I have justification for being upset. Honestly some outside perspective would be appreciated.
TL;DR: gf upset with me for being in a mood, I was upset because I was tired and felt like I wasn't being listened to. Unsure whether I had a right to be upset or if I just spoilt my girls day out.

2023.06.02 17:14 Stepbackrelax Started seeing life as a video game. It actually... really helped.
I love games and have always and will always be a gamer. These days the HUD is pretty good; I can pull up my phone and it has a minimap and a bunch of useful menus. Video games are great because they helped me organize the chaos of everyday life into categories I was familiar with. In the last 6 months, I moved by myself (twice), spent all the time alone in different cities, treated patients regularly 40 hours a week, and completed my doctorate in physical therapy. This would've been impossible for me several years ago. But in my mind, I completed multiple side quests and finished the tutorial to become a level 1 healer :). It turns out real life's tutorial is pretty long and becoming level 1 takes a lot of effort, but once you are level 1, you get your skills and you can use them to help people and that is great. Maybe someday I'll prestige class and do a residency. Posting this in case it helps anyone else.
Reframing tasks as side quests at the beginning of the day really helped me get things done. If I need to do laundry and groceries over the weekend, I put a mental note.
Quest: Laundry day.
-Required items: full clothing hamper, quarters, tide pod.
-Duration: ~2 hours.
-Reward: clean clothes and exp.
Quest: Go grocery shopping.
-Required items: reusable grocery bag, wallet, phone for minimap.
-Duration: Variable.
-Required objective: Pick 5 healthy meals.
-Optional objective: Pick a snack.
-Reward: Fridge full of food and exp.
Quests are a good way to both organize information and see the task objectively. Everything you need to do gives experience. Accumulate enough experience and the tasks become easier. Plus, you get to phrase the rewards as things you really want.
For general career stuff:
Your education and training = The tutorial. Variable in duration depending on your desired career.
Level 1 job class = entry level in your field.
Medicine/ healthcare = healer, Tech = mage, and there are more obvious ones like musician = bard.
You can have job changes and multiclass too. Certain paths have prestige classes like residencies and fellowships.
Maintain your body to keep it at full health and free of negative conditions.

Pittsburgher here! Wife and I are doing an anniversary weekend trip to yāallās city mainly for the zoo. Our first date 14 years ago was at the Pittsburgh zoo so, we try to visit as many zoos as possible when able.
Weāll be getting in Friday night and staying downtown until Sunday afternoon, weāll have a car or can Uber as well. Saturday is our zoo day and we plan on getting there when they open but not sure how long that will take. Any suggestions for a nice spot to grab dinner and drinks Saturday night, money isnāt a concern. Also, will take advice on coffee shops, breakfast spot, lunch spot, and any other activities yāall think we should do during our short trip. Thanks in advance!

Overview
Our main guideline to leave the "meta" of pure Vanilla survival as unaltered as possible (for a public server).
The only 3 plugins that interfere with this are:
GriefPrevention, a sleep voting plugin, and player item shops for trading. That means as many features from other plugins you know from other servers are absent by design and won't be added. There are two ranks "new" and "player", they do not give any benefits. You can not buy "power" for real money here and we have no adminshops. Everything on the map was build and farmed in survival.

What you have read so far sounds like your cup of tea? Well then you may fit right in. Laid back rules, a close knit community, having some events from time to time, and there is always something you can help with. Staff and ohter players are usually available to help you. Need help digging? Just died far away? Raid an Ocean Monument? No problem! We also have a Hermitcraft-like shop area for players using a trade shop plugin.Gameplay
This is supposed to feel like a vanilla server. The default currency is diamonds. This is not enforced its just what everyone uses. No warps, you have to walk, fly by Elytra, or set up infrastructure such as piston bolts or blue ice highways. You can focus on long term projects, take your time, because we NEVER RESET the map. Megabases welcome. Leave for months, pick right up where you left. In +7 years time we built a lot of farms and infrastructure. This makes it a lot easier to get going early in the game, especially for endgame players. But fear not, there is always need for expanding upon whats already there.
The spawn city is protected. Areas there are released for community builds. Outside the city you can build your own base(s). You will get more claimblocks during play.Specs & Plugins
Hosted in Germany with 128GB Ram, a Intel i9-9900k, and 1TB NVMe SSD; the server runs on Paper. Regarding updates we don't always run the latest version but we plan to update to every major release eventually. In case an update brings a big change in world generation (e.g. 1.18) we delete chunks that have been loaded less than 5 minutes. Meaning someone likely just passed by while exploring.
For land claiming we use GriefPrevention, which lets you protect areas you selected with a golden shovel. You can allow certain or all players to build and or access chests/buttons, on your claim. It also protects your claims and the worlds surface from creepers. Then there is also a chest shop plugin. You can use iron nuggets to create villager-like trades. You can do this anywhere, but its recommended to do this in the shopping area or your claim. Harbor is a plugin which skips the night, if 20% or more players are in bed. Lastly there is one that lets you rotate Glazed Terracotta.
Additionally we have some datapacks and tweaks: Ghasts don't break blocks. You can silent mobs by naming them "silent" (undo with "unsilent"). Your 1st kill of the Enderdragon gets you an Elytra. Craftable Enchanted Golden Apples. Hermitcraft posable Armorstands. Some recipes have been tweaked (bone blocks directly from bones, recolor glass,... )

Me (24f) and my friend (24F) live 4 hours apart. Weāve visited each other a couple of times over the last 2-3 years
Whenever she comes to my apartment I plan ahead, asking in advance what she likes to eat, stocking my fridge more than usual, etc. Then when she arrives I make it clear to her that she has free access to the kitchen/bathroom and to just ask if she needs anything. Depending how long sheās staying, Iāll clear space for her in my closet. Basically, Iām very mindful about making her feel welcome/at home, especially because she can be really shy and doesnāt like to feel like sheās ābotheringā anyone. One time she forgot a towel and it took 2 days of her air-drying in the bathroom before I figured out she didnāt bring one and offered it to her myself
But when I stay at her place, to put it bluntly, she makes me feel like Iām bothering her as much as she fears she might be bothering me. Like if I stay at her place for 3 days, sheāll offer me food maybe once. If I say Iām hungry or ask for food, she tells me she doesnāt really have much in the fridge. I usually end up ordering in, or she tells me I can go grocery shopping if I want. Itās just really weird to me, to invite someone to your home and then tell them to go buy the food theyāll be eating while theyāre there. Iām not expecting a banquet but at least some acknowledgement that human beings need food would be nice
Other than that, she just doesnāt really āactā like Iām there. Sheāll suddenly disappear mid-day for a 3 hour nap and not even tell me. Or call someone else on the phone for hours just to chat. She rarely plans anything for us to do together in her city. Usually if I donāt want to spend my entire visit scrolling through my phone on her sofa, Iām the one who has to organise the plans
So one of our mutual friends who lives in her city is getting married soon and I booked a hotel. My friend asked why I donāt just stay with her and I decided to be honest and told her that sheās not a great host and she makes me feel unwelcome. She seemed upset by this, even though I donāt really know how this could come as a shock considering Iāve mentioned how unwelcome I feel at her place more than once, but I think she brushed it off. In response, she told that sheās dealing with money issues and work stress, which I get, but I told her that despite that it seems like sheās not the type of person whoās mindful about whether their guest is having a good time or not and Iād rather just have my own space. She said I was insensitive and now things are strained between us. I couldāve just not said anything but if my friend was unhappy with me, I would want to know

Army troops were deployed to parts of the Senegalese capital Dakar on Friday as the city braced for more unrest after a jail sentence for opposition leader Ousmane Sonko sparked one of the deadliest days of violence in the country's recent memory.
Nine people were killed in clashes between riot police and Sonko supporters on Thursday after he was sentenced to two years for corrupting youth.
The opposition says the verdict, which could prevent Sonko from running in elections next year, was politically motivated.
Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar was the epicentre of Thursday's violence, with protesters setting buses alight and throwing rocks at riot police, who responded by firing tear gas.
Thursday's riot was the latest bout in months of protests in Senegal, long considered one of West Africa's strongest democracies, sparked by Sonko's court case but also over concerns that President Macky Sall will try to bypass the two-term limit and run again in February elections.
Sonko's PASTEF party has called in a statement for citizens to "Stop all activity and take to the streets".

This is the plan do far - any recommendations for other areas to visit/shop in?
Day 1 arrive from Scotland so will just be checking in - Hotel in Ikebukuro. Will just explore area and find food
Day 2- Akihabara will spend HOURS there
Day 3 - Yokohama hoping to go to World Porters and maybe Red Brick Warehousr- ideas?
Day 4 - Nokano Broadway - all day as lots to see
Day 5 - travel to Osaka and staying overnight near USJ
Day 6 - USJ
Day 7 - Shibuya will try for Shibuya sky and potentially Pepper Parlour Cafe
Day 8 - Odaiba and Diver City
Day 9 - Nokano Broadway to buy more stuff
Day 10 - Akihabara for more Anime fun
Will be visiting Sunshine City a lot as we are in Ikebukuro and we will be going to Kamen Rider Diner (teens fave show).
Have left lunches/dinners mostly flexible as will find places as we go.
Will be using JR pass as that should cover majority of travel but will get Suica cards as well and a portable WiFi.

We'd like to hit some outlets for some shopping specifically for some deals for my two teenagers. We're staying in Hawthorne and do have a car with us. I'm leaning towards Ontario mills, but have read good things about some of the other outlets like Citadel and San Clemente. Is The Cabazon Outlets worth the drive from us? Or are there other places that are better and closer to Hawthorne?
