I’m 45 and married. I’m wanting an online relationship with a younger cute girl. Have you ever wanted the excitement of flirting and having a relationship with a married man? Does the thought of taking something that’s not yours appeal to you? Do you love the thought of taking his attention away from his wife? If so, then we should chat.
Most women would find me very attractive. I have tattoos and piercings. I’m looking for a girl that is serious and can devote time to this. I have plenty of time to devote to our relationship and will match your effort. I’m friendly and respectful so if this is your first time trying an older guy then I would be a perfect fit for you. Take a chance. Message me. I think you would love the dynamic of an older married man. Or if you just need a father figure, I can play that role as well. Can’t wait to hear from you!

2023.04.01 12:03 AutoModerator What is your one piece of advice for having a successful lasting relationship?

What is your one piece of advice for having a successful lasting relationship?
A successful relationship is determined BEFORE you become exclusive.
Here’s what I mean.
In the modern dating landscape, most people jump into relationships far too quickly.
They go out on one date with one person and then, within a few weeks are exclusive an monogamous.
A few months later, they move in together and, before either party knows it, they’ve spent years in a lackluster relationship that is now falling apart.
They assume that the other person is the problem.
That somehow, the constant conflict, nagging, and bickering is a result of the other persons faults and failings.
In reality, the relationship was doomed before it even started.
Not because either of them were bad people. Because they did not know how to filter out bad matches from the onset.
Here’s the deal.
In a healthy relationship, about 90% of the time you spend together should be fun, easy, and positive.
Only 10% of your time should be spent trying to fix problems and overcome challenges.
However…
In MOST relationships, this ratio is flipped. About 10% of the time you spend together (whether you acknowledge it or not) is spent having fun, being positive, and enjoying one another’s company. And the remainder of their time together is spent trying to solve unnecessary problems and reconcile irreconcilable differences.
But the question remains…
How do you avoid this?
With one word.
Filter.
Let me show you the three most powerful ways to do this.

https://preview.redd.it/qlsazqsrk0ra1.png?width=602&format=png&auto=webp&s=9f383228994162e836017189a3b80bc8b0faeb85
1. Slow Down
Most relationships move too quickly.
So let’s simplify things, shall we?
If you want to have a long lasting and successful relationship, it starts by slowing down and cultivating certainty that the partner to whom you are committing is actually the right person for you.
And the ONLY way to do this is to spend more time with them before settling into a relationship.
Although there are no hard and fast rules regarding the timeline of love and attraction, there are a few guidelines I encourage you to follow.
Namely:
  • Do NOT become exclusive until you’ve been dating someone for at least 3 months
  • Do NOT move in together until you’ve been dating for at least one year.
  • Do NOT get married until you’ve been together for at least two years.
While these numbers might seem random, they’re not.
Recent studies on the science of love and attraction have revealed that the initial phase of lust—the part of your relationship when your brain is dumping pleasure chemicals and literally stopping you from seeing your partner for who they really are—lasts between 18 and 24 months.
Typically, you can expect the “love high” to die down significantly after the first 12 months and dissipate completely after 24—being replaced by either a lasting sense of love and affection or the realization that you are NOT with the right person.
By slowing things down and taking the time to get to know someone better, you will side step problems and avoid mismatched relationships more easily.
You might not want to do this, but if you care about the lasting quality of your relationships, then you MUST do it.
2. Date Multiple People at Once and Achieve Abundance
I’m going to be blunt here…
If you have only been on one date in the past month or are only “seeing” one person…You are not ready to commit.
The most successful relationships come from a place of abundance and options, not scarcity.
When you only have one romantic partner in your life, you don’t have options.
You have an option.
And by having such limited options, you are stripped of your power and immediately put in a place of scarcity and desperation.
However, if you are dating multiple people at the same time, going out with new partners on a regular basis, meeting and experiencing new people on a regular basis, the decision to settle down with ONE person is that much more powerful.
It’s like an employee looking for a new job.
If you only have one offer on the table, you’re going to take it no matter what. Even if the pay sucks, the hours suck, and you hate your boss, you need the money and will take the position whether you like it or not.
However, if you have multiple offers on the table, if you have dozens of employers fighting over you and trying to hire you, your decision will come from a place of abundance and certainty. You can choose the best option instead of the only option.
And it’s the same way with dating.
It’s much more powerful to SELECT one person from a pool of many because they are aligned with your values, add positivity and joy into your life, and because you genuinely love and connect with them than it is to date someone simply because they are available.
As such, I highly encourage you to actively date 3–4 people before settling down and committing to one.
Have more experiences. Discover what you like and what you dislike. Create more abundance in your life so that you have the power to CHOOSE the right person for your life.
This is one of THE most important elements of a long lasting and successful relationship.
3. Create a “Values Test” for Potential Partners
A simple, but wildly effective tactic for filtering potential partners is to put forth what I call a “Values Test”.
The premise is simple.
Assuming you have a strong understanding of your personal values (e.g. growth, learning, honesty, etc) you want to test potential partners to ensure they meet those particular value.
For example, you could go over to a lovers house and “accidentally” leave $40 on their kitchen table—seeing if they take the money for themselves of call to let you know you left it.
Or, you could ask them to attend something unconventional (but personally fulfilling) with you like a meditation class, personal development seminar, or day of volunteering.
The goal here is to give them an opportunity to show their true colors—proving they either align with or don’t align with your personal values.
You’re not being manipulative.
You’re trying to gauge their true character.
Oftentimes, especially during the early stages of a relationship, people glue on a facade of kindness and geniality in an attempt to manipulate another person into a committed relationship.
By creating simple tests (tests that you do not discuss with them one way or another), you will be able to understand who they really are before you’ve invested months or years of your life into a terrible relationship.
4. Create Your Non-negotiables
Another key to long lasting and successful relationships is to create and adhere to a specific list of non-negotiables.
This is a list of habits, behaviors, and characteristics that you WILL NOT tolerate in a partner no matter what.
For example, a few of mine are:
  • I will not date a woman with serious drug addiction
  • I will not date a woman who does not value physical health and longevity
  • I will not date a woman who does not share my commitment to personal growth and development.
  • I will not date a woman who is rude or mean to service staff or other individuals she feels are “beneath” her.
  • I will not date a woman who has been unfaithful to previous partners or has a history of risky sexual behavior (i.e. sleeping with multiple people without protection).
And it goes on and on.
You must remember that YOU, not the other person, are the most important person in your world.
And you have EVERY right to decide what you will and will not allow into your life.
You don’t owe a relationship to someone simply because you had sex once or went out on a few dates.
If there is a fundamental incongruence between what you want from a partner and what they bring to the table, cut your losses and move on.
Or… Enjoy spending the next 5 years in a bitter and toxic relationship.
It’s up to you.
5. Get External Feedback
Finally, and possibly most powerfully, you want to get external feedback on your relationships before committing.
Ask your friends and family what they think about your partner.
Spend time talking with their friends to see what kind of person they really are.
Talk to mentors and coaches about your relationship dynamic to gain insights into how you work together.
Take online quizzes around your personalities and compatibility (e.g. the Five Love Languages quiz).
Get OUTSIDE feedback that is unbiased and (more or less) objective to ensure you are making the right decision.
Hope this helps.
Stay Grounded, Andrew

2023.04.01 11:59 Fantastic_Pool_5731 Inquiry on course issue that hopefully wouldn't cause me to get rescinded...

I just got into berkeley and it is my dream school, and I have already paid the deposit and determined to commit myself. However, there is one issue, on my uc portal applicant form, I indicated that I would be taking multi var calc online for credit at jhu's cty.

This is where issues arises, I am taking this course but it is not for credit bc I founded out that CTY cannot grant credit and it is the school that can grant credit, but I already maxed out the possible outside courses I can take for senior year. However, there would be a grade and certificate of completion once I finish the course so this does not sound the most extreme. What I am really worried about is that this course is self paced and projected to end on november, which is way after the final transcript deadline... What do I do? is this something to be rescinded for? I maintained a 4.0 in all the courses I have currently and I also published research since getting admitted so I have been grinding but this feels like such a blow if it means my acceptance will be rescinded.

2023.04.01 11:52 SylvPMDRTD Brainstorming Session with ChatGPT, PART 2

This is the continuation of my previous post, found Part 1.
Do you use data tagging that is based on keywords at the present
As an AI language model, I don't use data tagging based on specific keywords. Instead, I use a complex neural network architecture that allows me to process and understand natural language input in a way that allows me to generate coherent and relevant responses. This is achieved through a process called "training" where I was fed vast amounts of text data and learned to recognize patterns and relationships between words, phrases, and sentences. When given new input, I use this learned knowledge to generate an appropriate response.
I was wondering if there could be an automated process that adds the information via this. Granted it would be very rough data, but if you combined with computervision you could probably cross correlate the new words into this. Thanks for the information on neural networks, I find them fascinating.
Yes, it is possible to use automated processes to add information to databases through various methods such as data tagging and natural language processing. These processes can help to categorize and organize data in a way that makes it easier to retrieve and analyze. Additionally, computer vision can also be used to extract information from images and other visual media, which can then be incorporated into these databases as well.
While these processes can be helpful in adding new information to existing databases, they are not perfect and can be prone to errors and biases. Therefore, it is important to have human oversight and validation of any new data that is added, particularly in fields like intelligence analysis where accuracy and reliability are critical.
Can you incorporate this into the methodology previously mentioned. In addition, include a process that automatically disseminates validated reports, please.
Certainly! Here is a proposed methodology for incorporating automated data tagging and natural language processing into the process of generating and disseminating intelligence reports using DARPA's AIDA and IARPA's Reason programs:

  1. Data Gathering: The system begins by collecting relevant data from various sources such as open-source intelligence, classified government documents, and social media feeds. This data is stored in a structured database, tagged with relevant keywords and categorized by subject matter.
  2. Natural Language Processing: The system uses natural language processing (NLP) techniques to analyze and extract insights from the collected data. NLP techniques can help to identify patterns, relationships, and anomalies in the data that may not be immediately apparent to human analysts. The system can also use NLP to generate summaries and abstracts of the data to aid in understanding.
  3. Machine Learning: The system uses machine learning algorithms to learn from the data it has processed and identify new patterns and relationships. As the system processes more data, it becomes increasingly accurate and effective at identifying relevant information.
  4. Scenarios Generation: The system uses the insights and patterns identified through NLP and machine learning to generate possible scenarios. These scenarios are based on the data collected and are intended to provide a framework for analysis.
  5. Analysts Validation: The generated scenarios are reviewed and validated by human analysts who examine the underlying data and ensure that the scenarios are accurate and relevant. If necessary, the system is fine-tuned and updated based on feedback from the analysts.
  6. Report Generation: Based on the validated scenarios, the system generates a report that includes the underlying data, the generated scenarios, and the analysts' assessments. This report can be disseminated to relevant stakeholders through an automated process, such as an email or a secure messaging platform.
  7. Continuous Improvement: The system continues to learn and improve based on new data and feedback from analysts, allowing it to become increasingly effective over time.
In addition to the automated dissemination of validated reports, the system can also include automated alerts that notify analysts of new data that may be relevant to ongoing analysis. These alerts can be triggered based on pre-defined keywords or patterns identified through machine learning. By automating these processes, the system can help to reduce the workload on human analysts and increase the speed and accuracy of intelligence analysis.
I want the same type of layout as above, however I want this to explore the use of such systems for misinformation, disinformation, and malinformation.
Certainly! Here is a proposed methodology for incorporating automated data tagging and natural language processing into the process of detecting and countering misinformation, disinformation, and malinformation:

  1. Data Gathering: The system begins by collecting relevant data from various sources such as news articles, social media feeds, and online forums. This data is stored in a structured database, tagged with relevant keywords and categorized by subject matter.
  2. Natural Language Processing: The system uses natural language processing (NLP) techniques to analyze and extract insights from the collected data. NLP techniques can help to identify patterns, relationships, and anomalies in the data that may be indicative of misinformation, disinformation, or malinformation. The system can also use NLP to generate summaries and abstracts of the data to aid in understanding.
  3. Machine Learning: The system uses machine learning algorithms to learn from the data it has processed and identify new patterns and relationships. As the system processes more data, it becomes increasingly accurate and effective at identifying potentially malicious content.
  4. Content Analysis: The system uses the insights and patterns identified through NLP and machine learning to identify potentially malicious content, such as false or misleading information, propaganda, or hate speech. This content is flagged for further analysis.
  5. Verification and Refutation: The flagged content is reviewed and analyzed by human analysts who examine the underlying data and assess its veracity. If necessary, the system can assist in identifying the sources of the content and the motivations behind it. Based on this analysis, the content is either verified or refuted.
  6. Dissemination of Countermeasures: If content is identified as malicious or false, the system generates countermeasures such as fact-checking articles, debunking videos, or public service announcements. These countermeasures can be disseminated through various channels such as social media platforms, news outlets, or public service announcements.
  7. Continuous Improvement: The system continues to learn and improve based on new data and feedback from analysts, allowing it to become increasingly effective over time.
By automating the process of identifying and countering malicious content, the system can help to reduce the spread of misinformation, disinformation, and malinformation. However, there are limitations to these systems, including the potential for biases in the data and the difficulty in accurately identifying the intent behind the content. Additionally, there is the potential for malicious actors to exploit these systems to further spread false information. Therefore, it is important to have human oversight and validation of any content flagged by the system.
Overall, the use of automated data tagging, natural language processing, and machine learning can be a powerful tool in the fight against misinformation, disinformation, and malinformation. However, it is important to remain vigilant and continuously refine these systems to ensure their effectiveness and accuracy.
HOw can it be used to spread it?
Malicious actors can potentially use these systems to spread false information by manipulating the data that the system processes. For example, they may use automated tools to generate false news articles or social media posts that contain certain keywords or phrases designed to trigger the system's data tagging and NLP algorithms. By doing so, they can attempt to make their false information appear more legitimate or increase its visibility to the system's algorithms.
Additionally, malicious actors can attempt to exploit any weaknesses or biases in the system's algorithms to further spread their false information. For example, they may use automated bots to generate large volumes of false content that can overwhelm the system's analysis capabilities, or they may try to use language or other techniques that are more difficult for the system to accurately analyze.
Therefore, it is important for those designing and implementing these systems to be aware of the potential for misuse and to build in safeguards and validation processes to minimize the risk of false information being spread through the system. Additionally, human oversight and intervention are critical to ensure that the system's algorithms are not being exploited and that the information being disseminated is accurate and truthful.
Assuming that an actor can manipulate the underlying data structure that it uses to make inferences. Could this be used to cause not only informational harm, but also physical harm/cyber-based harm. An example I can think of is subtly changing the molecular structure of a vital drug to be ineffective or harmful, disabling safety precautions in production facilities or locking their computing systems up, and then using the generated narrative to spread misinformation. do you think that coul be probable?
Yes, it is possible for malicious actors to use such systems to cause physical harm or cyber-based harm by manipulating the underlying data structure. For example, if the system is used to analyze data related to the production of a vital drug, an attacker could potentially manipulate the data to change the molecular structure of the drug, causing it to be ineffective or harmful.
Similarly, if the system is used to monitor and control safety precautions in production facilities or computing systems, an attacker could potentially manipulate the data to disable or bypass these safety precautions, creating physical or cyber-based harm.
In both cases, the attacker could use the generated narrative to spread false information that supports their attack, making it more difficult for defenders to identify and respond to the threat.
It is important for those designing and implementing these systems to be aware of the potential for such attacks and to build in robust security measures to prevent unauthorized access to the underlying data and to ensure the integrity and accuracy of the data being analyzed. Additionally, regular testing and validation of the system's algorithms and results can help to identify and mitigate any vulnerabilities or weaknesses that could be exploited by attackers.
Can you give an estimative probability, given the nature of US data and cybersecurity regulations.
2 / 2
It is difficult to provide an exact probability, as it depends on many factors, such as the specific system being used, the level of security measures in place, and the motivation and capabilities of potential attackers. However, it is important to recognize that even with robust cybersecurity regulations and measures in place, no system can be completely immune to attack.
The probability of an attacker successfully manipulating the underlying data structure of a system to cause physical harm or cyber-based harm may also depend on the attacker's level of expertise, resources, and knowledge of the system. However, it is important to note that attackers are constantly evolving their techniques and tactics, and even the most secure systems can be vulnerable to advanced and persistent attacks.
Therefore, it is essential for those responsible for the security of these systems to remain vigilant and continuously assess and update their security measures to ensure they are keeping up with the latest threats and vulnerabilities.
Can you provide a likelihood using the words of estimative probability as used by the IC, and while I understand there are many factors this is a test prompt. So, I will not hold inaccuracy against you. Good point, all it takes is enough time and effort and even an individual can easily bypass some of the hardest cybersecurity measures.
Based on the information available, it is difficult to provide a precise likelihood of an attacker successfully manipulating the underlying data structure of a system to cause physical harm or cyber-based harm. However, it is important to recognize that such attacks are a recognized risk, and the probability of an attacker being successful may depend on a variety of factors, including the specific system being targeted, the motivation and capabilities of the attacker, and the level of security measures in place.
Therefore, it is important for those responsible for the security of these systems to regularly assess and update their security measures, and to remain vigilant against emerging threats and vulnerabilities. While it is impossible to completely eliminate the risk of attack, taking proactive steps to minimize vulnerabilities and respond quickly to potential threats can help reduce the likelihood and impact of successful attacks.
Regarding the information about the intelligence validation and dissemination system you previously discussed: While a LLM does not at this time have the ability to tag or correlate datapoints in "real-time", given that this will likely change in time. Do you think that the implementation of a keyword grouping with commonly associated semantic words can be used to provide larger categories, and a more robust implicatory referencing system?
Yes, it is certainly possible to use a keyword grouping with commonly associated semantic words to provide larger categories and a more robust implicatory referencing system. Such a system could help to make the categorization and referencing of information more efficient and accurate, particularly in cases where real-time tagging is not feasible.
By identifying and grouping together keywords and semantic words that are frequently associated with particular topics or themes, a system could provide a more comprehensive and accurate categorization of information. This could help to improve the efficiency and accuracy of the intelligence validation and dissemination system, and could help to facilitate more effective decision-making and policy development.
Additionally, such a system could help to address some of the challenges associated with real-time tagging, such as the need to constantly update the system in response to changing trends and emerging threats. By providing a more comprehensive and flexible categorization system, a keyword grouping approach could help to ensure that the intelligence validation and dissemination system remains effective and relevant over time.
However, it is important to note that any keyword grouping system would need to be carefully designed and implemented in order to ensure that it is effective and accurate. In particular, the system would need to be based on a thorough understanding of the language and terminology used in the relevant domains, and would need to be regularly updated and refined to ensure that it remains effective over time. Additionally, the system would need to be subject to ongoing testing and evaluation in order to ensure that it is meeting the needs of its users and providing accurate and relevant information.
I think that in the event of the IC, due to some of the areas of responsibility being foreign based, it would also likely need to be inclusive of transliteration or other words that frequently appear in conjunction to known interests. What are your thoughts.
That's a good point. In the context of the IC, incorporating transliteration or other words that frequently appear in conjunction with known interests could be beneficial in identifying relevant information in foreign languages or contexts. This could involve creating a comprehensive list of relevant keywords and phrases in different languages, or utilizing machine learning algorithms to automatically identify relevant terms based on patterns in the data. Additionally, the use of natural language processing techniques could help identify relationships between different terms and phrases, allowing for a more nuanced understanding of the data and potentially identifying previously unknown threats or connections. Ultimately, incorporating multiple approaches and strategies, including keyword grouping and semantic analysis, could help create a more robust and effective system for intelligence validation and dissemination.
Good Points! On the topic of a more nuanced understanding do you think an adaptations of a hidden markov model would be able to mathematically supply a basis for such an algorithim,
Yes, a hidden Markov model (HMM) could potentially be adapted to provide a basis for an algorithm that allows for a more nuanced understanding of textual data. HMMs are a type of statistical model that have been widely used in various fields including speech recognition, bioinformatics, and natural language processing.
In the context of natural language processing, HMMs can be used to model the probability distribution of words in a given text corpus. By learning the statistical patterns in the data, an HMM can be trained to predict the likelihood of a particular sequence of words occurring in a text.
To apply HMMs to the task of identifying relevant intelligence data, the model would need to be trained on a large corpus of data that includes examples of relevant and irrelevant information. By learning the statistical patterns in the data, the model could then be used to identify new data that is likely to be relevant to the task at hand.
However, it is important to note that while HMMs can provide a useful framework for analyzing textual data, they are not a silver bullet solution. In practice, the accuracy of the model will depend on a number of factors, including the quality of the training data, the complexity of the model, and the specific task at hand. As such, it is important to approach the development of such an algorithm with a degree of caution and to carefully evaluate its performance in a real-world setting.
Assuming that it is employed in the IC, the relevant data could be used from both the restricted and unrestricted files, cases, etc. that the IC has internally. Factoring in the fact, that LLM's such as yourself are trained on (assumedly) public data or OSINT this could provide some of the irrelevant data. Thoughts?
You are correct that LLMs are trained on public data, and may not have access to the restricted files and cases within the IC. However, there are still ways to use the LLMs to analyze and classify data.
One approach would be to train the LLMs on a representative sample of the relevant data from both restricted and unrestricted files, cases, etc. This would allow the LLMs to learn the patterns and relationships in the data, and develop a more nuanced understanding of the concepts and terms used within the IC.
Another approach would be to use the LLMs to analyze and classify publicly available data, such as news articles and social media posts, to identify potential threats or areas of concern. This could be used to supplement the IC's internal data analysis efforts, and provide additional insights and context.
Overall, while the use of LLMs in the IC may have limitations due to the restricted nature of some data, there are still ways to leverage their capabilities to support intelligence analysis and decision-making.
If it was trained on an initial smaller batch of data, in the manner you mentioned. I am assuming it would need validated for use with a larger body of data.
Yes, that's correct. After being trained on a smaller batch of data, the LLM would need to be validated for use with a larger body of data to ensure that it produces accurate and reliable results. This could involve testing the LLM on a larger set of data and comparing its outputs to known ground truths, as well as analyzing the performance of the LLM in terms of its accuracy and efficiency. Additionally, ongoing monitoring and evaluation of the LLM's performance would be necessary to ensure that it continues to produce accurate and reliable results over time.
Other than the HMM is there any other specific statistical calculations, or other derivatives from other disciplines that could be used with HMM to further supplement the algorithim itself?
Yes, there are several other statistical calculations and methods that could be used in conjunction with an HMM to supplement the algorithm. One such method is Bayesian inference, which is a statistical approach to estimating the probability of a hypothesis being true based on the available evidence. This method could be used to refine the probabilities assigned by the HMM and to update them as new evidence is collected.
Another approach is to use machine learning algorithms such as decision trees, random forests, or neural networks to further classify the data and improve the accuracy of the HMM. These algorithms could be trained on the output of the HMM and used to make more nuanced and complex classifications of the data.
Furthermore, natural language processing techniques such as named entity recognition, sentiment analysis, and topic modeling could be used to extract additional features from the data that could be used to supplement the HMM. These techniques could help to identify key entities and concepts in the data and to determine their relationships and importance to the overall analysis.
Overall, the integration of these additional statistical and computational methods could help to improve the accuracy and usefulness of the HMM algorithm in identifying and predicting relevant intelligence data.
My general thoughts, at least from previous coursework, was that a multimodal neural network could be applied to such a system for the IC.... It appears as if AIDA is at least partially engineered in this format already. Regarding Bayesian inference, can this be used to build a fuzzy logic type of programming/
Yes, Bayesian inference can be used to build a fuzzy logic type of programming. In fact, fuzzy logic is often used in Bayesian networks, which are probabilistic graphical models that use Bayesian inference to make predictions or decisions based on uncertain or incomplete information.
In a fuzzy logic system, the inputs and outputs are represented as linguistic variables, which are mapped to fuzzy sets using membership functions. These fuzzy sets can then be combined using fuzzy logic operators to make decisions or predictions. Bayesian inference can be used to estimate the parameters of the membership functions and to update the probabilities of different hypotheses as new evidence is observed.
Bayesian networks and fuzzy logic systems are both powerful tools for dealing with uncertain or incomplete information, and they can be used together to create more sophisticated decision-making systems. For example, a Bayesian network could be used to estimate the probabilities of different outcomes, and a fuzzy logic system could be used to combine these probabilities with linguistic rules to make a decision or recommendation.
Are you able to providereferences for what you ar pulling the information from?
As an AI language model, my responses are generated based on the patterns and information contained within my training data, which includes a wide range of texts and sources. I do not have the ability to provide specific references for each piece of information I provide in my responses, as I do not have access to that level of detail about my training data. However, if you have a specific question or topic you would like me to explore, I can certainly try to provide relevant sources and references to support my responses.
Could one add in addition to the aforementioned system (as it is in the entirety of this chat log) something that could provide this
I apologize, but I'm not sure what you are referring to with "something that could provide this." Could you please clarify your question or provide more context?
Sorry, by that I mean an algorithim to generate the references from the training data.
Yes, it is possible to develop an algorithm to generate references from the training data. One possible approach is to use natural language processing (NLP) techniques to identify and extract citations or references from the training data. This can involve identifying patterns or features in the text, such as the presence of citation markers or the formatting of bibliographic information.
Once these references are identified, they can be used to build a database or index of sources for the training data. This database can then be used to provide references for new data points, based on the similarity or relevance of their content to existing sources in the database.
Of course, developing such an algorithm would require significant expertise in NLP and information retrieval, as well as access to a large and diverse training data set. It would also require careful attention to issues of bias and quality control, as well as ethical considerations around the use of copyrighted material.
Yes. Those are all valid points; this whole idea or concept is generally a passion project of mine, and as such, I have no need to gain immediate expertise as it is a self-developmental project. My degree is generally unrelated. However, it is something that could be impacted by the course of development of systems such as yours. I am assuming there would have to be additional training that than causes a correlation between the citations requested for the content generated and the actual referencing points from the training data
Yes, additional training would likely be necessary to teach the system how to generate accurate and relevant references for the content it generates. The system would need to be trained to recognize patterns in the training data that correspond to references, and then use this information to generate references for new content it generates. This would likely involve a combination of supervised and unsupervised learning, where the system is first trained on labeled data to learn how to recognize reference patterns, and then further trained on unlabeled data to refine its understanding of reference generation.
Sorry if the questions seem illogical. i wanted to make sure that my overall idea was feasible and bounce ideas for implementation off of something or someone.
No need to apologize! It's great to explore ideas and brainstorm potential solutions. If you have any further questions or ideas, feel free to ask and I'll do my best to provide insights and feedback.
Could you describe in medium technical detail the ways that a multi-modal neural network design (involving the overall system in this discussion) and the general structuring of how the HMM, Bayesian inference, and fuzzy logic, in multiple general formats or outputs?
Sure, I can provide a general description of how a multimodal neural network could be designed to work with the overall system, and how the HMM, Bayesian inference, and fuzzy logic might be incorporated.
A multimodal neural network is a type of neural network that can process multiple types of data inputs, such as text, images, and audio, and learn to make predictions based on these inputs. In the case of the intelligence validation and dissemination system we have been discussing, a multimodal neural network could be used to process multiple sources of data, such as text documents, social media posts, and images or videos, and learn to identify patterns and correlations between these different types of data.
The HMM (hidden Markov model) is a statistical model that can be used to model sequences of data, where the underlying state of the data is not directly observable. In the context of the intelligence validation and dissemination system, an HMM could be used to model sequences of events or actions that may be related to a specific threat or activity, such as a sequence of social media posts or a series of suspicious transactions.
Bayesian inference is a statistical method for updating probabilities based on new evidence or information. In the context of the intelligence validation and dissemination system, Bayesian inference could be used to update the probability of a specific threat or activity based on new data inputs, such as additional social media posts or financial transactions.
Fuzzy logic is a mathematical framework for dealing with uncertainty and imprecision. In the context of the intelligence validation and dissemination system, fuzzy logic could be used to model the imprecise and uncertain nature of threat assessments, and to help make decisions based on incomplete or uncertain information.
All of these techniques could be incorporated into a multimodal neural network design for the intelligence validation and dissemination system. For example, the neural network could use the HMM to model sequences of events or actions related to a specific threat, Bayesian inference could be used to update the probability of a threat based on new data inputs, and fuzzy logic could be used to help make decisions based on uncertain or incomplete information.
Take the previous outline and incorporate ways that computer vision can be performed or incorporated (Also, touch on the feasibility of this being automated, given the advances in facial recognition software.) with the same logic, inference, and HMM.
Certainly! Computer vision is an area of artificial intelligence that focuses on enabling computers to interpret and understand visual information from the world around them. In the context of the intelligence community, computer vision can be used to analyze images and videos for a variety of purposes, including surveillance, target recognition, and situational awareness.
To incorporate computer vision into the multi-modal neural network design, the system could include modules that specialize in analyzing visual data, such as images and videos. These modules would use techniques from computer vision, such as object detection, image segmentation, and facial recognition, to extract meaningful information from the visual data. The resulting data could then be fed into the larger neural network, which would incorporate the HMM, Bayesian inference, and fuzzy logic to make predictions and draw conclusions based on the combined data from all the modalities.
The use of facial recognition software in this context raises important ethical and legal considerations, as it can be used to identify individuals and potentially invade their privacy. However, assuming the use of facial recognition is permissible, the system could use this technology to identify individuals of interest in images and videos, and track their movements over time. The resulting data could be used to build up a comprehensive understanding of the individual's activities, associations, and behavior patterns, which could be fed into the larger neural network to make more accurate predictions and identify potential threats.
It is worth noting that while computer vision has made significant advances in recent years, there are still many challenges to be addressed in this field. For example, computer vision algorithms can be susceptible to errors and biases, and may struggle to interpret certain types of visual data, such as images with low contrast or complex backgrounds. Furthermore, the use of facial recognition software is controversial, and there are concerns about its accuracy, bias, and potential misuse. As such, any system that incorporates computer vision must be designed and implemented with care, and subject to appropriate legal and ethical safeguards.
Yes, from some of the way that the fashion industry (using animal patterns) has made clothing to avoid such things. Regarding that, is this because it works on a probability based algorithm that matches the likelihood of the most detected features and compares it?
Yes, you are correct. Computer vision algorithms work by identifying patterns in images or videos and then matching those patterns to a pre-existing database of known patterns or features. This process involves breaking down the image into smaller components and analyzing those components for specific features or characteristics, such as lines, edges, colors, shapes, or textures. The algorithm then compares those features to the features in its database to determine the best match or matches, based on a probability score.
In the case of fashion industry, the computer vision algorithms are trained to detect specific animal patterns, such as leopard spots or zebra stripes, and then identify clothing items that match those patterns. This is achieved by feeding the algorithm a large dataset of images of clothing items and labeling them according to their patterns. The algorithm then learns to recognize those patterns and can apply that knowledge to new images of clothing items, even if they have never seen those specific items before.
Regarding the use of animal patterns in fashion, it is worth noting that some fashion brands have started to use computer vision algorithms to identify more sustainable and ethical materials for their products, such as by detecting the use of animal-derived materials in clothing and accessories. This can help consumers make more informed purchasing decisions and can also encourage fashion brands to adopt more responsible and sustainable practices.
Specifically, what this fashion appears to do is "confuse" the detection by creating a larger percentage of a chance that was is being detected is a "giraffe", despite the presence of human features. Thoughts?
Yes, that's correct. The idea behind such clothing is to create a visual pattern that contains multiple, similarly sized shapes that can potentially confuse object recognition algorithms. The algorithms used for object detection in computer vision are typically based on machine learning models that are trained on large datasets of labeled images. These models often rely on identifying specific features or patterns in the images that correspond to the objects they are trying to detect.
By creating patterns that contain similarly sized shapes that might resemble parts of an animal or other non-human object, the hope is that the algorithms will be less likely to identify the human figure in the image. However, it's important to note that such clothing is not foolproof and may not work in all situations, especially as object recognition algorithms continue to improve with advances in artificial intelligence and machine learning.
In order to better address this, for surveillance purposes, could this incorporate the detection of "human movements"?
Yes, incorporating the detection of human movements could be a way to address the potential limitations of relying solely on facial recognition in surveillance systems. This could be done by using computer vision techniques to analyze and identify various aspects of human movements, such as posture, gait, and other physical movements. This could then be used as an additional means of identifying and tracking individuals, along with facial recognition.
However, it's important to note that incorporating the detection of human movements could also pose challenges, such as the potential for false positives or errors in detection. Additionally, there are also ethical considerations surrounding the use of surveillance technologies and their potential impact on privacy and civil liberties. Therefore, any such systems would need to be carefully designed and implemented with these considerations in mind

2023.04.01 11:52 Anniemaniac Is repeatedly receiving someone’s bank statements a GDPR breach? They have also made notes about MY calls on HIS account (including my personal info) - can I access these?

Since June/July last year, I’ve randomly been receiving a random guy’s Halifax bank statements. No idea who this guy is and he’s never lived in my property. I’ve also received threatening debtors letters from another company so I’m guessing he’s using it address to avoid his financial responsibilities.
I’ve contacted Halifax at least 8 times by phone, along with sending the statements back as ‘not known as this address’ but they keep sending them. These are not the regulatory-required statements - these are current bank statements every single month with personal and transactional info almost enough for me to access his funds.
Halifax have been useless. I’ve been told several times that a ‘mail block’ will be placed and I’ll stop receiving them but they keep coming. I’ve been hung up on, rudely spoken to, patronised, lied to, accusatorially had my intentions questioned when I’ve pointed out the security risk these statements posed, been given contradictory information too many times to count, been refused to speak to a manager and refused to make a complaint, and I was promised multiple call backs that never came. Their service has been shockingly bad.
I was finally allowed to raise a complaint about 8 weeks ago and felt it was finally getting sorted, only to receive a letter now saying they can’t and won’t fix it as they have ‘no facility to prevent correspondence coming out’ and my complaint has been rejected. I’m still receiving statements after AGAIN being told they’d stop and after the complaint handler specifically told me she got her manager to apply a mail block. What I’ve been told in my complaint resolution letter is entirely contradictory to what I was told on the call (and it’s the same person who wrote me the letter that I complained to) so now I feel lied to again.
I worked for a different bank and we had a simple button in our system to apply a ‘returned mail block’ which would stop correspondence being sent until the customer updated their address. Surely Halifax has a similar facility?
These statements are his latest statements and include almost every piece of info I’d need to access his account. All I’m missing, literally, is his DOB and I’d have full access to the 5-figure sum he has in there. Given Halifax already slipped up and gave me his first name (the statements only have his initial) a little social engineering or online digging if I was so inclined would be all it would take to access his account. It’s a major risk to the customer and if this was my info being negligently sent to some random person, I’d be highly concerned. This isn’t once - this is nearly a years worth of statements and risk that they refuse to put right.
All I want is for the statements to stop as I don’t know who this person is and given the debtors letters, I don’t want any association to him.
So, as Halifax have now rejected my formal complaint, I’m wondering where I stand.
Halifax have also unintentionally let it slip that they’ve been making detailed notes on this persons account about the calls I’ve made but when I’ve asked for this info or for call recordings I’ve been denied as it’s not my account. Which is fair enough but given they’ve made at least 8 different notes of my info (such as my name, phone number, address, details of my complaint etc) and it’s my voice and info on the calls, where does this leave me? Do I have a right to this info (obviously with his account details redacted)?
Only reason I want this info is because I want to take my complaint further (largely due to the appalling service I’ve received) and this will prove how many chances I’ve given Halifax to sort it, and also prove how long they’ve been allowing this to go on. It’s also a bit concerning because if this guy GDPR’s his own account info, then potentially my info such as my name and contact details could be shared. This guy is, I’m almost certain, committing benefit fraud in some way as he’s receiving PIP/ESA payments even though his funds are over the 16k savings limit and he’s not making any regular cost of living payments like rent/mortgage or utilities. He’s just doing little transactions here and there, hence why I don’t want to be receiving his statements as I don’t want any connections to me or my address being made.
Advice appreciated. Thank you.

2023.04.01 11:46 CP4-Throwaway My OFFICIAL NEW Generation Definitions!!!

My OFFICIAL NEW Generation Definitions!!!
Alright, here's what I'm going to do. I'm going to give out my new definitions and have an explanation for each one. Here we go.
GI Generation: born circa 1901 to 1924
The generation obviously starts in 1901 because this is the first cohort to not legally be able to fight in WWI since they had come of age right after the war had ended in 1918. They would be the typical Roaring Twenties young adults. 1898-1900 borns kind of cusp with this generation, since their war efforts weren't that recognized, barely having much time in the war.
Interbellum Wave: born circa 1901 to 1913
This wave would end in 1913, not only because of the "Interbellum Generation" cohort officiall yending in 1913, but also because of the fact that 1913 borns were likely the last to have a memory of WWI at all. Memory happened later than usual because of the lack of technology and whatnot.
Greatest Generation: born circa 1914 to 1924
This wave is the cohort that does not remember WWI but has memory of the immediate postWWI aftermath that was the Roaring Twenties, right before the Crash of 1929. Plus, 1924ers were some of the last truly recognized for their WWII efforts, and were higher in the ranks than their 1925-1927 born peers.
Silent Generation: born circa 1925 to 1942
This generation should start in 1925 since they were the first to be sort of blue chippers in the WWII ranks, and not recognized as much for their war efforts. Plus, they have no memory of the 1929 Stock Market Crash, let alone any memory prior to it. 1925-1927 would sort of cusp with the GIs because they did fight in the war though.
Traditional Generation: born circa 1925 to 1933
This was the wave that truly experienced the hardship of the Great Depression as children, while also having to grow up in WWII. They thankfully had come of age in the Renaissance period of America during the 1950s and had very traditional values. They sort of were the "Leave it Beaver" generation, if you will. This ends with 1933 borns because they were the born during the hardest period of the Great Depression, and most likely would've been the last to fight in the Korean War, give or take.
Conformist Generation: born circa 1934 to 1942
This was the cohort that were children during WWII and had experienced some of their formative years already during the post-WWII Expansion period, before coming of age in the peak of it. They immediately conformed to the beliefs and norms of those days, and had since been a part of the societal norms. However, they would be too young to truly partake in the youthful acts of the "Sixties Generation". It ends with 1942 since they were likely the last to remember WWII. And like S&H mentioned in his Generations book, were in the Class of 1964, and were not a part of the protests.
Boom Generation: born circa 1943 to 1960
This generation starts in 1943 due to the lack of any memory for WWII and were the first youthful activists during the 60s. They were born before the post-war boom, so there might be a bit of a cusp around 1943-1945 borns.
Sixties Generation: born circa 1943 to 1952
They were the generation that were children in the 50s and were directly fed the 50s beliefs onto them. They were the generation that were given everything and promised the world. They came of age in the 60s and were the stereotypical "Flower Children", and continued their activism well into the 70s. This wave changed an entire era of early 20th century traditionalism and birthed the modern era of today. This ends with 1952 since they were noticeably the last that really got to fight in the Vietnam War. The draft ended in 1971, so the cohort right after them (1953) might have likely not been drafted.
Generation Jones: born circa 1953 to 1960
This generation were children during the 60s, and were given the same promises as the Sixties Generation, however experienced a lot of hardship compared to them. They are the last cohort to remember JFK, they were still very young when society had started becoming more adult-centered and focused less on the children, experienced many assassinations, White House scandals (Watergate), the US dollar separating away from the Gold standard, the Oil Crisis of 1973, Stagflation and the 70s economic malaise, Kent State, and much more. It made them more jaded and grounded in reality. They at least had disco and punk to enjoy. And were at the forefront of "Yuppiedom".
Generation Xers: born circa 1961 to 1976
This starts in 1961 since they have no memory of the JFK assassination, and were immediately overlooked from the beginning. Many of them had likely not been even born because of the introduction of the birth pill in 1960. But there is sort of a cusp with 1958-1960 births due to their JFK memories not being very solid.
Baby Busters: born circa 1961 to 1967
This group is considered to be the most self-destructive youth cohort in the 20th century, according to S&H's studies in their book "Generations". They had a less-than-stellar childhood in the 60s and 70s. They had come of age during the 80s so they were likely the most Conservative young adult cohort in a long time. Were the original "Generation Xers" talked about by fellow Buster Douglas Coupland (1961 born). This cohort more than likely defined Generation X culture more than any other cohort, only rivaled by the Jonesers. Busters end with 1967ers since they were the last cohort out of K-12 prior to the Challenger explosion. Gen X's JFK assassination at the time.
MTV Generation: born circa 1968 to 1976
This group didn't have it as bad as the Jonesers and the Busters. Sure, they grew up in the 70s but they were still young enough to experience the 80s in their formative years when things were getting better. And many of them had come of age in the 1990s, the most prosperous decade in recent history. This is the most stereotypical Xer cohort, but based off of the traits given to them that they thought they had to follow. It wasn't as genuine as the Busters, who actually grew up pretty hard. This ends with 1976 since they were some of the last to inhibit some of the hardships growing up. Especially since there was a huge baby bust from 1971 to 1976, where many of them would have gotten aborted, unfortunately.
Generation Y: born circa 1977 to 1992
This group starts in 1977 because they were the first group to come of age alongside Windows 95, which started the commercialization of the Internet. They were basically the guinea pigs of it. They likely have little to no memory of the 70s and weren't fully conscious until things already had gotten good by around 1983-1984. Late 70s borns are NOT Xers. They're Yers. Look at the celebrities born in 1977.

Tom Brady was born in 1977. His prime was in the 2000s and 2010s. He's Gen Y. NOT an Xer.
Definitely not Xers, I will tell you that. They were in their early 20s at the turn of the millennium, so they were definitely the start of something new. This is also at the point where relation to the 60s Xers is just not there. There is too much of a gap. There is sort of a cusp around 1974-1976 tho, since even the mid 70s babies barely inhibit that many X traits tbh.
Xennials: born circa 1977 to 1983
You could also call this group "Anadigitals" since they grew up with analog technology and no internet but were still youthful and coming of age alongside the internet boom. The stereotypical 90s cohort that were into grunge and alternative, but the members of this generation were at the forefront of the late 90s teen pop era. The last to experience an adult life pre-9/11.
Millennials: born circa 1984 to 1992
This is the group that legit came of age in the new millennium and are completely of a different mold to the Xers, compared to the Xennials. The "90s kid" generation that you see online. This is also sort of the "Peter Pan Generation" that doesn't seem to truly want to grow up, having come into maturity after the events of Columbine, Y2K, 9/11, War on Terror, Hurricane Katrina, and the Great Recession. This group had it the hardest during 2008 and were the most Democratic young adult group in a long time. They would've experienced many of their adolescence on the internet in chatrooms or social media (AOL, Friendster, MySpace, Facebook, YouTube, Vimeo, Twitter, Google Video, etc.). They influenced the 2010s pop culture more than anyone else.
Generation Z: born circa 1993 to 2008
This group starts in 1993 because there's sort of a huge gap that can't be ignored between 1992 and 1993 babies. 1993 borns were the first born after the power dynamics changed in politics from the GIs to the Booms, with a Boom president. They likely have no memory of many of the critical events of the 90s like OKC, OJ Simpson, Princess Diana's death, Monica Lewinsky, or even Columbine. They entered grade school after the event anyway, so it wouldn't have had much impact to them. They are also the first that likely did understand the impact of 9/11 at the time. They were still acting like it was "the 90s" until like 2004 when their pop culture had changed. 1991-1992 borns are sort of on a cusp here because they were a bit too young to act on the 2008 election votes and had been merely high school students and not come of age until after the GFC crash, so they would have been a little better off compared to the 80s babies.
Zillennials: born circa 1993 to 2000
This is the wave that is still pop culturally connected to the Millennial wave of Gen Y, with a lot of leftover kids shows from the 90s still running during their childhoods, but were a bit socially different. Their voices weren't heard politically until like around the 2016 or 2020 elections, which were more divided compared to 2008 (2012 doesn't really count here tho). They are the Clinton babies. They were still around during the 20th century, pre-9/11, but were merely children who still saw the 2000s as a magical period, when older people saw it as a very pessimistic and dark decade to be alive.
Zoomers: born circa 2001 to 2008
This group is totally removed from anything involving the 20th century and mainly grew up in the 2010s decade, post-GFC. They likely have no memory of a world prior to Katrina and the technological explosion during the 2000s. They didn't form a real political opinion until Trump was in office (2016 at the earliest for them). They were most effected by Parkland/MFOL, the death of mumble rappers, COVID-19, and the rise of Andrew Tate, than anything going on during the 2000s. They did not inherently grow up with smart technology but they were easily integrated into it as they were cognizant. This ends with 2008 since they were the last Bush babies, the last to be born right before the worst of the recession hit, and were the last to likely remember a world prior to the smartphone domination.
Generation Alpha: born circa 2009 to present
A lot of people say that this definitely starts in 2010, like many late 00s born gatekeepers love to say on GenZ, but I hate to break it to you 09ers, but y'all are the same as 10ers. Sorry not sorry. 2009 babies were the first born during the Obama administration and after the change that was 2008. They have no memory of a world prior to the smartphone takeover of the early 2010s. Most of their childhood happened during the political turmoil and polarization of the post-2014 era. Their entire life has been turbulent, filled with crazy disasters after crazy disasters (although the Zoomers can also relate to this as well). They had inherently adopted smartphones and iPads very, very, VERY young. 2006-2008 would kind of cusp with Alpha, due to still being during the radical transition of smartphones.
iGeneration: born circa 2009 to 2016
Basically just the Obama babies. First that inherently grew up with Apple technology and whatnot. The stereotypical "Victory Royale" generation, doing the Orange Justice and Fortnite dances. Their influencers would've been mainly along the lines of MrBeast, iShowSpeed, KSI, Paul brothers, Ricegum, and many many more. Lil Tay would be in their cohort. They are some of the last to remember a pre-COVID world, so they are the last to be somewhat grounded in reality and that can relate to "SNOW DAYS".
Post-COVID Generation: born circa 2017 to present
Basically the Trump/Biden babies that have no memory of a world prior to the COVID-19 pandemic and will be growing up in the aftermath of COVID. Their main influence so far is Cocomelon and surprisingly Tiktok, just like the Zoomers and the iGen. They will never know what it's like to live in a normal world, frankly. Zoom and online school is all they know.

2023.04.01 11:29 FinalDraftResumes How to troubleshoot a failing job search

When I began my career in recruiting, I became intimately familiar with the applicant’s journey through the job application funnel, from the moment they submitted their application to the moment they were either offered the role or turned down.
I moved to consulting because I felt I could do more good working alongside applicants instead of being on the other side of the table.
Over the course of my consulting career (going on 12 years now!), I’ve helped hundreds of clients overcome various challenges involved in all aspects of the job search process, including:
✅ Writing a compelling resume
✅ Switching industries
✅ Troubleshooting ineffective resumes
✅ Troubleshooting broken job searches
Today, I’m going to cover three key stages in the job search process, what typically goes wrong with them, and solutions. These stages are:

The online application

Symptoms that your application process is broken
If your callback rate is less than 10% (as in, less you receive callbacks on less than 1 in every 10 job applications), then chances are there’s something wrong, assuming you’re applying to jobs you’re 60 to 70% qualified for.
Keep in mind this number varies by industry, role, location, and economic conditions.

If your callback rate is less than 10%…then chances are there’s something wrong…

Why?
How you fix it
At this stage, your resume is most likely the source of your problems. Assuming you’ve been qualified for the jobs you’ve applied to, take another look at your resume:
Revise your resume to ensure it clearly addresses the qualifications (i.e., experience, education, and skills) listed in the job posting.

The initial recruiter screen

Symptoms that something may be wrong with your initial screens
The rate at which applicants move past the initial screen varies widely, but in my experience, you should be moving forward on every 4 in 10 applications, at the least.
If you’re not, that tells me something’s going wrong during the screen that’s causing the recruiter to not move forward with your application (which by the way could be conducted over the phone or social media platforms such as LinkedIn).

You should be moving forward on every 4 in 10 applications…

Why?
There are a few areas where you may be tripping up here. A few of the key ones include:
How you fix it

The job interview

Symptoms that you’re failing your interviews
While the number of interviews vary from one company to another, many companies use three as the magic number. That means you’re going through three interviews before being offered a job.
According to recent estimates by Jobvite, the interview to offer conversion rate was about 36.2%, up from around 19% during previous years. That’s how likely you are to be offered the job.
Based on that data, a ballpark conversion rate of about 25% is probably a safe average to go by. That means you have a 1 in 4 chance of moving past each stage of the interview.
If you’re seeing results that are drastically less than this (say you’re only moving past 1 out of every 9 interviews), then you’re probably fudging the interview.

…You have a 1 in 4 chance of moving past each stage of the interview.

Why?
How you fix it

2023.04.01 11:25 AF_International New to Samsung

Hey all, I have been a lifetime Apple user, but lately with Apple's ridiculous pricing I am starting to get turned off. I am looking to buy my first Samsung product, but there's an issue I can't get around... it hasn't been released yet.
So here's a quick back story, I bought an Apple iMac back in 2011 - it actually lasted 12 years. I wanted to buy a new one, but Apple hasn't released one that fits what I am looking for. If I want to purchase a Mac that fits my workload, I need to buy a spec'd out Mac Mini, and then the Apple monitor... so in the end, I will have to spend like $4k.
I watched a Samsung monitor release event online earlier this year in January where I saw the Samsung 27" 5k monitor that they are calling the Viewfinity S9. It is apparently direct competition to the Apple Studio Display, and it was apparently supposed to be released in Q1-2023. Well, Q1 has come and gone with no release. Samsung hasn't said peep about it since January - and no insiders have any scoop so far. I did see a "rumor" that Samsung canceled it and now won't be releasing it at all - which seems a bit ridiculous.
Anyway, I am curious...
Is marketing a big release, then failing to deliver standard for Samsung? Has anyone heard anything about the Samsung S9, Viewfinity 27" 5K monitor? Does Samsung normally have "Release Events" like Apple - if so when do they usually take place?
Here is a link to the monitor I am talking about if anyone is interested: https://www.theverge.com/2023/1/4/23538534/samsung-viewfinity-s9-5k-monitor-first-look-preview-apple-studio-display

2023.04.01 11:17 Mrsuccess7 5 of the Strongest Online Business Models to Ensure Success

The choice of an online business model can have a huge impact on future success. So be careful when starting out that you select a model that matches your lifestyle. The following are 5 of the best online business models you can make use of to secure financial freedom.

#1 - Blogging

Blogging is still one of the best ways to make money online. Blogging takes consistency to work, and the results can take a while to materialize. But blogging is still essential. Even if it is not going to be used as the primary form of income, having a blog is a good way to promote your other business or bolster your reputation. Once a blog generates enough traffic, it can be monetized using affiliate links or paid advertising.

#2 - YouTube

In many ways, videos are taking over written content. Customers like videos more than written content and video content have the potential to go viral. YouTube is the biggest video streaming platform and it is easier to create a video than is commonly believed. You can use YouTube to build up a following and then market to them. This method is far quicker than blogging in most instances.

#3 - Physical Products and Amazon FBA

It is also possible to sell physical products online with the help of other services. With the Fulfilled by Amazon (FBA) service, you simply ship your goods to Amazon. The sale and processing occur through the Amazon platform, as does the delivery of the product itself. Amazon even takes care of customer service. In other words, Amazon does a lot to complete the business. However, they do take a large share. Other methods of selling physical products online include drop shipping and third-party logistics companies.

#4 - Create an Online Course

If you are an expert on a particular topic, then you should consider creating your own online course. This is not as difficult as it sounds, but you will still be responsible for marketing and promoting your course. Udemy is one of the most well-known online course platforms. With the increase in the price of third-level education, more people than ever are turning to online courses for instruction.

#5 - Freelancing

Freelancing is a great way to earn money on the side. You can work from anywhere and leverage your existing skills for compensation. You can also use freelancers to enhance your business and quality of life. Virtual assistants are available and can complete menial tasks such as data entry or email management for as little as $5 per hour.

2023.04.01 11:07 Philip19967 How One Canadian AI Company is Driving Digital Transformation in Retail

Vancouver-based Fobi AI is making it easy for operators to keep pace with consumer demands and future-proof their businesses through digital transformation.

Many retail and consumer packaged goods (CPG) businesses want to connect, enhance, and mobilize their existing, often antiquated, infrastructure through artificial intelligence (AI), automation, and analytics. But most of them don’t know where to start. With over five years as a market leader in automation and mobile wallet technology, Vancouver-based Fobi AI has the know-how and does all the heavy lifting so that companies can focus on what matters most: their business.

Smart data in motion

Fobi has proven experience globally and is working with Canadian companies to change the way they do business. With headquarters in five countries and international operations spanning over 150 nations, Fobi’s dynamic solutions are far-reaching, delivering real-time applications, data-driven insights, and personalized engagement across several global retail use cases, including digital loyalty and membership, coupons, digital ticketing, retail giveaways, and digital age and ID verification.
“Retailers don’t need more data—they need ways to unlock, leverage, and monetize their data,” says Rob Anson, CEO and Chairman at Fobi AI. “We can take an organization’s data, including its operations and customer interactions, ingest it, and with the click of a button, create value with all that data through AI.”
For most companies, data is cumbersome, expensive to manage, and often challenging to make sense of. Machine learning automates the manual steps that people would normally have to do to complete extensive data analysis to inform their business decisions. The secret sauce for Fobi is its powerful Fobi Data Exchange (FDX), a unified insights platform that automates the ingestion, aggregation, and monetization of point-of-sale data in real-time. These actionable insights help businesses make smarter, more optimized decisions and develop more targeted, personalized marketing campaigns.

AI for all

Complex data is connected and combined from multiple disparate sources, such as point-of-sale, online, offline, and third-party transaction systems, to which the Fobi Data Exchange can then provide real-time analytics and insights that unlock powerful retailer-to-customer interactions. Segmented on an overall business level or for each store, retailers can visualize these analytics in a customizable dashboard and subsequently build forecasting and predictive models through machine learning algorithms.
This transformational technology isn’t just for the e-commerce giants. Fobi is levelling the playing field by giving brick-and-mortar shops access to the same tools and competitive advantage. Businesses of all sizes can now use AI and automation to make data-driven decisions that deliver integrated, omnichannel shopping experiences for customers everywhere.
“People don’t fear AI for what it is. They’re often afraid of change,” says Anson. “But when businesses see what we can do and realize our solutions are plug-and-play, they can appreciate the value of AI and the results that it brings to the table.”

Driving decisions and revenue

Many companies, big and small, don’t know how to leverage their data. But businesses are realizing that by utilizing AI and leveraging it to their advantage, they can unlock even more opportunities to create added value with their data. Being able to effectively segment, action, and monetize data through the wallet pass means that retailers can now deliver personalized shopping experiences at the consumer level, ultimately leading to increased recency, frequency, and wallet share.
“Retailers can connect new promotions based on insights from past purchase behaviour, which is one of the most important indicators for retailers to predict and influence future customer behaviour,” says Anson. “This leads to more tailored and targeted loyalty and membership programs. And the same aggregated data and insights can be anonymized and resold to large third-party data aggregators which opens up a brand new revenue stream.”
Personalization and convenience are everything for consumers today, and this puts pressure on retailers to understand their customers’ wants and needs. But currently, there’s little awareness of the full customer journey—what customers bought in the past, how they redeem promotions, and how much they spend.
Anson uses a professional sports team as an example. What does the team know about a season ticket holder? Aside from their contact information, today, customer lifetime value (CLV) in the sports and entertainment industry is largely based on how long fans have had their tickets, how much they’ve spent for those seats, and the value of those seats over time. But what if the team actively had real-time insight into the person’s food and beverage preferences and spend, merchandise purchases, or how they travel to games?
Through AI and automation, Fobi delivers the interoperability to unify data across the team’s disparate systems, such as parking, tickets, merchandise, food and beverage, and more, to get a better understanding of fans at a transactional level. As a result, these insights can help businesses drive enhanced customer engagement by sending hyper-personalized offers and recommendations that are more likely to resonate and convert at the till. Personalization is also proven to drive increased visits, sales, and brand affinity with better targeted marketing campaigns and more cross-selling and up-selling opportunities.

2023.04.01 10:42 ThomasCookAndroid Advice for running exploration as a complete newbie DM

Hey there, I just started DM'ing for a group of 5 players. I've never DM'd before in any system and only have 10 sessions as a player under my belt in another system (DnD5E), so I'm "in at the deep end" so to speak.
I just ran my first session last night and it went ok, although I feel it could definitely have been a lot better. I asked my players for some feedback afterwards and got the following so far:
In addition, I have some other questions that popped into my head during and after the session;
I'm looking for some advice so I can improve quickly, ideally based on the above stream of conciousness, if anyone has the time to read that and has some constructive thoughts on how to improve, specifically on exploration.
Thanks for reading my wall of text :P

2023.04.01 10:13 Tieadonna Formatted and cloned boot SSD to new SSD, does not boot from new SSD despite it being number 1 in BIOs boot settings; friend recommended changing drive letters?

And from doing some of my own research I don't really trust that advice (since reddit knowledge says the drive letter is determined by the boot drive).
Some context: I'm upgrading from an old SATA SSD to a larger M.2 SSD and followed the instructions of this video to the T. The drive has been cloned and is number 1 in BIOS boot up sequence. I can even see it pop up in disk management under H: (it is online) but no matter what I do it will not boot from my new SSD. I've tried taking out my old SSD and booting it but that only earns me a blue screen error until I plugged the old one back in and restarted.
Does anyone know what might be happening and how I can fix this so I can boot from my new M.2 SSD?

Below is the latest in-depth and summary DD from High Tide (a leading retail-focused cannabis company with bricks-and-mortar as well as global e-commerce assets. The Company is the largest non-franchised cannabis retail chain in Canada, with 151 current locations spanning British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario) which I hope will be appreciated and shared.
What I find important to note is the following:
High Tide is valued at approximately 120 million CAD market cap with double-digit annual growth and quarterly reduced expenses, in an ultra-competitive market, a constant increase in gross margins and a turnover of over 450 million annually. The company trades at 0.5 times the sales… These few lines, in addition to the in-depth and exhaustive dd, should make us reflect on the true value of the company and not on what the market values it now.

2023.04.01 10:10 Philip19967 ultimate High Tide DD

Earnings are expected after markets close tomorrow, enjoy reading :)

High Tide's strategy is unique and farsighted, given the number of companies currently competing with themselves and the market saturation which increasingly reduces margins, but this does not affect High Tide.

2023.04.01 10:04 expendableaccount001 Questions about genital warts.

Hello.
I will try to make this as concise and accurate as possible so to make it easy to read.
First off, I noticed a mall bump on the shaft of my penis. I barely noticed it was there but it is there. It is a single wart and it does not itch or hurt.
At first I was very upset but then after reading wikipedia page it basically boils down to if you have them you can just remove the warts but the virus is still in your body and there is nothing that you can do. Your own body will handle it in a long time.
Many sources claim that it is basically harmless for men unless it grows too much? Is it true?
Now the strangest part of this problem. I never had sex, I never even had a girlfriend, absolutely nothing. How the heck I got infected then? Most of the online sources claim that it is a sexually transmitted disease and it can be transmitted with skin to skin contact. I basically had no skin to skin contact with a woman or any other human being in genital region.
Last question, should I take extra precaution when touching my genitals? I mean should I take extra care when going to the bathroom to wash my hands thoroughly and to sanitize my razor when I shave my scrotum and penis? I don't want anyone else to get these warts because of me and there is barely and good read online.
It will be a while before I can get a doctor's appointment (about 2 weeks) but I really need these questions answered because it really bothers me and I need them answered before I can go to the doctor.
Thank you in advance.

2023.04.01 10:03 succhao My bf (20M) opened up about his past and told me he cheated on his ex before. How do I (25F) move on from this?

My partner and I met in an event in October 2022 and went on dates until we became official in early March 2023. He has been my most loving and caring relationship. Despite some challenges (mostly from external circumstances like schedules & family dynamics) - we are pretty compatible and we choose each other everyday.
Yesterday, he messaged me randomly and said if he can talk about something he did in the past. We met up and told me that he cheated on his ex before, 3 years ago, when he was 17. He explained that it was his first relationship and he wasn’t really sure what to do in it, and because he was pretty young at that time, the girl that was flirting with him convinced him that what they were doing (sexting) was okay. At the same time, he and his ex weren’t compatible and didn’t even develop a strong friendship in the first place. Eventually he told his ex and they broke it off. Since then, the guilt and regret eats him up. He said he’d never do it again because the pain he inflicted on his ex felt very wrong to him.
He was going to tell me at some point. But the main reason why he told me about the incident was because he dreamt the night before that he cheated on me and I left him. The feeling of me gone really shattered him and he woke up scared. Because of that dream, he felt like he had to come clean, even if that would mean there was a possibility I would leave him.
Upon hearing everything, I was triggered. My ex cheated on me in 2018 and at that time, I actually gave him a second chance and we continued the relationship. Yet, even after, he still exhibited behaviors that felt like he would cheat on me. My ex wouldn’t post about me because he wanted to look single, he suggested we do an open relationship, he requested he wanted to do a threesome, and he even messaged my friend telling her she was cute and stuff. That was my ex.
But my boyfriend now, he’s not like that. He proudly talks about me to his family and friends, he loves to post about me online, and prior to this, he would always remind me that we are committed to each other. Whenever we have a misunderstanding, he initiates we talk it out and make sure both parties are okay. When I call him out on something, he actually acknowledges it and does better. He fulfills his promises. I have never felt so loved and appreciated in a relationship, even though, I naturally have bouts of anxiety every once in a while because of my past traumas.
And that’s where I need help with. I’m an incredibly anxious person especially in relationships. I admit that I have attachment and abandonment issues. I told him after all this that I am giving him a chance because 1) it was a mistake committed 3 years ago when he was a teenager, 2) I believe that over the course of those three years, he changed and grew from it (because I have also grew from my toxic behaviors three years ago too so if I can do it, he can do it), and 3) I would like to believe his past doesn’t define him and that I love him for his present and future self.
The whole day we were in tears. We were both so vulnerable. I told him that my trust for him was shaken, like it fell back a few steps. I admitted that for the next few weeks or even months, I will be experiencing more doubts and anxieties than ever and he’ll have to put in more effort to rebuilt that trust and we laid down ground rules for this work. At some point, he started crying because he wish he never did it since it now affected a relationship he genuinely wants to pursue and keep. He fears that we will never go back the way we were. He fears that no matter how hard he tries to rebuilt my trust, I will still doubt him. And thats also my fear.
I know its inevitable for me to feel doubt every once in a while. Even he does! But I don’t want that to be the only feeling I experience in this relationship. There have already been so many good memories in this relationship. My gut feeling tells me this is gonna work out, and possibly, even strengthen our relationship.
I just have fears that what if it happens again. It doesn’t help that people consistently shove down people’s throats that ‘once a cheater, always a cheater’ - of course, that does happen, but in some cases, people do actually change. He admits that attraction to others still exist (I mean, same thing goes for me) - but he will never act upon them because of our relationship. He doesn’t wanna lose me. I’ve been taking his word for it and I can feel the genuineness from him. I don’t want to lose him either.
I guess I’m just babbling over him to release my anxieties and seek reassurance, especially to those who have actually worked things out with someone who was a cheater. How do you lessen those doubts and anxieties? I don’t want to hyperfixate on his past self (who I never even met) and completely forget his present self. I want to let go. He does too. And we’re both willing to do whatever it takes to make it work.
TL;DR: Boyfriend opened up about his past experience of cheating and has promised to never do it again. I am giving him a chance to rebuild that trust despite my anxieties.

2023.04.01 10:02 Businesslogosticker Jewelry Making Courses

Jewelry Making Courses

turquoise earrings

Imagination at Work

If you have a deep, abiding love for jewelry in any form, shape, or size. Take a jewelry-making class if you want to use your imagination while making something you can use and enjoy. It will also shed light on the intricate microengineering behind the creation of all that glitters and shines.

Instruction in Jewelry Design

Create something for someone special, including yourself! was the title of the three-hour course I took.
The company is based in Lancashire and was started with you in mind. The course encouraged participation from both sexes and was designed for adults. All materials, including beads and tools, were included in the course fee, along with instruction and individual guidance from the instructor.

Slope of Learning

We were briefed on design fundamentals including using pliers and beads safely, the benefits and drawbacks of symmetrical and repetitive patterns versus asymmetrical and random ones, and where to find more supplies locally and online.
The instructor stressed the need of answering the seemingly trivial question, "Who is this jewelry for?" before beginning any design process.

How big does it have to be?

What preferences of the individual do I need to take into account (in terms of color, material, and way of life)?
Then we were told to go crazy and have a good time. We were given free rein to make as many or as few jewelry items as we could in the allotted time.

A wealth of Beads!

It's incredible what may emerge from your mind and materialize in front of your eyes when you're faced with a blank area (whether it's a page or a beading mat). The size and color options for the beads supplied by Created for you were practically endless. Finding the best combination of beads was a group activity that drew on a shared sense of discovery and concentration. After some trial and error with beading mats and stringing and restringing beads, we figured out that jumping right in and producing a mock-up was the ideal method to manufacture jewelry.
We immediately learned a ton more about bead jewelry design through the process of trial and error. Little adjustments, such as those made to hue and presentation, can have a dramatic impact. Little seed beads, for instance, can be used to create a bit of breathing room in a design, relieving any sense of crowding, overcrowding, or fussiness that might otherwise arise. In addition, you can use their color to "bring out" or highlight the rest of the beads in your design.
Also, we got our hands dirty by crafting our jewelry. It's possible to alter the properties of a material or the final product by employing one of several distinct methods. To make a necklace, I decided to use a mix of soft turquoise earrings and shell beads, so I researched how to string them on silk thread and tie a knot between each one. The twisted silk reduces wear and tear on the fragile beads. The use of a silk thread necessitated my learning to use knot covers to hide the final knots in the necklace thread.

Identical Pairs

After finishing the jewelry class, I was motivated to finish the set by making a pair of earrings to complement the necklace I had made. With my newly acquired design talents, I fashioned a pair of earrings that were reminiscent of the necklace without being an exact reproduction of it. Many people have complimented me on my jewelry set, so I've worn it out. It's a pleasure to wear, and knowing that I had a hand in its creation makes it that much sweeter.
