Hi folks. I haven’t posted here before but I’ve lurked for a long time and really appreciated the stories, lessons, and thoughts shared in this space. I tried to write a post with my whole story so far, but it ended up not allowing me to post it, presumably because it became an essay of epic proportions. Writing it all out for an audience has helped me figure things out a bit though.
Myself (36M) and my partner (29F) (we’ll call her M) have been together for 5 years and being poly has been something we’ve always talked about as a future desire for both of us. Something like six months ago we made the decision to change. Suffice to say we’ve made plenty of mistakes and missed lots of warning signs on the way, and are now in a situation where every option feels painful. We’ve been through depression, anxiety, joy, compersion, suicidal ideation, love, delight and abject breakdown on this journey, and I can’t necessarily say anything nice like ‘it’s brought us closer together’ as yet, but at least we’re figuring out relationship problems that neither of us were aware we had.
In lieu of the full story, here’s a few thoughts that might be helpful for anyone reading who is also considering opening up their relationship with their partner:

• One huge sign that we should have seen but didn’t: discussing poly felt great, and the words ‘it feels like we’re really communicating again’ were said. I now see what a major warning this is. If you feel like you’re ‘communicating again’ because you’re talking about opening up, then that also means you aren’t fully communicating in your relationship. You really should probably have a think about that.
• Self-soothing and sitting in discomfort are all well and good, but mental health issues and trauma can cloud your judgement and make you dishonest with yourself about your own pain. And you won’t always be able to articulate that you’re lying to yourself.
• Those of us who have a dual role as a carer and partner are better at both when doing less work to be a carer directly, and more work to support partners in engaging with professionals and services. We’re improving this, but it’s hard work and M’s dependence on me is a huge imbalance in our relationship that we’re addressing too late.
• I’m not convinced any amount of time planning and discussing and imagining would have prepared us for the reality of the situation whilst we were both misdiagnosing our own issues.
• This situation feels disastrous right now, but I still have some hope that through this learning journey we’ll find an outcome that makes sense in the end. And if we’d never started down the path of opening up, how long would we have sat in our mono relationship without really understanding what issues were building up?

I think it’s more clear to me now than ever that shifting a mono relationship to become a poly one requires truly breaking the relationship you have, in order to build your new dynamic. Your mileage may vary, of course, but for people starting on this journey, you should probably go in knowing you’re much closer to breaking up than you think you are.

Hey peeps, I finally bought the ps5 last week. I think the only multiplayer game I have is borderlands 3 lol. I always been a fan of this series. I'm not trying to get 2k since its already mid year, but I plan on getting diablo 4 and if anyone has any suggestions on other games we could play together I would be up for that. This is worth repeating. The proposed bill would allow a Secretary of State, on little more than a whim or for barely disguised political retribution, to overturn the results of a legitimate election and order a new election if he doesn’t like the outcome.
The bill doesn’t specify how many times he can do it until his choice of candidate wins.
As reported by Mediaite, “The text of the bill states that “the secretary of state shall order a new election if the secretary has good cause (Italics mine)to believe that at least two percent of the total number of polling places in the county did not receive supplemental ballots under Section 51.008 for one or more hours after making a request for supplemental ballots to the authority responsible for distributing election supplies.”

What could happen?

I (21M) am currently living with my two roommates (both 21M). We're living together for over a year now and we're very close. I'm in relationship and one of them has a girlfriend too. The third one, let's call him Aman is single. He's very introvert in nature and slightly overweight but he's good man. Now whenever we go out on double dates, we take Aman with us as well so he doesn't feel like he's being left out just because he's single but sometimes our girlfriends want some private moments with us so he either goes home early or doesn't even come sometimes. We feel very bad about that and we've been trying hard to set him up with someone so we all could go on triple dates and have max fun with noone feeling any guilt or whatsoever.
So yesterday we three were having brunch in a food court. There was a group of five to six girls at next table. They were around the same age as us. After we finished our meal Aman told us out of nowhere that one of the girl is very cute. Now we were already desperate to find him a girl so we told him that atleast talk to her and tell her that you find her very cute. He said no and that he won't do that in a million years, but we were also like we're not leaving until you go and tell her that and if he won't do that then we will. We basically forced him to go to her and ask for her number. After few minutes of debate, he finally agreed on few conditions like we've to do his laundry for one week & all. So my man went to her with deep breaths and said this exactly "Hey, I think you're very pretty & I like your smile, I'd like to know you better and may be wanna hang around sometimes!? so can I have your number?". And all her response was "Have you ever seen yourself in a mirror? Creep." All her friends laughing silently. He just like froze there for a sec and then looked at us. We could tell how humiliated he was, then he just stormed out. We both felt like shit. I wanted to tell the girl that it's not cool at all what she has done, but my roommate tried calm me down & told that it's better if we don't make a scene out of it & he didn't want any trouble so we left.
Now Aman hasn't spoken a word to us ever since that incident. We said we're so sorry and we won't make him do anything relationship-wise but he hasn't given any response. I feel like his confidence was already down but after that incident, it's got completely shattered and we're responsible for that. I'm not sure what do that makes him okay. Also today he said that he's gonna go live with his grandparents for few days and we said nothing but okay. I hope that'll make him feel better and he comes back to us soon.
I'm feeling super guilty and this is eating me alive, i just wanted this out of my chest.

Hi, vets! I have a 5 year old male dog, he’s a 15kg mixed breed I got from a shelter about 4 years ago. He’s overweight per body score, UTD on vaccines and prevention, has central hypothyroidism under treatment with thyroid hormone for the past 3ish years. Last autumn, a friend noticed he had a very small bump under his eye. When I got to the vet, we couldn’t find it so I figured it was a bit of dirt? It has, however grown a bit to the point I can see it now. It seems like he produces more eye boogers but they’re normal consistency-wise, the area isn’t sensitive, no other complaints. It looks like a beige-pink tick and it’s located roughly 3/4 in under his eye. Size-wise it’s around 2-3mm in diameter Now my big question is: do I take him to the dermatologist or the ophtalmologist? I’m only asking because specialists are hard to come by where I live, and most of them are at the university hospital which is a pretty poor environment for an anxious dog. They’re also not transparent regarding his care at times, so I would avoid the place as much as possible (within reason ofcourse). There’s been times I waited for him in the cold for 4 hours for a blood draw, the billing is wildly inconsistent, we can only draw blood on a certain day because their lab tech is temperamental etc. I’m a human dr and understand that hospitals are chaos but it hasn’t been a good experience for either of us (he gets so anxious he’s not himself for days and it breaks my heart) Thank you so much for your help!

I’m 168cm (5’5) tall, and according to their size chart I’m a fit for S2 and S3 (lower end). I don’t have where to try this model to get the feel of it… as a comparison I rode a Commencal Meta AM size M and it felt alright… but I like the bike to have be balanced in terms of agility and stability.
What do you think? S2 would be too small? S3 too big? 😬 From what I’ve read, the Enduro model is quite a long bike…

Before everything, we should already meet these requirements;

• Have a few millions Denars. Cough!Cough!Smithing!...
• 275+ Steward(Can be someone else in your party) which will help with your party size and daily troop wages.
• Good amount of caravans and workshops to help with daily income.
• Clan Tier 5.
• Preferably 275+ Medicine(Has to be you) which makes battles much easier, but not a must.
• Preferably use the Battle Size Mod that increases the battle size up to 2048 from 1000.

So how can we beat kingdoms without being a kingdom? Let's go step by step;

1. Take a rebelled town. Noone will declare war on your clan except the rebel clan which is not a problem.
2. Join a kingdom as a vassal.
3. Create an army with your companions only. Then go to battania if you wanna recruit fian champions, or khuzait if you want khan's guards. So basically you're going to make sure all your companions have mostly fians or khan's guards in their party.(Btw, not only leading an army but also upgrading high tier troops give insane amount of xp in Leadership so you also might want to lvl up Leadership during this stage.)
4. Upgrade all these troops to the top tier by discarding armors/weapons from your inventory. In every town you visit, buy all tier 2 armors/weapons that cost less than 500 Denars, and buy all tier 1 armors/weapons that cost less than 180 Denars. Always have weapons to sell in your inventory so you can get all your money back from the town.
5. After making sure your own party and your companions parties are full of fians or khan's guards, progress to the next steps below.
6. Go to your town and create a huge army of vassal parties including your all companion parties. If your companions have high Steward skill, then their max party size will be around 150. 150*4=600 in total. And add your own party too which is around 260 ; 640+260=900 in total.
7. Once all parties join your army, disband the whole army and immediately leave the kingdom&keep holding your fiefs. Keeping your fiefs while leaving the kingdom will make them declare war on you. Now you're surrounded by 1000+ Men Enemy Army but you also have all companion parties nearby too. With all the fians or khan's guards, it should be easy to beat them with minimal casualties even though you're outnumbered. (The Battle Size Mod plays a big role here since it allows you to spawn more troops right at the start of the battle, instead of spawning them later on and in the middle of nowhere.)
8. After beating them, take all lords as prisoners and put them in the dungeon of your town.
9. Now you're in a war with a faction that has almost all its lords in prison. Which means you can take their every single fief by your own. Pick "Festival and Games" as the Daily Default on the manage menu for each fief you take so your fiefs won't rebel due to low loyalty. We have to do this because we don't have any loyalty bonus from policies since we don't have a kingdom. I also believe at this stage it's better to set the Priority of companions parties to "Defensive" so they will patrol around the owned fiefs.

Repeat step 6,step 7,step 8, step 9 for every other kingdom. At the end, you'll conquer all Calradia WITHOUT BEING A KINGDOM :D

What could happen?

I plan on creating my first video game, I'll avoid teasing it too much until I definitely get into the project, but to give you a good idea; it would be a 2D RPG creature collecting game that would gradually turn to horror. In terms of graphics, I would like to get closer to the 4G of Pokémon, or even 5G if possible. A good looking 2D in summary.
My number one criterion for choosing my engine is to have as much control as possible over what happens within the game, I want it to be extremely flexible during the creation process. For example, I would like to have the possibility of adding visual effects similar to Doki Doki Literature Club!; glitches, playing with the game design that would suddenly change to surprise the player. To be able to simulate that the game bugs and destroys itself in some way.
The game would have two different battle systems; one when we make our creatures fight (like Pokémon or Temtem), and when we fight ourselves as a human (which would be a kind of bullet hell with the possibility of attacking by having to use reflexes or doing actions a bit like in Undertale). With the possibility to customize these fighting systems and visuals when the game "bugs". So I need an engine that can offer me such versatility in the gameplay and game design.
In addition, the game would also have several playable characters, several different routes and endings. With a lot of random events to give each player a slightly different experience. I must be able to play a lot with the variables.
The game would also have a rather meta aspect, playing with the fourth wall. There would be a lot of things to say, but for example, I would like to have the ability to detect if video capture software is recording the game and have the game react to it, or if the internet connection is on or off and create gameplay elements on that. To be able to play with the files of the game that would hide things to discover, or even to be able to implement code that writes itself code in order to modify the game in a "chaotic" but controllable aspect. A kind of organised anarchy.
An engine that would allow to create a game with an initial simplistic appearance, which turns out to be extremely dynamic and destabilizing, both visually and technically. While breaking the established conventions that players are used to.
Even though I'm still a beginner, I don't mind the difficulty of learning the engine, I'll learn if I have to and I know in advance that it will take several years to complete this project. I just prefer not to start using an engine and discover that I can't do what I want. Even though it's more difficult, I'd rather stick with an engine that allows me to do what I want to do with the game and master this engine in the long run.
Yeah, I'm pretty much an Ideas Guy. I'm totally aware of that, but I do not care. I'll just do my best and take my time, it's all that matters.
