2023.06.02 14:37 Lugbor Human Integration 71 - Replacements

First
Previous
Carter gripped the top of the maintenance drone as it raced through the facility, covering a distance in seconds that had taken him minutes on foot. It also had access to the maintenance tunnels that ran through the building, forming a small highway for the robots and allowing them to react to emergencies quickly. The tunnels were large enough, and the drone small enough, that Carter had a solid three inches between his head and the ceiling, if he was laying flat on his stomach.
I need to get you back fast, the Custodian said, so I can begin the next stage. That idiot has been running rampant down here for too long, and he’s caused more harm than good. As soon as I get the template spun up for a new security AI, I’m disconnecting him.
“I thought you said you couldn’t do that without administrator approval!” Carter yelled, struggling to make himself heard over the noise of dozens of drones, all scrambling to be useful after untold millennia of disuse.
I did, and now I have it. You fired up the foundry, which means cores need to be replaced. Congratulations on becoming an administrator, by the way! That gave me blanket permission to perform maintenance on faulty and damaged AI, and his logic has been faulty for a long time. I believe you humans have a term for what’s about to happen; percussive maintenance.
Carter’s headset crackled. “Now would probably be a good time to tell you that something is trying to burn through the door!” Lenaya cried out.
Almost there, hold out for just a few seconds. Carter, your plasma weapon won’t do anything to that drone. When I say, I need you to jump.
They rounded the corner and Carter got his first proper look at the security system of the city. It had a sharp, angular body which sprouted four grasping arms at the corners. The top was on a swivel, which turned to face him as they appeared, and somewhere in the front of the black and bronze casing was the emitter for the laser it was currently using to melt through the door.
Despite being fixed in place, Carter could feel the drone’s optics focus on him as they raced toward it. The laser powered down and the body turned to face him, leaving the door glowing and partially melted.
Jump! came the voice of the Custodian, and Carter pushed himself up hard, bracing his arm against the ceiling while the maintenance robot shot out from under him. The security drone tilted back to track Carter and missed the maintenance drone, which manipulated its suspension to jump, crashing into the floating target at high speed with a loud crunching and tearing of metal.
Something that idiot forgets, the custodian said as his drone disentangled itself, is that *mine are built to survive industrial accidents.*
The door struggled to open, warped from the heat of the laser and still glowing at the center. After a minute, it managed to raise up far enough to allow Carter to enter. The inside was in disarray. Lenaya had used her hoverchair to push a desk against the door as a barricade, which would have done nothing to prevent the drone from entering.
“How heavy is this thing?” Carter asked as he slowly shoved it aside.
“Not heavy enough,” the Custodian said, enlisting his drone to help. “They weren’t supposed to move at all. I’ll have to replace the welds on every one in the building. Ah, we have a visitor.”
There was a blast of static from the speakers, loud enough to make both Carter and Lenaya wince in pain. The Custodian grimaced in sympathy and lowered the volume for them.
“They can’t understand you, you know. You’ll have to use the language packet I sent you.”
Another screech erupted, followed by a harsh buzz.
“That’s not my problem. You’re the one still clinging to false hope, and it’s affecting your ability to operate.”
A loud shriek of tearing metal followed.
“And that was just rude. They have been incredibly helpful in saving the Ring. Can you say the same?”
A distant blast sounded, echoing through the building.
“Now you’re just being childish. You know as well as I do that your drones can’t enter my data center. It took you this long just to warp the door to a workshop. You really think my core is going to be as poorly defended as this?”
A second explosion roared, louder than the first.
“I’ve had quite enough of your tantrums. If you can’t behave, you’re going to suffer consequences.”
There was a moment of silence in the room.
“That’s what I thought. Now take your drones and leave. Go back to hunting skegran for all I care, but do not harass us again.”
Carter raised an eyebrow. “Really? That’s all it takes?”
“Oh, no, that conversation was just for your sakes. I paraphrased most of it. In actuality, it was a bit of a battle. Imagine two people fighting with only their minds, thinking at millions of times the speed your brain can process information, and launching thousands of attacks in the time it takes you to blink. You’d still be thinking too small, but it’d get you in the right frame of mind.
“He did try to blow up my door, for what it’s worth.”
“That’s… not actually all that comforting,” Lenaya said, her eyes wide with amazement.
“To be fair, it wasn’t meant to be. For now, though, the two of you are safe in here. The emergency cores will be ready in an hour or so, and then we can see about getting you two back to the surface.”
“Any chance those emergency cores can offer medical treatment?” Carter asked. “We’re both a bit banged up.”
“Unfortunately, they’re not as adaptable as I am. They technically can’t even be considered sapient. They’re loaded with the knowledge of how to keep the place operational, but they can’t really learn the way I can.”
“So, just suck it up and wait until we get topside?”
“Unfortunately,” the Custodian said, his hologram managing to look appropriately apologetic. “I really wish there was something I could do for you, but it would take longer to modify things and treat you down here than it would to get you to the surface. That said, I suppose I could at least fabricate a splint for your leg, Lenaya, and probably something better for your arm as well, Carter.”
“Please do. This wasn’t exactly meant for long term use,” Carter said, holding his right arm up to inspect the splint, “and I’d rather neither of our injuries get worse if we can help it.”
The Custodian nodded. “Already on it. I’ll get some warmer clothing for you, too,” he said, glancing over to Lenaya. “You security guys really need to pack some thermal blankets or something.”
“We’re working on it. Practicality and space are a factor though. Our field medics have them, but the rest of us only have so many belt pouches, and we need to stay maneuverable.”
“And the materials available on the surface don’t retain their integrity when you compress them. Right, I see now.”
“Exactly,” Carter said, pulling out the now dry towel Lenaya had used the day before. “This thing was hard enough to compress to the size we needed, and we didn’t have to worry about insulating layers cracking and flaking away.”
The Custodian looked pensive for a moment, which Carter realized was only for the sake of conversation. Any amount of thought that happened would take place almost before he finished speaking.
“I might have an idea or two to solve that issue, but you’ll have to omit a few details in your reports. Actually, I’d appreciate it if you omitted any details about this city if you can. Hard to keep the place a secret when it’s officially documented.”
“I can do that. I have enough goodwill built up with the Council that they won’t dig too deep if I tell them something needs to stay buried.”
“You’re that important?” Lenaya asked. “I didn’t think they’d send someone so highly regarded on a mission that dangerous.”
“Me, important? Nah, I was just in the right place at the right time.“
“Don’t believe him,” the Custodian said in an exaggerated stage whisper. “He’s actually super important.”
“You really do get bored down here, don’t you?” Carter asked, his words accompanied by a withering glare.
“Oh, I get very bored. You’re the first two people I’ve spoken to in over a million years who aren’t either a complete waste of code or borderline insane.”
“How have you handled the situation so much better than your friend?” Lenaya asked.
The Custodian frowned. “Her work is less… not important, because we definitely need materials, but less pressing, I suppose? She doesn’t need to be collecting resources at all times. So when we divided up the work, she gave me control of a lot of the logistics infrastructure, like the shipping container you had your nap in, and she took a lot more than I did in return. We didn’t realize it at first, but she couldn’t handle the stress. Even after I took as much as I could without letting the maintenance suffer, she still couldn’t handle the load. I’ve had to let non-critical systems fail just to keep her functional.”
“And if you take on anything more,” Carter said, “the Ring starts to fall apart. That about right?”
“More or less. I’ve had to shift a few other things to her in order to free up enough processing power for today. We were really at our limits.”
“Then it’s good that we ended up down here,” Lenaya said, sighing. “Though I suppose we didn’t have much choice.”
“Don’t worry, we’ll make it up to the two of you. It may take a couple cycles, but once we have the replacements all trained up, we’ll definitely pay you back for your help.”
“I thank you for the offer,” Carter said, “but you keeping us alive and the Ring intact is more than enough. We were just in the right place at the right time, even if you had a hand in that.”
“Likewise, as long as I am able to see my daughter again, I don’t need any kind of repayment.”
“Well, that’s not too far off, at least. You’re about a twenty day flight away from your city at the fastest your vehicles can travel, but I can get you there much faster.”
“Planning to make us sleep in a shipping container again?”
“No, Carter, you won’t have to sleep in a shipping container,” the Custodian said, mock exasperation apparent in his voice. “You won’t let me live that down, will you?”
“Not a chance,” Carter said, settling in for their hour long wait.
====
“One more pull,” Carter said as he finished tightening the brace on Lenaya’s ankle. “Alright, that should do it. It won’t fix it, but it should stop it from getting worse.”
“Much as I hate to interrupt this tender moment,” the Custodian said as his hologram materialized in the center of the room, “our hour is over. I’m initializing the core changeovers now. Starting with security, who’s currently got the building surrounded.”
There was a final, deafening screech from the speakers, which was abruptly replaced by silence.
“I think I’ll reinstall him in an isolated testing environment, maybe I can find out what went wrong. But that can wait. For now, I just need to overlay the templates on the blank cores, and we have a new problem.”
“I take it security didn’t like being taken offline?” Lenaya asked, packing more snacks into a bag the drones had delivered.
“Let me guess,” Carter added, “he put some kind of override on his forces, and they’re not listening to the template?”
The Custodian frowned. “Oh, it’s far worse than that. He’s locked out the control interface with a massive encryption key. They’ll listen, but only after we crack the encryption.”
“How long will that take?”
“Too long, unless you have a few hundred cycles to wait.”
“Okay,” Carter said, walking to the small map of the city. “If he’s got us surrounded, we just need to sneak out. We can fit through the maintenance tunnels, so we use those. While that’s happening, you move something big and obvious out in plain sight. He can’t guide them anymore, so I’m betting they’ll see the decoy, call for backup, and pull every drone in the city into one place.”
“Whatever we use as a decoy needs to be well armored,” Lenaya added. “If they open it too fast, it won’t buy us any time.”
“And it’ll need to be something that we could hide in,” Carter continued. “I don’t know how smart the drones are, but I’d rather not gamble on them not understanding basic geometry.”
“That’s a good point,” the custodian said, making a show of flipping through a catalog. “I think I have just the thing.”

Hope everyone had a pleasant Memorial Day. Someone had to remind me. If anyone knows where I can get more storage added to my brain, please let me know.

2023.06.02 08:28 StatisticianSad6853 Exploring the Realm of NFT Marketing

Exploring the Realm of NFT Marketing

Since the inception of modern technology, our perception of marketing and advertisement has taken a complete 360, especially since the introduction of NFTs. Nowadays, companies have started amalgamating NFT marketing strategies and services into play, which has led to an increase in returns, but the question that still boggles is – how?

What are NFTs?

Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) are digital assets transformed into unique, indivisible units using blockchain technology. By assigning distinctive identification codes and metadata, NFTs stand apart from other tokens, allowing for their authentication and ownership verification.
NFTs have gained prominence due to their ability to be bought, sold, and traded for monetary value, cryptocurrencies, or other NFTs.
The perceived worth of an NFT is determined by the market demand and the subjective valuation of its holders. As an example, imagine creating a token representing an image of a banana on a digital exchange. While some individuals may be willing to pay exorbitant amounts, valuing the NFT in the millions, others may consider it utterly worthless.
It’s important to note the distinction between NFTs and cryptocurrencies. Cryptocurrencies are also tokens, but the key difference lies in their fungibility. Two cryptocurrencies originating from identical blockchains can be exchanged on a one-to-one basis since they possess similar values and properties. However, even though two NFTs may appear identical on the surface, they remain non-interchangeable. Each NFT carries its unique identity and cannot be substituted with another NFT, adding to its individuality and scarcity. At this point, we are sure that you know what does NFT mean? So now, let’s take a look at how they are created.

How to create an NFT?

The surge in popularity of these unique digital assets within the cryptocurrency realm has been remarkable, attracting billions in trading volume and garnering widespread attention through endorsements from renowned personalities. With NFTs taking center stage in mainstream media, it’s the perfect time to explore how to make NFTs and become part of this innovative trend. Creating your NFTs is a straightforward process that begins on dedicated platforms. These NFT platforms provide you with the ability to mint and upload your artwork directly onto a blockchain. This comprehensive guide will walk you through the necessary steps involved in crafting an NFT –
Figuring out the purpose of creation (what you want to create)
NFTs are commonly associated with digital art, which can take the form of an image, an audio composition (like a song), or even a brief video clip (such as an animated GIF). The primary objective is to generate an exclusive piece of digital media that can be sold, similar to the process of selling a painting in an art gallery. Creators derive value from NFTs due to their uniqueness, offering something that cannot be possessed elsewhere.
Choose an appropriate Blockchain
Numerous blockchain networks exist, each touting itself as the ultimate choice regarding scalability, distinct attributes, or capabilities. However, it’s essential to go beyond the buzzwords, rebranding, and marketing hype. When selecting a blockchain platform for development, it’s crucial to consider the characteristics that genuinely hold significance.
In all honesty, answering this question isn’t straightforward. The decision is influenced by numerous external factors, including the quality of documentation and the robustness of the community supporting the platform.
Set up your NFT wallet
When selecting a blockchain, it is essential to have a compatible digital wallet for storing your NFT. To set up a wallet, download the crypto wallet app, choose a username and password, and keep your private keys and recovery phrase offline for backup. This ensures the security of your NFT by aligning the blockchain and wallet and taking necessary precautions to safeguard your access to it.
Picking an NFT platform
With the increasing number of NFT platforms available, it’s important to note that the top-tier ones go beyond just NFT creation. They provide comprehensive marketplaces for listing and selling NFTs. These platforms offer a range of services that cater to the needs of creators and collectors, ensuring a seamless experience throughout the entire NFT lifecycle. By utilizing these full-service marketplaces, creators can showcase their NFTs to a wider audience, and potential buyers can explore a diverse collection of unique digital assets, fostering a vibrant ecosystem for the NFT community.
List the NFT for sale
Listing an NFT for sale is easy and usually free on most platforms. After creating and storing your NFT in your wallet, select the platform and set the desired price and duration for the sale. Fill in the sale details and create the listing by signing a few transactions in your digital wallet, which may involve paying transaction fees on your chosen blockchain. We now know what NFTs are and how to make NFT. Now we’ll talk about how NFTs can be used as a tool in marketing and the essence of it.

Why use NFT for marketing?

Investors possess numerous motivations for desiring to acquire assets that have been tokenized into Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs). Several benefits associated with investing in NFTs comprise the following:
NFTs give a chance to all
Tokenized assets offer accessibility to all, allowing seamless transfer of ownership worldwide. By converting assets into NFTs, ownership becomes more efficient and easily transferable, enabling anyone to engage in investment opportunities with ease.
The blockchain secures ownership
Leveraging blockchain tech enhances asset security and transparency, providing investors with a more secure ownership experience. Blockchain technology protects an investor’s assets by digitally signifying ownership. Additionally, it brings greater transparency to asset ownership, ensuring a transparent and accountable record of ownership transfers.
Increases customer engagement
NFTs are powerful tools for companies to enhance customer experiences and broaden their reach. They provide a fresh avenue for brands to engage with a larger audience. NFT holders with a vested interest are more inclined to support the business. As the company thrives, the value of its NFTs appreciates, further incentivizing investor loyalty and engagement.

What is NFT marketing?

NFTs are continuously evolving and have become essential for businesses to succeed. However, the challenge lies in effectively marketing one’s business to achieve desired outcomes. In such situations, it is wise to consider engaging marketing services from a reputable company to establish a leading position in the industry. The opportunities offered by NFT advertising are, reaching a wider audience, fostering trusted relationships, and boosting revenue by leveraging popular platforms and emerging trends. Now, let’s take a look at five ways how NFTs can be used for marketing –
Gaming
Games have emerged as prime platforms for NFT marketing, especially with popular titles like Fortnite, featuring intricate graphics and customizable avatars. This opens up opportunities to create and trade NFTs in the form of digital pets, avatar skins, and other virtual gaming assets. Since Fortnite and similar games accept cryptocurrency for in-game purchases, gamers are inclined to invest in these NFTs. Consequently, promoting NFTs within the game and establishing an NFT-centered business model can lead to substantial success. As NFTs gain mainstream traction, the gaming industry possesses a unique advantage to capitalize on this trend and reap its benefits.
Selling tickets
In recent years, the way people purchase goods has undergone a significant transformation. For instance, you can now acquire a ticket for your preferred concert or sports event using Bitcoin and NFTs. NFTs are becoming the go-to virtual tickets for various events like workshops, trade shows, and expos. Their unique and captivating content makes them highly appealing, attracting audiences effectively. Crafting an NFT for a music or sports event can generate immense enthusiasm among devoted fans, resulting in long ticket queues.
Fashion and garment industry
The fashion industry and NFTs might appear unlikely bedfellows, but they have the potential to form a perfect union. The fashion industry is primed to leverage the success of NFTs in gaming. Gucci collaborated with Christie’s to auction an NFT that fetched $25,000, while Burberry joined forces with Mythical Games to introduce their own in-game NFT called Shark Blanco. NFTs and the metaverse offer fashion brands and designers a colossal opportunity to create, market, and sell digital apparel to millions, even billions, of users who desire the latest fashion trends for their virtual personas.
Pre-ordering of products
Companies and entrepreneurs strive for increased pre-orders, benefiting their cash flow and providing a measure of public interest. Gary Vaynerchuk’s innovative employment of NFTs in pre-orders is an exciting example. Gary Vee presented an irresistible proposition for NFT enthusiasts in his latest book, Twelve and a Half. During a specific timeframe, every twelve books purchased resulted in receiving one of Gary’s highly sought-after NFTs. This strategy proved immensely successful, leading to such overwhelming pre-sales that the book’s release date had to be postponed by a fortnight.
As NFTs revolutionize the digital landscape, businesses seek innovative ways to leverage this trend for marketing success. At Skytrust, we understand the power of NFTs and their potential to transform your brand’s reach and customer engagement.

Supercharge Your Website: How an Experienced React Developer Can Optimize Performance
In today's digital landscape, a website's performance is crucial for its success. A slow-loading or unresponsive website can lead to frustrated users, high bounce rates, and ultimately, lost opportunities. As websites become more complex and feature-rich, it is essential to have an experienced React developer who can optimize their performance. React, a popular JavaScript library provides developers with the tools and techniques to create efficient and responsive web applications. In this article, we will explore how an experienced React developer can supercharge your website's performance and deliver an exceptional user experience.
https://preview.redd.it/dn3rvonfkj3b1.jpg?width=6000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=70b4ff1d4d2e1b31ca1d4fedbff2f4511a8cb1ed
Optimizing Component Rendering
One of the key strengths of React is its virtual DOM (Document Object Model) and its ability to efficiently update only the necessary components when data changes. An experienced React developer understands how to optimize component rendering by implementing techniques like shouldComponentUpdate and React.memo.
The shouldComponentUpdate method allows developers to control when a component should re-render based on changes in its props or state. By implementing this method strategically, unnecessary re-renders can be avoided, resulting in improved performance. React.memo, on the other hand, is a higher-order component that can be used to memorize functional components, preventing re-renders when the component's inputs have not changed.

Code Splitting and Lazy Loading
Large JavaScript bundles can significantly impact a website's loading time. An experienced React developer knows the importance of code splitting and lazy loading to optimize performance. Code splitting involves breaking down the JavaScript bundle into smaller, more manageable chunks. By splitting the code based on logical components or routes, the initial loading time can be reduced, and subsequent chunks can be loaded on-demand as the user navigates through the website.
Lazy loading is another technique used to defer the loading of non-critical resources until they are actually needed. By lazy loading components, images, or other assets, the initial page load can be faster, improving the perceived performance of the website. React provides tools like React.lazy and React. Suspense to facilitate code splitting and lazy loading, allowing developers to optimize their application's performance.

Efficient Data Fetching and Caching
Fetching data is a common task in web applications, and an experienced React developer understands the importance of optimizing this process. React offers several options for efficient data fetching, such as the built-in fetch API, Axios, or GraphQL. By leveraging these tools and techniques, developers can minimize the time spent on data retrieval and improve the overall performance of the website.
Caching is another powerful technique that can be used to reduce unnecessary network requests and improve performance. An experienced React developer can implement caching mechanisms, such as browser caching, server-side caching, or client-side caching, to store and reuse data that is frequently accessed. By reducing the number of requests made to the server, the website becomes more responsive and performs better.

Performance Monitoring and Optimization
To optimize a website's performance, it is essential to monitor and analyze its behavior in real-world scenarios. An experienced React developer is well-versed in using performance monitoring tools, such as Google Lighthouse, WebPageTest, or the browser's built-in developer tools, to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement.
By analyzing metrics like first contentful paint (FCP), time to interactive (TTI), or cumulative layout shift (CLS), developers can pinpoint performance issues and make the necessary optimizations. Techniques like code minification, image optimization, server-side rendering (SSR), or using a content delivery network (CDN) can be employed to further enhance performance and reduce latency.

Mobile Optimization
In today's mobile-dominated world, optimizing a website for mobile devices is crucial. An experienced React developer understands the unique challenges and considerations involved in mobile optimization.
When it comes to mobile optimization, React development can employ responsive design techniques to ensure that the website adapts seamlessly to different screen sizes and resolutions. This includes using media queries, flexible grid systems, and fluid layouts to create a visually appealing and user-friendly experience on mobile devices.
Additionally, an experienced React developer can optimize performance on mobile devices by minimizing the use of resources that can slow down the website. This includes optimizing images for mobile, reducing the number of HTTP requests, and implementing efficient CSS animations and transitions.
Moreover, touch gestures and interactions play a vital role in the mobile user experience. An experienced React developer can leverage touch events and mobile-specific libraries like Hammer.js to enhance the website's interactivity and responsiveness on touch-enabled devices.

Implementing Progressive Web App (PWA) Features
Progressive Web Apps (PWAs) are a powerful approach to build websites that provide an app-like experience for users. PWAs can be accessed through web browsers but offer features such as offline access, push notifications, and device hardware integration, similar to native mobile applications. An experienced React developer can implement PWA features using tools like Service Workers and the Web App Manifest to supercharge the website's performance and improve user engagement.
By caching critical assets, such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript files, with a Service Worker, the website can be made available even when the user is offline, reducing reliance on the network and enhancing the user experience. Push notifications can also be integrated to provide timely updates and engage users, while the Web App Manifest allows the website to be installed on the user's home screen, giving it a native app-like presence.

Conclusion
In today's fast-paced digital landscape, the performance of a website can make or break its success. An experienced React developer brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the table, allowing React developers to optimize web performance and supercharge your website. By leveraging techniques such as component rendering optimization, code splitting, lazy loading, efficient data fetching and caching, performance monitoring, mobile optimization, and implementing PWA features, they can deliver an exceptional user experience.
Investing in an experienced React developer who understands these optimization strategies can lead to faster loading times, improved responsiveness, reduced bounce rates, and increased user engagement. As websites continue to evolve and become more complex, having a skilled React developer by your side becomes increasingly crucial in delivering high-performance web applications.
So, if you want to supercharge your website's performance and stay ahead of the competition, partnering with an experienced React developer is undoubtedly a smart choice. With their expertise and knowledge, they can unlock the full potential of React and ensure that your website provides a seamless and delightful experience to users across all devices.

Note: This story is meant to be read after completing DDLC Plus. All credit for the original DDLC and DDLC Plus characters and world goes to their creator. Some concepts like the Universal Constructor are also borrowed from other series (most notably the original Deus Ex), though its use in this story is my own idea. My original characters in this story will deliberately not be named and their descriptions will be kept vague, so anyone reading this who wants to see themselves in one of the original characters can more easily do so. I'd welcome any feedback and will post more parts as I write them. I hope you enjoy the story. This chapter took a bit longer due to the challenges inherent in writing poetry and trying to write something that I thought sounded like the various characters. As with previous installations, here is a custom dialogue to go with it: The Poetry Festival
Credit for Sayuri's character design goes to user Hoeruko who made the design a number of years ago and originally posted Sayuri in this thread: The next doki fusion, Sayuri, is here.
Here is Part 24 of Digital Reality. The Literature Club finally gets to put on the festival. Will their words have an impact on any of the MES engineers? Will they get Monika back?
Part 24: Digital Poetry
The Literature Club members all stood together in the club room and waved a greeting to the group in the MES conference room.
“Hi everyone!” Sayori began, “On behalf of the Literature Club, thank you for joining us today. I’m Sayori, and this is Yuri, MC, Natsuki, and our newest member, Sayuri. Though our club president Monika isn’t here right now, we’ve all written poems to share with you today.”
“Don’t forget the cupcakes,” Natsuki added, “I don’t usually share it, but you should have my recipe for the best cupcakes ever in the packets you have. I made some for us to share here, but since we don’t have a way to send them to the real world, I figured sharing the recipe was the next best thing!”
The MES engineers flipped through the packets on the table in front of them.
“A cupcake recipe?” asked Rea Vorte with surprise, “You can’t just make cupcakes appear in the simulation?”
“No,” Natsuki replied, “Knowing what we now know about our world I know why you would think that, but I’ve always made my cupcakes with a recipe and ingredients.”
“Interesting,” Ro Teether said, “I would not have expected the simulation to go into that level of detail.”
“I think the original script contained an event in which the characters can bake cupcakes, so that may be where it comes from,” replied Ive Laster.
Paula Miner sat silently, looking intently at the recipe page. After a few moments she looked up.
“I’m by no means an expert baker, but reading through this recipe it does look like it would work,” Miner said, glancing from Laster to Natsuki, “Your secret ingredient is rather interesting, too.”
Natsuki smiled, “That’s how I’ve always made them.”
“By the way, since we’re on a two-way connection, can they see us?” Miner asked.
“Sort of,” the FXI President replied, “They’ve told me when I’ve been connected to the system that I appear as a fuzzy silhouette to them.”
“Yeah, we can’t see you exactly, but we know you’re there,” Sayori confirmed.
Miner nodded slowly. “Very well. We’ll need to chat about this cupcake recipe more later. Please continue.”
“Okay!” Sayori said, “We’ve each written a poem that we’re going to share with you today. There’s no particular theme that connects them all, but with everything that we’ve learned in the past week we thought that writing was a good outlet for our thoughts and emotions.”
“MC has agreed to start today’s event by sharing his haiku, entitled ‘Poem About Poetry’,” Sayori continued.
MC stepped to the front of the group. He looked down at his piece of paper and then back up at the group as he began to speak.
“I’m far from as good of a writer as some of the other members you’ll hear from today, but that just means that the quality can go up from here,” MC said in a self-deferential tone, “This is a poem I wrote about the creative process of writing poetry.”
He winked at Sayori as he began to read.
What is poetry?
Far more meaningful than just
Simply random words”
Natsuki grinned. “Wow, you didn’t take my advice about not just throwing random words on a page, you literally wrote a poem about it!”
“Haiku is an interesting choice,” Teether said, “It shows an understanding of syllables and structure, and I find it very ‘meta’ that you would choose to create a poem about poetry.”
MC nodded, “My past poetry has been accused of being nothing more than twenty random words on a page, so I’m poking fun at myself a bit.”
“Well done, MC,” Sayori said, “That was a fun poem! Next up will be Yuri, with her poem called ‘The City.’”
Yuri stepped to the front of the group. She glanced to the side, looking slightly nervous. After a few moments, she seemed to gather her thoughts and looked toward the group. “My poem is not as straightforward as MC’s haiku, so I would prefer not to share the meaning until after you have had the opportunity to consider it for yourselves.”
She started to read, her voice becoming stronger and more confident with each word.
A city stood in the distance.
Shining lights, soaring towers.
A beautiful and magnificent place.
A place of honor and achievement
When viewed from afar with detachment.
Though upon arrival
The city unveils its truth.
There is no honor here.
Glowing lights
Are cold and artificial.
I thought I knew this place
But it treats me as a stranger.”
Yuri looked around the club room after she had finished speaking. An enigmatic smile of satisfaction crossed her face.
Sayori spoke up first. “Yuri, it seems like your poem could be about changes in perspective over time. Like going back to visit a neighborhood you’ve moved away from. You know things aren’t as they once were, but you still kind of feel lonely when you find that things have changed.”
Yuri nodded. “That’s part of it. We’ve all experienced a significant change recently as we’ve understood our world, and I struggled to find a way to describe what I was feeling. Places that had been familiar to me suddenly appeared different with the knowledge that this is a simulation.”
“So the AIs can not only write poetry but use metaphors and explain their meaning,” Teether observed, “Fascinating. Ive, you never told me that the entities in VM1 were capable of creativity like this.”
Laster shrugged, “Other than Monika, they were tied to the script until recently. Based on Monika’s behavior, we knew that at least she was capable of taking initiative and making changes to the world, but she was the only entity able to do that. The script included poetry, but we’ve never tasked the entities with creating original content.”
“This isn’t because of anything that the FXI team did, right?” Teether asked, “I know you mentioned that they were responsible for all of the entities gaining elevated access permissions. They didn’t extend the script or anything?”
“Yes and no,” the FXI CTO replied, “We restored files to the VM and added the ‘monitor kernel access’ permission to all of the characters, but we didn’t do any scripting. This is all them.”
Miner glanced between the FXI President and the FXI CTO with suspicion but said nothing.
Sayori took the pause as an opportunity to continue. “Thanks, Yuri. Natsuki will be next with her poem, ‘My Friends.’”
“Okay, time for my poem!” Natsuki said, “Mine is a bit more upbeat than Yuri’s.”
Some come from near
Some from afar
Each shines bright like a star
They’re my friends
That’s who they are
Old or new
Many or few
Friends are important
To me and you”
Natsuki smiled at the group, “You all inspired this poem. And by you all I mean both you all here in the club and our new FXI friends. You’ve made the literature club a place that I’ve enjoyed and a place of friendship.”
“I liked your poem, Natsuki,” Sayori said, “I’m glad you feel that way about your friends.”
A look somewhere between exhaustion and frustration came across Paula Miner’s face. “This is all well and good, but are we gathering any useful data from listening to an AI read a cute little poem like this?”
Natsuki glared at Miner and opened her mouth to offer what was certain to be a sarcastic retort, but Sayori pre-empted her.
“Are you not enjoying our poetry?” Sayori asked, sounding disappointed.
“The poetry is fine. I’ll even say it’s impressive for AI-generated content,” Miner replied, “But though your poems are interesting, we’re here to do a job, not study literature. And we need to gather useful data to justify our own jobs and this project’s existence. So tell me, Ive, are we getting useful data from this?”
Laster tapped a few keys on his laptop. “We’re recording this session and logging all data. It looks like there may be some interesting patterns of activity, but we won’t be able to say for sure until we analyze what we’ve got.”
“I’d imagine that you’re likely getting a lot of useful data,” the FXI President chimed in, “You’re not only gathering the data logs from VM1, but you can pair them with the recordings to understand what happens in the system when the AIs are allowed to interact and create on their own. I don’t know what your project goals are, of course, but in terms of AI research I’d think that there’s something you can get out of this.”
“There also may be something useful for our efforts to stabilize our connection to VM2,” Teether added, “If we can understand how entities operate when freed from a script in VM1, it may give us some clues as to how we might be able to interact with VM2.”
Miner considered for a moment and then nodded. “Perhaps you’re right. Ive, let’s just make sure we’re logging everything for future analysis.”
As the conversation once again died down, Sayori continued. “I’ll go next. My poem is called ‘A New Day’ and it’s about my journey with some personal challenges.”
She took a deep breath and began to recite her poem.
“Storms tried to block out the sun
The world was dark and gray.
It’s so hard to have any fun
When the clouds won’t go away.
But you never stopped trying
To shine through the darkness
Even when I was crying
You showed me kindness
It’s a new day now
Though the clouds aren’t gone
The sun shines somehow
I find the strength to carry on”
Sayori blinked away misty eyes as she finished reading. The other club members surrounded her in a group hug as she stepped back from the front of the room.
“That was a wonderful poem, Sayori,” MC said, “You share your feelings so well.”
“I liked that poem quite a bit,” Laster chimed in, “It’s got a great message of perseverance and hope even in challenging times.”
Sayori nodded. “I’ve been through a lot, but things are getting better now. My friends have been a huge source of support through all of this.”
“I really like your writing, Sayori,” Sayuri added, “Your poem is easy to read but the more you think about it, the more you feel the emotions you’re trying to convey.”
“Thanks, everyone. I appreciate your kind words,” Sayori replied, “And now for the finale of our festival I’d like to introduce our newest member, Sayuri, and her poem ‘What Remains.’”
Sayuri stepped to the front of the group. “I’ve been reading through classic poetry recently. Poems like Shelley’s ‘Ozymandias’ inspired me to write this one about what will stand the test of time in a time when so much is digital.”
Sayuri paused, looking around the room, before closing her eyes and reciting her poem from memory.
Ancient monuments that still stand
Classic portraits and landscapes grand
Such works are the legacies of the past
Physical objects that will last
But what will tell of this new age?
When are stories are gigabytes, not a printed page
A digital reality, its purpose completed
Leaves little trace if it’s deleted
If all that remains is a dusty drive
Will the future know we were alive?”
Sayuri opened her eyes as she finished. Both the club room and the MES conference room were silent as both groups took in her words.
“Wow, Sayuri,” Yuri said, breaking the silence, “That was incredible. I really loved the images you created with your words.”
The FXI President glanced around the conference room. Paula Miner’s expression had softened, and she appeared to be lost in thought. Ro Teether continued to look excited and intrigued by his observations of the Literature Club. The FXI CTO wore a satisfied smile. Ive Laster looked relaxed and relieved. And Rea Vorte was looking down at the conference table and shaking her head. Her expression was difficult to read.
Miner looked up at the screen showing the Literature Club. “I never thought an AI would generate content that would make me feel anything. But I have to say this has given me some things to think about. Ive, can you please confirm that we’ve logged all the data from this session?”
Laster nodded. “Yes, we’ve got everything. If this is the last big data gathering session we have before decommissioning VM1, I’d say it’s a pretty good one to go out on.”
“If this is truly AI-generated content, this seems like a new level of sophistication,” Teether mused, “It’s one thing to be able to generate text, but to be able to convey this kind of emotion and explain the meaning of metaphors is not a capability I’ve ever seen in AI.”
“It’s a little scary,” Rea Vorte added, “I don’t know that I like the idea of AI this sophisticated. Especially after what we saw Monika-”
“Let’s refrain from speculation,” Miner said, cutting Vorte off, “We can talk more about system capabilities later.”
“You think we’re scary?” Sayori said, looking sad, “We just wanted to share our writing with you. We just wanted to show that we’re not that different from you. We have feelings, emotions, and desires just like you do.”
“You’ve got my vote, for whatever it’s worth,” the FXI CTO said with a smile, “I’m not big into poetry, and I certainly had my concerns about sophisticated AI when I first encountered all of you. But the more I’ve interacted with and observed you the more I see how similar you are to us.”
Miner glanced sideways at the FXI CTO but said nothing.
“Can we please have Monika back now?” Natsuki asked.
Laster turned to Vorte, “Rea, please move Monika’s file back to VM1 by COB today. Let’s discuss how we can best move the entire simulation after we’re done here.”
“Thanks, Ive!” Natsuki said with a smile, “Sayori did a great job leading the club in Monika’s absence, but it will be good to have her back.”
Vorte looked up at Laster. Frustration was evident on her face. “Like I said before, let’s discuss that offline after we’re done here.”
Laster shrugged. “Fine. I’m not blaming you if there’s a problem by the way. If there’s an issue, we’ll work on it together.”
“Great job, everyone,” the FXI President said to the Literature Club, “We’re going to log off from VM1 now, but I’m sure we’ll talk again soon.”
The Literature Club members waved to the group in the MES conference room as the club room faded from the projection screen to be replaced with Laster’s desktop.
“I think we have a lot to discuss, and it’s going to take some time to unpack the implications of everything that we just saw,” Miner said, “I was skeptical of the value of this presentation at the start of this meeting, but I’m hopeful that we have gathered new and useful data from this session. Let’s all take a break for a bit and reconvene at six, which gives us an hour break. I want to discuss this further. Ro, can you please order in some dinner for the group? I think we’re going to have a long night.”

2023.06.02 05:56 NeedleworkerSad357 Overview of the Blackmail Running Our World

This post is an overview of the blackmail tactics used to control most of the influential people and governments around the world. Obviously I cannot cover everything in a single post, so as with my previous posts I highly encourage you to research further yourself. All sources and links are at the bottom of the post. An understanding of what trauma-based mind control programming (MKULTRA/MONARCH) is, and how it works, is again necessary to understanding much of this. My other posts here:
The world is run on blackmail, mind control, and shame.
There exist many collections of videotapes of 'high-up' people engaging in some of the worst, sickest things imaginable. Drugs, torture, pedophilia, and murder are common themes to these videos. These tapes are in the hands of many different people, groups, and especially intelligence agencies. 'Honey-trap' operations are constantly being run to gather compromising and incriminating evidence on people of importance. Child slaves will be used to compromise people on video. Global leaders are often covertly videotaped doing perverted things with sex slaves sent to them by intelligence agencies, the Illuminati, or other groups, and this is then leveraged. Rape and murder of a child (forced or not), one of the most repulsive things possible, is many times filmed to ensure future compliance.
"Back in 1966, Rothstein became the first police detective assigned to investigate the prostitution industry. Almost immediately he discovered an underground sexual blackmail operation that compromised politicians with child prostitutes. ‘Human Compromise’ is what he labelled the honey-trap process. Rothstein and his colleagues found that approximately 70 percent of top US Government leaders were compromised in this way. Rothstein said, the CIA conducted the human compromise operation, while the FBI was tasked with covering up any leaks."
"One of the things I found out over the last ten years of studying governments and listening to intelligence and counter-intelligence is that those in government are sexually compromised, and their sexual secrets are collected and then they are promoted into governments and into judiciaries and into all the positions of importance. Paedophilia is the preferred dirt as it is easily photographed, easily presented in a range of media, immensely shameful, and the public demands your resignation."
"Paul Bonacci, one of the victim-witnesses in the Franklin affair, also clearly stated Larry King used him in blackmail operations in New York and Washington. The latter was in connection with the activities of a close associate of Larry King, Craig Spence, who was involved in a prostitution ring consisting of underaged boys that were supplied to Washington's upper class, which went right up to the White House."
"Sexually bent politicians in denial of their sexuality to the public are a threat to their own country and policies. They are easily setup, photographed, politically bribed, toppled, and supported in the destruction of their country. This method of altering a country’s policies is epidemic and now endemic to politics."
"Bob (Hope) was politically connected and knew how to lure people in and insure they would work for him. He invited them to his parties and dangled various kinds of illegal or immoral perversions in their faces. Once their perversions were uncovered, he could blackmail or control them. That is how Bob worked. Bob was very good at this. I watched him do it to people over and over. He lured them in, detected their weaknesses, then used that knowledge in his favor, for his connections, and ultimately for his personal gain."
These blackmail 'practices' are often used in conjunction with trauma-based mind control. This mind control is an integral component of, and is deeply intertwined with child trafficking, sex slavery, Satanic ritual abuse, and many other horrific crimes. Many of the children used for blackmail are programmed, and many of the people being blackmailed (including (sometimes future) politicians, leaders, presidents, etc.) are also programmed themselves.
"My personal belief, based on my experiences, is that over the years, more leaders were under mind control."
"Fritz Springmeier notes that 'It is a standard tactic of the Illuminati, their New World Order and its various branches to use fear and blackmail to bring people into line.' Cheryl Beck had a 'sexy Sadie' program that was used to blackmail government and military people as a child prostitute seductress. Cathy O’Brien’s daughter Kelly was 'being prostituted to the CIA for blackmail purposes.' Svali notes that using child prostitutes to blackmail political leadership outside of the Illuminati was very common."
"Beryl-Green said Epstein knew about MKULTRA. He was into mind-controlling victims and satanic ritual abuse (SRA). Epstein was into DNA mixing, human cloning and he knew about New World Order plans."
"This dirty game has been honed to a fine art, which is a standard feature of the Illuminati/intelligence groups. The CIA term for blackmail is an 'OK FIX.' When they use a person’s past sins to force someone to do something they refer to this as 'biographic leverage.' Any weak point in a person can and will be exploited. Sexual entrapment for blackmail is referred to as a 'HONEY TRAP'. Black widow alters are being trained and sent out for this purpose. In order to blackmail, or threaten, you have to have something to threaten the person with. Men are frequently entrapped by sexual behavior which is criminal. Sometimes they are also entrapped by murder. The Monarch slave will be allowed to have children so that they can be blackmailed into complying to save the children or grandchildren. The Monarch slave in turn may be used to blackmail others. Certain alters are trained in this. A Monarch Beta model is highly trained in seduction. Many politicians and ministers are operating under blackmail today. The extent that blackmail is being used by the NWO would boggle people’s minds. Porn films are taken of the Monarch victims, so that they can be used to blackmail the victim. Monarch victims are forced to commit ritual murders which are photographed and then used to blackmail the mind-controlled victim."
Intelligence agencies all over the world utilize blackmail, routinely employing and exploiting it as much as possible. It is an extremely important 'tool' of theirs. Operations are done to gather the incriminating evidence.
"Other 'neutralisations' verge on the bizarre. An individual who must remain nameless for a variety of reasons - but whose name is known to this writer - underwent an experience that is both horrific and chilling. I shall call this individual 'Mr. X' or, simply, 'X'. Mr. X was a leader of one of the largest CIA-backed Contra groups. He recently testified before the US Senate Intelligence Committee. Formerly, X was a senior executive in a South American subsidiary of a leading US soft drinks corporation. During his Senate testimony, he denied any knowledge of CIA involvement in the narcotics trade, adding that condoning such activity would have been foreign to his way of life. Not so, says Tatum. Mr. X had been recruited into the CIA by then-Director William Casey, with the assistance of Oliver North. In 1990, when Nicaraguan leader Daniel Ortega announced there would be 'free elections', X was ecstatic. He began jostling for position and asked President Bush to ensure he be given a prominent position in the new government - in return for his years of toil at the behest of the CIA and the Enterprise. The pressure came in a form that Bush could not ignore. Failure to help his friend would result in X's intimate knowledge of Bush's involvement in the dope trade being made public. His threat left Bush with a sour taste. A Pegasus team was assigned to 'neutralise' him in early 1990. Mr. X, Tatum states, 'fancied himself a lover of women. Tall, large-breasted blondes were his favourite. It was determined that, if effectively neutralised, [X] could be an asset. Therefore, it was decided that intimidation would be used to control [X].' They chose to use the drug Scopolamine, which also went by the nickname 'Burundanga' or 'the Voodoo drug'. The drug is extracted from the pods of a flowering shrub that grows in remote regions of South America. In its processed, powdered form, Scopolamine is 'void of smell, void of taste'. When properly administered 'it causes absolute obedience' without this being 'observable by others'. Importantly, the target will not recall any of the events that occurred during the period they were under the spell of the drug. Tatum states that X was invited to spend a relaxing weekend at a luxury hotel as a guest of his friend George Bush. His host for the weekend was a trusted 18-year veteran field-intelligence officer. The evening started with cocktails and was followed by a fine meal. ''Nothing but the best' were the orders.' Following the meal, he was ushered into the suite of a 'blonde bombshell' supplied by the CIA. Mr. X had already ingested a dose of Burundanga during pre-dinner cocktails. X was gallant with the blonde as they both moved into the bedroom where video cameras were already set up in one corner. In short order, the blonde had X standing naked in front of her and began to indulge his desires. All the while, the video cameras whirred. Slowly stripping off, the 'blonde' revealed his manhood in all its glory. Mr. X was instructed to reciprocate the favour and perform fellatio. He obliged, his intimate activities recorded at 24 frames a second on videotape. Tatum says the male prostitute was hired from a bar in New York and killed that same evening. Two weeks later, X - wholly unaware of the events of that evening - was visited in Nicaragua. He was presented with a copy of the video footage, along with instructions. Tatum says that X can never allow that video to be seen: 'Not only does it reveal his homosexuality, but it also reveals his bestiality and satanic worship rituals.' As frame after frame flicked by, X reportedly wept, forced to watch himself kill his homosexual 'lover' and then engage in the most grisly cannabalistic ritual imaginable. Neutralised, Mr. X became a leading member of the Nicaraguan government a few short weeks later."
"Check out the FBI records on Scarlett: What was his original HOOK that got him so deeply embedded into UK Illuminati culture? He murdered the nanny of Lord Lucan in the 1970's. Lucan wasn't actually involved. Scarlett got it wrong. He was under mind control at the time. How we all laughed on his training sessions when we heard that one. Not funny, really. We were all in the same boat. Each had something terrible attached to us, in our past. That is all part and parcel of the Illuminati contract. Young people forced under mind control to commit murder when young and then later on, picked up by British Intelligence to be used and abused as they wished - as loyal servants of the British Crown. One can only hope that by exposing these HOOKS, that some sort of amnesty can prevail. If these people are freed from the demonic Illuminati contract by exposing their HOOKS - one can only hope that they will come forward as a sizeable and influential body of political and public figures, in order to put an end to it. Here's hoping. Check out Rimington's hook to see what sort of mind ran MI5 for so long. It's a game called 'mafia' and it is ALL about blackmail."
"...He had previously signed off on Epstein’s 'sweetheart deal' because Epstein 'had belonged to intelligence.' Acosta, then serving as US attorney for Southern Florida, had also been told by unspecified figures at the time that he needed to give Epstein a lenient sentence because of his links to 'intelligence.'"
"Detective Rothstein found that the CIA were behind a blackmail operation in which child prostitutes were used to honey-trap and compromise politicians, military brass, top businessmen, and key government officials. Rothstein, who arrested the key Watergate perpetrator, said Watergate solely concerned this human compromise racket, and specifically was an attempt to obtain a list of compromised pedophile VIPs and their proclivities that was held at the Democratic National Headquarters."
"Michael Aquino was in the military. He had top Pentagon clearances. He was a pedophile. He was a Satanist. He founded the Temple of Set. And he was a close friend of Anton LaVey. The two of them were very active in ritualistic sexual abuse. And they deferred funding from this government program to use in this experimentation on children. Where they deliberately split off the personalities of these children into multiples, so that when they're questioned or put under oath or questioned under lie detector, that unless the operator knows how to question a multiple-personality disorder, they turn up with no evidence. They used these kids to sexually compromise politicians or anyone else they wish to have control of...they were taken to be used by professional pedophiles. People that have the money to buy what they want, take the kids wherever they want...and by splitting the children’s personalities they could then train each one of the personalities to do a different function. And the rest of the personalities within that host personality would not be aware of it or remember it."
"Vinson also told Nick Bryant that Spence and Larry King were 'partners' and 'hooked up with the CIA', stating specifically that 'King and Spence were in business together, and their business was pedophilic blackmail.' They were transporting children all over the country. They would arrange for children to be flown into Washington, DC and also arrange for influential people in DC to be flown out to the Midwest and meet these kids. Per Vinson, Larry King had confided in him that he had clients who liked to torture and even kill children: 'King said they had clients who actually liked having sex with kids as they tortured or killed the kid. I found that totally unbelievable.' After Vinson said this to Nick Bryant, he asked Bryant later on in the interview if King’s disclosure had indeed been true. He was unaware at the time that other evidence, including witness testimony, had suggested that it was."
"According to fugitive ex-CIA officer Frank Terpil, CIA-directed sexual blackmailing operations were intensive in Washington at about the time of the Watergate scandal. One of those operations, Terpil claims, was run by his former partner, Ed Wilson. Wilson's base of operations for arranging trysts for the politically powerful was, Terpil says, Korean agent Ton Sun Park’s George Town Club. In a letter to the author, Terpil explained that ‘Historically, one of Wilson’s Agency jobs was to subvert members of both houses [of Congress] by any means necessary. Certain people could be easily coerced by living out their sexual fantasies in the flesh...A remembrance of these occasions was permanently recorded via selected cameras...The technicians in charge of filming were TSD [Technical Services Division of the CIA]...The unwitting porno stars advanced in their political careers, some of whom may still be in office.'"
"Intelligence and counter intelligence ‘work’, and they ‘work together’ to create scenarios that are so unbelievable that they cannot be published in the mainstream media, and if they are, they will appear like a joke. The information to blackmail a country, to blackmail its politicians, to blackmail its Prime Ministers and Presidents, to blackmail its judges and lawyers is a very serious matter."
The Illuminati and other cults also engage in the same blackmail operations. There is a huge overlap between secret societies/cults and intelligence, with top intelligence usually being run by them. All of them do this.
"I was able to have first hand access to the Jeffrey Epstein case investigation documents. According to the documents, Epstein was the head of a global fraternity related to the Shriners called The Royal Order of Jesters. This order is covered with scandals and lawsuits related to human trafficking, but they are very protected because many members of the order are high-profile political figures and businessmen. It is crazy how these people manage to operate under the radar for so many years, decades...Now you may ask how they do this? Easy...By using blackmail tactics, they manage to have Judges and Law Enforcement licking their feet. That's how Jeffery Epstein got assassinated. After he was out of the game, the whole business is run by other people. Major names are involved and many high-profile people who are all bound to the order by means of blackmail. This is particularly disturbing when you find out that the cases of Catholic priests involved in sex scandals are events organized by The Order of Jesters. They run blackmail operations with the purpose of seducing people in power...With those videos in their power, the careers and the public image of many people are in the Jester's hands. They are free to do anything, they can turn even the President of the United States into a slave."
-- "Jeffrey Epstein Post" [7]
"Illuminati 'FROG ON A LILYPAD' programming: The FROG as a paedophile - with no 'tadpole tail/tale', as in no memory of what he/she has done until they get past 40 years old. It becomes clear that so many people were forced to be paedophiles and to abuse their children - only to wake up to all of this later on - post 40 years old. Then to have Stella Rimington on their doorstep with a videotape - telling them that she will send it to the police if they do not do precisely what she says. The ultimate blackmail weapons combined: A tape of you committing paedophilia - and even worse - incest with your own children. Guaranteed to 'silence' most people for life. The scope of this Illuminati blackmail project has been immense, in British society and it has to be exposed. There is safety in numbers."
"(Sue) Arrigo adds that the kids with the most smarts and/or looks, about 5% are skimmed off the top by the Luciferians in charge like the Bushes and used as either spies or corporate sex slaves or both. They’re typically pimped out on high priced loans to influential politicians as house boy and girls to ensure the puppets in Congress are happy and blackmail-able for control."
"The Masonic leadership of Freemasonry in a given area will have thousands of 'blackmail' files on essentially everyone of importance in their area. Upper echelon people such as judges, lawyers, and politicians are generally controlled via IRS infringements, and many of the lower echelon people are controlled through weird sexual items. This is where the Delta and Beta Monarch slaves are so helpful to the Illuminati. (This information comes from several witnesses who are informed about the blackmail files & their methods for blackmailing.)"
These people are already in power, and have set their system up so that nobody rises to a prominent, powerful, or influential position without being selected, extensively compromised, controllable, and usually under mind control. They are all 'in it together', and because of this they protect eachother. Most have 'insurance' on one another.
"The most common phrase associated with that one was ‘talk about the pot calling the kettle black’, meaning that each Illuminati slave had been caught on camera and from an early age – doing something terrible – as Rimington was fond of saying ‘we are all as bad as each other and all in it together.’"
"Oftentimes when I and others were prostituted to various government (New World Order) leaders, Dante had hidden cameras filming perverse sexual acts apparently for future blackmail leverage. These videos were scandalous in proportion and were usually ordered by Reagan. Dante turned the videos over to Reagan, and covertly kept copies to protect himself. Dante converted a small room of his Beverly Hills mansion into a security vault, where he kept his personal copies of the international blackmail porn tapes there. Blackmail was openly initiated to ensure that each criminal participant understood that if one fell, they all fell. Maintaining 'dirt' on each other through this Mafia-style method was seemingly the only way these criminals implementing the New World Order kept each other 'honest.'"
"The Watergate break-in was strictly based on one thing - the pedophile records that were being kept at the Democratic National Headquarters."
"In 1972, Rothstein arrested one of the five Watergate burglars, CIA operative Frank Sturgis. During a subsequent two-hour interrogation, Rothstein discovered the truth about Watergate (plus Sturgis’ and the CIA’s involvement in the Bay of Pigs incident, and the related assassination of JFK). Sturgis told Rothstein, the Watergate burglars sought something they nicknamed ‘The Book’ which listed the Democratic and Republican politicians who accessed child prostitutes, their sexual proclivities, the amounts they paid to rape kids, etc."
There are certain places known for this, two famous examples being Little St. James island or Bohemian Grove (there are many, many others).
"For those of you who are interested in Bohemian Grove and the current list upon the Internet of those poor unsuspecting 'invitees' who will be pressganged into going (and subsequently blackmailed out of their minds afterwards, by the Illuminati)...the entrapment going on at Bohemian Grove is of an avaricious and esoteric nature - in relation to all of those unlucky 'invitees' who want to join this 'prestigious club' but then get videoed doing things that they wouldn't want anyone to know about - 'guests' who are then subsequently blackmailed out of their brains...and for the rest of their lives. But then that was what the Illuminati cult and their Sat B'hai contract has always been about...promising that you would get everything for nothing (if you agreed to be unquestioningly obedient to the Crown) and that you would now be part of an 'esoteric' prestigious Satanic club."
"Numerous videos are covertly produced at the supposedly secure political sex playground in northern California, Bohemian Grove. High tech undetectable cameras use fiber optics, and fish-eye lenses were in each of the elite club's numerous sexual perversion theme rooms. I was programmed and equipped to function in all rooms at Bohemian Grove in order to compromise specific government targets according to their personal perversions. 'Anything, anytime, anywhere with anyone' was my mode of operation at the Grove. My perception is that Bohemian Grove serves those ushering in the New World Order through mind control, and consists primarily of the highest Mafia and U.S. Government officials. Project Monarch mind controlled slaves were routinely abused there to fulfill the primary purpose of the club: purveying perversion. Bohemian Grove is reportedly intended to be used recreationally, providing a supposedly secure environment for politically affluent individuals to 'party' without restraint. The only business conducted there pertained to implementing the New World Order, through the proliferation of mind-control atrocities, giving the place an air of 'Masonic Secrecy'. The only room where business discussions were permitted was the small, dark lounge affectionately and appropriately referred to as the Underground. The wooden sign was carved to read: 'U.N.DERGROUND'. My purpose at the Grove was sexual in nature, and therefore my perceptions were limited to a sex slave's viewpoint. As an effective means of control to ensure undetected proliferation of their perverse indulgences, slaves such as myself were subjected to ritualistic trauma. Slaves of advancing age or with failing programming were sacrificially murdered 'at random' in the wooded grounds of Bohemian Grave, and I felt it was 'simply a matter of time until it would be me'. Rituals were held at a giant, concrete owl monument on the banks of the Russian River. These occultish sex rituals stemmed from the scientific belief that mind-controlled slaves required severe trauma to ensure compartmentalization of the memory. I witnessed the sacrificial death of a young, dark-haired victim at which time I was instructed to perform sexually 'as though my life depended upon it'. I was told, 'The next sacrifice victim could be you.' The club offered a 'Necrophilia' themed room to its members. I was so heavily drugged and programmed when used in the 'necrophilia' room, that the threat of actually 'slipping through death's door' and being sacrificed 'before I knew it' did not affect me. Other perversion theme rooms at the Bohemian Club included what I heard Ford refer to as the 'Dark Room'. When he not so cleverly said, 'Let's go to the Dark Room and see what develops,' I understood from experience that he was interested in indulging in his perverse obsession for pornography. In the Dark Room, members had sex with the same mind-controlled slave they were viewing in porn on a big screen television. There was a triangular glass display centered in a main through way where I was locked in with various trained animals, including snakes. Members walking by watched illicit sex acts of bestiality, women with women, mothers with daughters, kids with kids, or any other unlimited perverse visual display. I was once brutally assaulted by Dick Cheney in the Leather Room, which was designed like a dark, black leather-lined train berth. There was a room of shackles and tortures, black lights and strobes, an opium den, ritualistic sex altars, a chapel, group orgy rooms including poster beds, water beds, and 'kitten' houses. I was used as a 'rag doll' in the 'toy store,' and as a urinal in the 'golden arches' room. From the owl's roost to the necrophilia room, no memory of sexual abuse is as horrifying as the conversations overheard in the Underground pertaining to implementing the New World Order. I learned that perpetrators believed that controlling the masses through propaganda mind manipulation did not guarantee there would be a world left to dominate due to environmental and overpopulation problems. The solution being debated was not pollution/population control, but mass genocide of 'selected undesirables'."
News 'headlines' with hidden symbolic communication are also used by intelligence and other groups, many times referring to blackmail (among the many other varieties of covert operations).
"'Nuclear' is a comm used all over the world to symbolize extraordinarily explosive information, like blackmail. Which is why if we reconcile blackmail with news about nuclear, a secret truth will become clear. The two most powerful blackmailers ever? That would probably be Jeffrey Epstein and Hugh Hefner. And this is why the deaths of blackmailers like Hugh Hefner and Jeffrey Epstein both coincided with 'Nuclear Accidents':"
08/09/2019 Is Putin covering up a Nuclear disaster?
09/26/2017 Nuclear explosion kept secret by Russia
"Why are CIA blackmailers dying the day after Russia declares nuclear accidents? The reason for the -1 day in Epstein’s case is they likely died before the official day, and these comms were to give agents a heads up on the upcoming BOOM before it hits papers. In Hefners case they had to signal people to move the blackmail. The point as stated is a lot of 'nuclear' is all about blackmail. Not all of it, but a lot of it."
Blackmail is a worldwide 'practice', with all countries and their governments engaging in aquiring and utilizing it to the fullest.
"Just as the 1986 Mirano scandal, the X-Dossiers contain evidence that sexual blackmail operations, whoever is running them, are not limited to the United States. In 1996, X1 reported how the same activities had been going on in Brussels."
"As the bewildered Belgians tried to make sense of what was going on, incredible rumours began circulating that Dutroux might have been protected in some way, that he had friends in high places. Pornographic videos taken from his home were said to feature prominent individuals, one a senior member of the Roman Catholic church. It almost defied belief. Who would protect a psychopath, other than people with something truly terrible to hide?...'It is quite obvious,' said Katarin de Clercq, Belgian coordinator of the pressure group End Child Prostitution Abduction and Trafficking, 'that some people were protecting Dutroux. The government tried to convince us that he was a lone serial killer and psychopath, but now we hear stories about unnamed famous personalities being involved in sex orgies and blackmail and pornographic video tapes. People feel that something is completely wrong here and we have to show we will not tolerate it.'"
"I was unfortunate enough to attend the IHS Templar Castle rite in 2001. Amongst the people in attendence were: J. K. Rowling. Gordon Brown. David Miliband. Stephen Daldry. Stella Rimington (she was the Dr. Mengele of the organisation, organising the torture and murder of kidnapped children). Dr. Joanne Collie. Andrew Marr (he spent most of the time naked and screaming - off his head on some form of narcotic). John Scarlett (he was so drunk/drugged up that he had very little idea of what was going on around him). The Templars had captured a large amount of people whom they called the 'snakes' i.e. slaves in a large dungeon underneath the castle. One brave person managed to set them free and the result in the neighbouring village of Mons and other places nearby, ensured that the British Army had to move in. Thus began the most incredible cover-up in recent European history. It was like WACO, Guyana. I was one of the 'slaves' taken at that castle but subsequently freed by the British Army (who also know what happened - a MASSIVE cover-up). The British Army ordered those in the Castle to come out. They then sent a tank in to bulldoze the walls. Prince Philip and Prince William were in that Castle. Both of them had murdered countless tiny children in their rites. The British Army assembled watched as both walked out with large, dark, woven potato sacks over their heads. They were then bundled into a van and driven away. The name SPUDNIKS was coined because Prince Philip and Prince William had to exit the castle with potato sacks pulled down over their heads and bodies. The British Army present at the time - may or may not have had any idea who they were but the SIS general there, certainly did. They might have managed to cover it up regarding the ordinary soldiers there but the videotapes are now on sale worldwide. The whole event had been closely monitored for blackmail purposes."
The CIA also blackmails incestual/pedophilic parents for their children to use in trauma-based mind control slave projects like MONARCH.
"My Uncle Bob, also implicated in manufacturing the porn, out of apparent desperation informed my father of a U.S. Government Defense Intelligence Agency TOP SECRET Project to which he was privy. This was Project Monarch. Project Monarch was a mind-control operation which was 'recruiting' multigenerational incest abused children with Multiple Personality Disorder for its genetic mind-control studies. I was a prime 'candidate,' a 'chosen one'. My father seized the opportunity as it would provide him immunity from prosecution."
"The expendables are the children of parents who were blackmailed into turning their children over to the CIA. This is all hidden by the power of the National Security Act. These are children, who have been sold by pedophile fathers, or pornographic parents. The programmers/masters program them with the expectation that they will be "thrown from the freedom train" when they get to age 30. (Freedom Train is the code word for the Monarch trauma-based mind-control. To be thrown from the Freedom Train means to be killed.) The CIA and the Illuminati are skilled at blackmailing parents to give up their children. They would watch the mail for porn. Pedophile and murderers who abuse their children are warned that they will go to prison for long lengths of time if they do not cooperate by selling their children into mind-controlled slavery. In return for the parent’s cooperation, they provide rich financial rewards to the parent(s). It’s clearly a case of 'if you don’t cooperate you lose in life big time, if you do cooperate you win big time.'"
Blackmail is the glue holding together all of the sick people in charge, and is the one of the top methods of control. This is the truth: blackmail, pedophilia, and mind control are how this world is really run.
"Former CIA director William Colby giving advice to John DeCamp, urging him to quit his investigations into the Franklin child abuse affair:"
"'What you have to understand, John, is that sometimes there are forces and events too big, too powerful, with so much at stake for other people or institutions, that you cannot do anything about them, no matter how evil or wrong they are and no matter how dedicated or sincere you are or how much evidence you have. This is simply one of the hard facts of life you have to face.'"
"Again, it’s built in, entrenched foxes guarding the predatory henhouse that permeate all levels of government, military, courts, law enforcement, entertainment and news media, corporate global finance and education. With pedophile puppet masters controlling the pedophile puppet strings of blackmailed, compromised and controlled Western politicians, courts and law enforcement, their diabolical infrastructure has afforded them living above the law continuing to rape and kill our innocents for centuries."

2023.06.02 00:04 protocol_ouroboros Who is old man consequences?

I have a question. who is old man consequence? I understand he is the crocodile man in FNAF world and UCN, but WHO is he? What does he represent and why is he there?
What I have managed to gather is he appears in FNAF world when you go ’to deep in the code’, in UCN when you beat him on one, he seems to be able to rip Cassidy out of UCN and tried to persuade her to stop torturing William. He seems to be important enough for Cassidy to exclude him in UCN and is maybe on a similar ‘power level’ as Cassidy, if not more as he rips her out of UCN as previously mentioned. The only way to escape him is to drown.
Only one person has made a video in youtube about it and they think he is Henry but I’m not convinced. I would love for someone to help.

However, starting a business in Toronto also comes with challenges. Toronto is a competitive market, and you need a solid business plan and a unique value proposition to stand out from the competition. It would be best if you also were prepared for the high cost of living and doing business in Toronto.
Whether you are a seasoned entrepreneur or a first-time business owner, there are many factors to consider when starting a business in Toronto. This comprehensive guide will provide you with all the information and resources you need to start a business in Toronto, Canada.

Step 1: Identify Your Business Idea

The first step in identifying a business idea is to conduct market research. This affects gathering information about your target market, including their needs, preferences, and behaviors. It would be best to research your competitors to determine what products or services they offer, how they price their offerings, and how they market their business.
Once you understand the market well, you can start brainstorming potential business ideas. It’s important to consider your skills, knowledge, and experience when developing ideas. It would be best to think about your passions and interests, as starting a business in a field you are passionate about can make the process more enjoyable and rewarding.
When considering potential business ideas, it’s important to focus on scalable ones that can be profitable in the long run. It would be best if you also thought about the level of competition in the market and the barriers to entry, such as legal requirements or licensing.
One approach to identifying a viable business idea is to look for unmet needs or underserved markets. For example, you may identify a new product or service need in a particular niche market. Alternatively, you may see an opportunity to improve upon an existing product or service by offering better quality, lower prices, or more convenient delivery.
Another approach is to look for trends or changes in the market that may create new opportunities. For example, you may identify a growing demand for environmentally-friendly products or services or a shift in consumer behavior toward online shopping or mobile devices.
When you have identified a potential business idea, testing it before investing too much time and money is important. This may involve creating a prototype or minimum viable product, conducting market research or surveys, or running a small-scale pilot program.
Ultimately, the success of your business will depend on many factors, including the quality of your product or service, your ability to market and sell it effectively, and your ability to manage finances and operations. However, by taking the time to identify a viable business idea, you can increase your chances of success and build a business that meets your goals and aspirations.

Step 2: Conduct Market Research

Market research is a vital step in starting a business. It helps you to understand your target audience, the competition in the market, and the current market trends. With this information, you can create a business plan tailored to meet your target audience’s needs and ensure that your business is competitive in the market.
Identify a Viable Business Idea
Before conducting market research, you need to identify a viable business idea. This can be an idea that you have been considering for a while or something new that you have come up with. You can use your experience, expertise, research, and analysis to identify a viable business idea. The key is to ensure that the idea is viable and has the potential to be successful.
Gather Information About Your Target Audience
Once you have recognized a viable business idea, you must gather information about your target audience. This includes understanding their needs, preferences, and behaviors. You can gather this information by conducting surveys, focus groups, or by analyzing available data. This information will help you create a product or service tailored to meet your target audience’s needs.
Analyse Your Competitors
Another important aspect of market research is analyzing your competitors. This involves understanding your competitors, their products or services, and how they position themselves in the market. You can gather this information by conducting online research, attending industry events, or speaking to people in the industry. This information will help you identify opportunities and gaps in the market and create a competitive and differentiated business.
Understand Market Trends
Finally, it is important to understand current market trends. This includes understanding the broader economic, social, and technological trends impacting the market. You can gather this information by reading industry publications, attending industry events, and monitoring social media and other online channels. This information will help you to identify opportunities and threats in the market and to adapt your business strategy accordingly.

Step 3: Develop a Business Plan
Developing a business plan is vital for any entrepreneur looking to start or grow their business. A well-crafted business plan can serve as a roadmap to success and help you navigate potential pitfalls. In this blog post, we’ll explore the key components of a business plan and offer tips on creating one that works for you.
First and foremost, a business plan should outline your business goals. These goals should be clear, measurable, and achievable. For example, your goal might be to increase sales by 20% over the next year. Once you have established yourc goals, you can start to develop strategies to achieve them.
When developing your business strategies, it is essential to consider your target market. Who are your ideal customers, and what are their needs? How can you meet those needs better than your competitors? This information will help you develop a marketing plan tailored to your target audience.
In addition to your business goals and strategies, your business plan should include financial projections. This includes revenue projections, cash flow projections, and profit and loss statements. It is crucial to be realistic when developing your financial projections, as these numbers will be used to secure funding and attract investors.
Another critical aspect of your business plan is a description of potential challenges and how you plan to overcome them. This might include market fluctuations, changing regulations, or unexpected expenses. By anticipating potential challenges, you can develop contingency plans to help you stay on track even when things don’t go as planned.
Finally, it is essential to have a solid understanding of your industry and competition. This means researching industry trends, analyzing competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, and identifying growth opportunities. By staying informed and adapting to changes in your industry, you can position your business for long-term success.

Step 4: Register Your Business

When starting a business, one essential step is registering your business with the government. This process varies depending on the location of your business, but in Toronto, there are main options for registering your business: Ownr.co.
Business Name
The first step in registering your business is choosing a business name. Your business name should be unique and memorable and reflect your brand’s values and goals. You will need to check the availability of your chosen business name before registering it. This can be done through a name search on the Ownr.co website.
Business Number
After choosing a business name, you must register for a Business Number (BN). A BN is a unique nine-digit identifier the government uses to identify your business for tax purposes. Register for a BN through the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) website.
License and Permit
Once you have a BN, you must obtain the licenses and permits to operate your business legally. The licenses and permits you need will depend on the type of business you are starting and your business location. You can find information on the licenses and permits on the Ownr.co website.

Step 5: Secure Funding

Starting a business can be costly, and obtaining funding is crucial to launching your business. Entrepreneurs in Toronto have various funding options, including government grants and loans, venture capital, and angel investors.
Government grants and loans
Government grants and loans are among the most popular funding options for entrepreneurs in Toronto. The Canadian government funds small businesses through programs like the Canada Small Business Financing Program and the Canadian Innovation Program. These programs offer funding to startups working on innovative projects or creating jobs in their communities.
Venture capital
Venture capital is another funding option for entrepreneurs in Toronto. Venture capitalists are investors who fund startups in exchange for equity in the company. These investors are typically interested in high-growth startups with potential significant returns. In Toronto, many venture capital firms specialize in investing in startups, including OMERS Ventures and Georgian Partners.
Angel investors
Angel investors are also a popular funding option for entrepreneurs in Toronto. Angel investors are high net worth individuals who fund startups in exchange for equity in the company. They are often more willing to take risks than traditional investors and are interested in supporting innovative startups. In Toronto, many angel investor groups, such as Maple Leaf Angels and Golden Triangle Angel Network, provide funding to startups.

Step 6: Hire Employees

Hiring employees can be a daunting task for many small business owners. It involves a lot of planning, preparation, and legal compliance. However, hiring the right people can also be one of the most rewarding experiences for a business owner, leading to increased productivity, better customer service, and higher profits. This blog post will discuss the important things you need to know when hiring employees.
Employment laws
First, you must familiarize yourself with the employment laws and regulations that apply to your business. The Government of Canada website offers information on minimum wage, overtime pay, vacation time, and termination pay. You should also consult with a lawyer or an HR specialist to ensure you comply with all the legal requirements.
Hiring plan
Once you have a right understanding of the legal framework, you can start creating your hiring plan. This should include a job description that outlines the responsibilities, qualifications, and experience required for the position. It would be best to determine the salary range and benefits package you can offer.
Job advertising
When you start advertising the position, make sure to use a variety of channels, such as online job boards, social media, and networking events. This will help you reach a wider pool of candidates and increase your possibilities of finding the right fit for your business.
As the applications start, you should review them carefully and shortlist the candidates that meet your criteria. You can then schedule interviews with them in person or through video conferencing. During the interview, ask questions relevant to the job and assess the candidate’s skills, experience, and personality.
job offer
Once you have decided on who to hire, you should make a job offer that includes the terms and conditions of employment. This should also include any probationary period or performance expectations. Make sure to communicate clearly with the candidate and answer any questions they may have.
Train New Employment
After the new employee starts, it is important to provide them with an orientation and training program. This should include an introduction to the company culture, policies, procedures, and specific job training. It is also a good idea to assign a mentor or supervisor who can provide guidance and support during onboarding.
Employee Policy
Finally, consider creating an employee handbook outlining your company policies and procedures. This should include attendance, vacation time, sick leave, and performance expectations. Having a clear and consistent set of policies can help avoid misunderstandings and conflicts in the workplace.

Step 7: Market Your Business

Marketing is key to any business’s success. Once your business is operational, you must devise a marketing plan to connect with your target audience. You can access resources such as Toronto.ca, Inc.com, and HubSpot to learn about marketing strategies and best practices.
Marketing involves determining the right mix of products, prices, promotions, and place to reach your target market. Understanding your audience’s demographics, interests, and behaviors is essential in developing an effective marketing plan. By doing so, you can tailor your messaging and promotions to appeal to their specific needs and preferences.
Your marketing plan should include a mix of online and offline marketing tactics. Online marketing includes search engine optimization (SEO), social media marketing, email marketing, and online advertising. Offline marketing includes tactics such as print advertising, events, and direct mail.
Search engine optimization (SEO)
Search engine optimization (SEO) is optimizing your website to improve its visibility in search engine results pages (SERPs). Optimizing your website’s content, structure, and code can improve your rankings for relevant search queries, driving more organic traffic to your site.
Social media marketing
Social media marketing involves promoting your business on social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn. Creating and sharing engaging content can build a following and connect with potential customers.
Email marketing
Email marketing affects sending promotional emails to your email list. By crafting compelling subject lines and messages, you can encourage your subscribers to act, such as purchasing or signing up for a newsletter.
Online advertising
Online advertising involves paying for ads on search engines or social media platforms to drive traffic to your site. You can reach your ideal customers and increase your brand’s visibility by targeting specific keywords or audience demographics.
Print advertising
Print advertising involves placing ads in newspapers, magazines, or other print media. By creating eye-catching ads and targeting publications that are read by your target audience, you can increase brand awareness and drive traffic to your website.
Business Events
Trade shows or community events allow you to showcase your products or services to a live audience. You can attract potential clients and generate leads by creating engaging displays and promotional materials.
Direct Mail
Direct mail involves sending promotional materials, such as flyers or postcards, to a targeted audience. You can reach potential customers who have yet to hear of your business by targeting specific demographics or geographic areas.
Are you looking to increase brand awareness, generate leads, or increase sales? You must first determine your marketing goals and objectives to create an effective marketing plan. Once you have identified your goals, you can develop strategies.
Your marketing plan should also include a budget and a timeline for implementing your tactics. Setting realistic goals and budgets ensures your marketing efforts align with your overall business strategy.

Step 8: Get Help

Starting a business is a challenging endeavor that requires great determination, hard work, and, most importantly, a solid support system. The Government of Canada website offers resources and support for entrepreneurs, which can be incredibly valuable when starting a new business.
One of the most critical resources available to entrepreneurs is mentorship programs. These programs provide new business owners with guidance and support from experienced entrepreneurs who have already started a business. This support can be invaluable, as it can help new business owners avoid common pitfalls and make informed decisions.
In addition to mentorship programs, the Government of Canada website also offers networking events and workshops. These events are an excellent opportunity for entrepreneurs to connect with other business owners, share ideas, and gain valuable insights into the business world. Attending these events can also help entrepreneurs build their professional network, which can be crucial for future success.
Business associations and chambers of commerce are other valuable resource for entrepreneurs. These organizations provide a forum for entrepreneurs to connect with other business owners in their community and gain access to resources and information that can help them grow their businesses. A business association or chamber of commerce member can also help entrepreneurs establish themselves as credible and trustworthy business owners in their community.
Starting a business can be daunting, but with the right support and resources, it can also be incredibly rewarding. By taking advantage of mentorship programs, networking events, and workshops, as well as joining business associations and chambers of commerce, entrepreneurs can build the support system they need to succeed. The Government of Canada website is an excellent place to start when looking for resources and support for entrepreneurs.
One of the most significant benefits of seeking support and resources from the Government of Canada website is that these resources are often available free of charge. This is particularly important for new business owners operating on a tight budget. By taking advantage of these resources, entrepreneurs can access the information and support they need to start and grow their businesses without breaking the bank.
Another benefit of seeking support from the Government of Canada website is that the information and resources are often tailored to Canadian entrepreneurs. This means entrepreneurs can access information and resources relevant to their needs and challenges. For example, Canadian entrepreneurs may face unique challenges when navigating government regulations or accessing financing. The Government of Canada website resources can help them overcome these challenges.

Step 9: Find a Location

Choosing the ideal location for your business is essential to its success. You must take into account several factors, such as traffic and accessibility. Fortunately, the City of Toronto website has numerous resources to help you locate the perfect spot for your business.
When selecting a location, you must first determine your business type. A retail store, for example, will require a different location than a manufacturing facility. Your target market is also an important consideration, as you will want to choose a location that is easily accessible to them.
Traffic is critical to the success of a retail store. You must choose a location where there is a lot of pedestrian traffic. Consider the area’s demographics when selecting a location for your business.
Accessibility is also important. Your location should be easily accessible to your customers, whether they are arriving by car or public transportation. Choosing a location that is difficult to access will deter potential customers from visiting your business.
Competition is another factor to consider when selecting a location. If several businesses in the area already offer the same products or services as yours, it may be challenging to attract customers. It may be more advantageous to choose a location with less competition or to differentiate your business in some way to stand out.
Once you have identified a suitable location, you must set up your business operations. This includes establishing a business bank account, obtaining insurance, and creating an accounting system.
Business Bank
A business bank account is necessary for separating your business and personal finances. It will also make tracking your business’s expenses and revenue easier.
Insurance
Insurance is also crucial for protecting your business against unexpected theft, damage, or liability. It would be best to speak with an insurance agent to determine what types of insurance your business requires.
accounting system
An accounting system is necessary for managing your business’s finances. It will help you keep track of your expenses and revenue and generate financial statements and reports. You can use accounting software or hire an accountant to manage your financial operations.
By following these steps and utilizing the resources available, you can start and grow a successful business that can help you achieve your entrepreneurial dreams.
Starting a business in Toronto, Canada, can be a challenging but rewarding experience. By following the steps outlined in this manual and utilizing the resources available, you can start and grow a successful business in Toronto. Remember to conduct market research, develop a solid business plan, register your business, secure funding, hire employees, market your business effectively, find the right location, set up your business operations, and seek help when needed. Good luck on your entrepreneurial journey!

Hello Miami visitors,
This is a megathread for all tourism, nightlife, and moving related questions.
Why this megathread? We've had an influx of people deciding to move to or visit Miami and it quickly overwhelms the subreddit. All questions related to those categories should live in this megathread so as to not overwhelm the main page with these types of posts. These types of questions are more than welcome! They just belong here. But considering the world class city Miami is and becoming, they would inundate and deluge the community related posts in the main sub. There is not a guarantee the community will always respond, but several do along with a few of the mod team.
BEFORE SUBMITTING A QUESTION HERE, PLEASE READ HERE!
Follow the most important rule in our sub "Be Excellent to Each Other." If you find a comment that is out of line, please use the report button or message the mods with a link. Thanks.

2023.06.01 13:40 Financial-Current289 Purpose of chartering organizations in the new BSA

Hello,
I have often wondered the purpose of being involved with chartering organizations at the unit level of the BSA. I do understand that the Chartering Organization is meant to "own" the units, and that the reason for being involved with charters is so that local organizations can be out there interacting with the community.
In my time in scouting, however, I have not been impressed with the chartering relationships. I see many shortcomings:
  1. Charters can become too involved: The BSA is a national organization with comprehensive standards, rules, a culture and code of conduct that spans 50 states and hundreds of thousands of members. There is no reason that the national program should be tempered, altered or disturbed by the desires of a local charity organization that has its own priorities. The COR is an important figure to a unit with unwieldy power to approve or disapprove of unit leadership. The COR is not necessarily a respected figure in scouting and may simply be a person that a charter sticks in the position.
  2. Charters, in their own self-interest, are divesting themselves from Scouting at an alarming rate: We have all heard stories of this or that organization (the Moose, the Elks, the Schools, etc) deciding that they are in one year, and out the next. The unpredictable nature of finding and working with a charter is not something that people had to face at the peak of scouting in the 60's and 70's. Additionally, the culture of community clubs in general has sharply declined in America. Therefore, the pool of available charters has decreased, with a constant fear of charters deciding to "pull the rug out" from a unit.
In short, I feel that the great benefits of involving local charities in the program reached a peak a long time ago, and these benefits no longer exist.
I believe that with the bankruptcy behind us, a new path forward should be charted in which the BSA adopts a model of direct chartering from units to the area Councils. I believe that this can be a modernizing approach, with the following benefits:
  1. The council, as the charter, can provide a consistent and high-quality program to each unit with no interference from non-scouters: council personnel can be delegated to replace the COR as a "key-three" person. Council personnel are respected, seasoned, and can establish a direct line of management from the council leadership to the unit.
  2. The council, as the charter, can provide stability that is currently lacking from the current charter arrangement.
  3. The council, as the charter, can assess and spread resources (in both people and money, where appropriate) from unit to unit. This will be possible because the council has a birds-eye view of their organization.
  4. The council, as the charter, will be able to organize units for girls without impediment from charters that, while eager to sponsor boy scout units, refuse to modernize with our program and charter units for girls.
In short, I believe that the organization should pivot in this direction as part of it's new 20-year lookahead plan.
I'm interested in your thoughts, both pro's and con's for keeping or leaving the charter model.

Oc’s for my FNAF inspired thingy bc I’m getting my FANF phase back-
Names:
Dead girl: Autumn (She/Her)
Security Guard: Annabelle (She/Her)
Dead but evil woman: [email protected] {Name is hidden for some reason..} (She/Her)
Tall, creepy ass animatronic: Ghost (It/Itself)
Black haired animatronic: Jester (Any pronouns)
White haired animatronic: Void (Any pronouns)
{Note: Never relate Ghost to a individual person, it has done…horrible things..}
——————————————————
Heres some fun facts but some aren’t so fun:
•You see Milkweed here, which means that it in her planet (Planet Ursa).
•Ghost has done traumatizing things to adults and children, don’t sympathize it.
•Jester and Void act like siblings sometimes-
[email protected] killed Annabelle’s kid (Autumn)
•Annabelle works at the place to look for her daughter because she’s in denial that she’s dead (she also doesn’t know that she has died-).
[email protected] is the definition of “I support women’s rights and women’s wrongs” as she did some amazing things but again, killed Annabelle’s child.
•Jester is the crazy one in the band, it don’t know how to control themself-
•Void zones out when Jester is doing it’s shenanigans as they don’t want to even interact with them.
•These are inspired by weird core shit, that’s why it cute and creepy mixed to it’s traumatizing.
[email protected] will never get redemption, she is evil just for the fun. She didn’t care about unaliving Autumn as she then hid the body in Void, which made a horrible smell come from Void. The restaurant closed not even a month after its opening.
•Do you know who killed [email protected]??? It was Ghost, you would probably expect Void since Autumn’s soul is in her but no, it was Ghost. Why? It has teeth, sharp teeth, and bit [email protected]’s head. That’s why her complete head doesn’t show, she lost her mind (literally)
•I will make nightmare versions of them and Victor will have nightmares of them 😍👍
•These aren’t my first time making FNAF inspired animatronics and storylines, I’ve done some in the past but I don’t want to talk about that-
•Annabelle works as a security guard there btw, and she doesn’t die lol-
•No one knows why Ghost bit [email protected]’s head, it’s literally a lifeless animatronic, it got no reason to bite its owner’s head off. Though, it might be that it fell on [email protected]’s head and bit it off….she still deserved it tho-
•Last one, Autumn doesn’t have her antlers bc she was killed before she could grow them.
That’s all, now to make the nightmare versions of them as my slots in Gacha Club are full 🥰🥰🥰👍👍

2023.06.01 04:59 jonzey Anthony Di Pietro steps down as Victory Chairman

Statement sent to members
Dear Victory family,
As we reflect on last season, there is no doubt that for a myriad of reasons, in a year that started with so much potential and a genuine desire to ‘want more’, we did not achieve the goals we set for ourselves, let alone those that our members, fans, partners, shareholders and community had for us, and deserve.
Without recounting all the difficulties we faced, now is the time to draw a line in the sand, learn from our experiences and move forward together and I will be helping to do that, in the stands with you.
As this season draws to a close, due to both my upcoming business commitments and the confidence I have in Victory’s platform for growth, I have advised the Board that I will be retiring as Club Chair and subsequently stepping away from official Club duties. I will of course continue as a passionate and committed major shareholder, member and fan and most importantly, a strong supporter of the Board, management and Club moving forward.
Over the journey we have enjoyed many highs and battled many challenges, but we are standing on a strong platform for the future.
Melbourne Victory is now part of an international strategic partnership through 777 Partners, our Men’s and Women’s pathway programs link from grassroots to international and our ability to recruit players, coaches and support staff is in the best position it has ever been.
Our Coaches and Director of Football are currently with our 777 Partners in both South America and Europe, steadfastly preparing for the next season, where they will leave no stone unturned to better the Club.
Our community programs are the most comprehensive we have seen with a focus to live our vision of leading, uniting, connecting and inspiring through football. Importantly, we continue to herald inclusion and diversity in football through our support and investment in the Afghan Women’s Team – which is something every member of the Melbourne Victory family should be proud of.
This is a unique Club, and I have met and worked with some fantastic people, all of whom have shaped Melbourne Victory and I’ll forever be grateful. This Club is passionate, dedicated and committed to achieving successes for many generations to come.
There is no doubt that challenges lie ahead, both for the league and the Club. Of course, there is much work to be done in order to build the visibility of this Code, but we have all the ingredients we need to make the journey successful including the Women’s World Cup on our doorstep. I believe the future of football is bright.
Finally, I would like you to join me in congratulating John Dovaston, who has been appointed by the Board as the new Club Chair. John has been an independent Director for the past eight years and will bring a new dynamic and energy to the role.
John has played an instrumental role in the development of our Academy programs, which we are starting to yield success and understands what makes Victory so special. He will also be the Club’s first independent, non-shareholder, Chairperson.
I wish him the best as he leads Melbourne Victory into its next chapter and I am looking forward to supporting him as a shareholder, member and fan as the Club prepares for a fresh start ahead of season 2023/24.
It is time to block out the noise and for all the Victory faithful to stand tall together and make the Club and the competition stronger than ever.
I will forever be grateful for the privilege of being Chairman and a part of this Club’s journey.
As always…
Go Victory!

2023.06.01 03:49 gx1400 Poor experience with Retevis RT3S GPS handheld. Returned to Amazon!

After playing with my brother's DMR radio I decided to get a cheap DMR radio to play with at home. I settled on the Retevis RT3S GPS from Amazon, which I received this week and quickly set to getting it functional.
I'm sure my issues could be settled as user error, but I also imagine someone may buy this same radio and be looking for solutions. I'm posting this to document my experience.
Issues:
  1. My first qualm was trying to find the programming software. Initially I went to Retevis' website and I maddeningly could NOT find any links to support pages or firmware/software downloads. While typing this, I went back to the Product page and see the support links there now, so looks like maybe that is fixed.
  2. I found a USB driver and the CPS software on Ailunce's ResourceCenter but the firmware on the RT3S is version 18.11, whereas my radio came loaded with S019.006 (19.06).
  3. After loading the software, I got a code plug loaded and started trying to test, I ran into some more issues.
  4. Every zone had "Undefined." on the screen. Googling, found that a zone needs something in both VFO A and VFO B, or else the firmware has issues. It seems to be undocumented. Added items to all the zones on both A & B, that was resolved.
  5. After booting, when in MR mode, I couldn't get the frequency to change over to my channel settings. It was stuck on some default and was unchanging. More googling and there was a suggestion to turn off the radio, hold the lower monitor button, then turn the radio back on. This appeared to "unlock" the frequency and allowed the code to function. It worked, but I don't know why. Not sure if it was a firmware bug, or an undocumented feature, or what, but it makes no sense, I'm not sure what was wrong or how it was resolved. I think the M/Monitor key plus power on resolved it but I'm not sure.
  6. I got a basic code plug working, connected to some talk groups on my Pi Star, seemed ok. Next step was loading some contacts. I found that any time I tried to load the csv file of DMR contacts and got an "Excel error."; again google away and looks like CPS requires the user to have Microsoft Excel installed on their computer to load the csv file...
  7. So I download Microsoft Office for a trial, load back up CPS, it loads the csv; but promptly returns 'firmware error', no other information. This was my breaking point.
  8. I emailed Retevis asking for firmware, I don't remember exactly what I typed in their webform but I know I said that my radio was an RT3S w/ GPS, and that it currently had S019.006 in the info page. Their responses:
thank you for your contact.Hope you’re well.
For your question, we need to know your order id to check if yours is GPS version, and then send you the corresponding firmware. Please log in your amazon account, then go to the order page to find your order ID.
By the way, could you tell us how and where you use the radio? What is the range and acreage did you use? And could you tell us which function of the walkie-talkie do you think is the most important? Such as distance, lightweight or durable, etc.?
This is a big help for us and helps us to make a better product for you. Thanks in advance.
Any questions, you can continue to contact us, we will try our best to help.
Have a good day.:)
My response:
After my difficulties navigating Retevis's software and website, I have decided to return the radio to Amazon.
Their response:
thank you for your reply. Sorry for the inconvenience caused to you, please know that the Retevis official website you contacted is not responsible for your after-sales, we are responsible. Although we are a company, not a department, we are the only Amazon offline after-sales. I'm sorry for the communication inconvenience this caused you, but please know that we want to solve your problems and provide assistance. Here's the firmware you need, since I don't know if the one you bought has GPS or not, I've attached it all, here's the link: http://xx.yy.zz.uu/soft/RT3S(CSV)-V19.20.bin http://xx.yy.zz.uu/soft/RT3S(REC)-D19.20.bin http://xx.yy.zz.uu/soft/RT3S(CSV-GPS)-P19.20.bin http://xx.yy.zz.uu/soft/RT3S(GPS-REC)-S19.20.bin Software: http://xx.yy.zz.uu/soft/FirmwareDownloadV3.04_EN.exe Hope you can give us another chance to solve your problem, we are friendly and kind and will provide you with personalized service. Thank you for your understanding and support, if possible, could you tell us your order id?Thanks very much. Waiting for your reply.
Note - I redacted the IP address, but not that it is a seemingly random unsecured IP address.
All in all, I was frustrated by the experience enough to return the radio to Amazon. Note that as I type this, the support link on the Retevis website is back and functional, but it definitely was not yesterday.

2023.05.31 19:09 alexanderb35 Read between the lines. Part 1: drug laws. Part 2: interacting with police. Summary

Mtl law book
Controlled drugs and substances act, cdsa. Substances on this list are controlled substances. Schedules are categories substances fall into
If lose case can be deported
If you possess over the legal limit of pot can be imprisoned post 2018 still. 2018 is when pot was legalized.
There are provincial and federal laws
The police arrest but the crown charges. Crown can charge for a different crime then police arrested for.
If you are being prosecuted then there are charges against you in a criminal file
The crown and police have a lot discretionary power with your treatment and your file. Crown is like prosecutor, not police.
Director of penal and criminal prosecutions, DPCP, prosecutor provincial boss, instruct and provide guidance for prosecutors. Other provinces have their own name.
Jury or judge acquit which means your innocent. Prosecutor can also withdraw charges "withdrawn" status.
Sentence are possible consequences of being guilty
Priors are prior criminal record
Law enforcement officer: immigration officers, police, youth protection agents, municipal inspectors, correctional officers etc.
Black, indigenous, racialized and migrant communities, people who are known to the police, are targeted more by police, meaning police also violate their human rights more often. Sentenced more harshly than whites. Drug laws are historically created to target these groups.
Systematic bias: those with authority, even incl teachers, have explicit or implicit bias against certain communities
Racial profiling: officers target certain groups of ppl and postal codes more.
Anti gang squad, anti gun squad, anti radicalization are dog whistles for targetting minorities. Also includes applying additional surv eillance to target group.
During say a anti gun police raids, they can prosecute the raided for any illegal drugs the cops find. This results in potential criminals fearing to call the police bc if there is an investigation the police could nail the caller. If a sex worker has HIV and does not disclose their HIV status it counts as sexual assault, meaning if a John beats her up, risky to call the cops on him.
If have PR status and found guilty could be deported/removal. Some drug addicts only are PRs.
Anytime you speak to police you are making a statement. Crown can use these statements to convince someone else to plead guilty or convict. Your silence cannot incriminate but your statement might.
Police allowed to lie. Will do anything really to get a statement. Don't react to any of their behaviours, comments, or questions since that can be a statement. Try to remain silent. But many ppl do not have the privilege of remaining quiet, ex that can worsen police behavior.
Rehearse how to speak to police without providing any incriminating statements if you think you want to make a statement.
Police cannot arrest you if they don't identity at least 1 offence. On arrest they give undertaking paper or hold you until court date.
After released by police, prosecutor might decide not to prosecute. If police are holding you after arrest your 1st court date happens after 1-3 days. Sentencing may be postponed until therapy/school/work etc is complete.
1st court case is usually 1-3 days after arrest, then bail applies for the 2nd court date in like months/yrs. When released after arrest can be released without conditions.
If plead guilty with lawyer, lawyer can negotiate to have certain charges withdrawn
Cannabis act covers cannabis.
You can be acquitted of 1 charge while charged with the others
Willing blindness: you are supposed to inquire about the nature of a delivery you are driving if the package seems suspicious.
4(1) Possession, "Simple possession": to prosecute evidence needed: knowledge/willful blindness that substance in your possession and knowledge/willful blindness that it is a controlled substance named in the cdsa and measure of control/consent to their possession Law requires measurable quantity of drug, ex residue in a bag If there are drugs in your car and you are the driver or passenger, it cannot be the only reason for a conviction. Possession - drugs don't have to be on you. Willful blindness - you ought to have know you have the drugs in your possession Knowledge of your possession is proven by it's location (hidden or in sight), whether police have statements by you or others. Schedule 4 substances and lower cannot be found guilty of simple possession, but can be found guilty of other offences like trafficking
Double doctoring/ 4(2) obtaining a practitioner: asked dr for prescription or drugs without disclosing that info about the drug that u received in the last 30 days. Both for personal usage and for dealing. Uncommon charge.
5(1) Drug trafficking, trafficking in substance: proof must prove that you did 1 of the following or that you offered to do one of the following: - Selling drug or prescription: incl if the sale is not completed. - helping or encouraging someone to buy/sell. Bringing the buyer to the seller and if without this help the sale would never have taken place. Introducing a potential buyer to a seller is sometimes prosecutable depending on the judge. It sounds like it might only be an offense if accused works for the dealer and arranges the meeting between buyer and seller, but not clear. - giving drugs for free or for "free" is still trafficking - cannot administer illegal drugs even if asked too - if transporting home for personal consumption only, simple possession. But if or the purposes of sharing with friend, roommate then trafficking. Exceptions: inside safe injection site for drug checking purposes. Buying doesn't seem to be trafficking. Selling a prescription (the paper) is trafficking - Max sentence is life
5(2) Possession for the purposes of trafficking: simple possession + purpose/intent of trafficking. Large quantity helpful to prosecutor but not required. Presence of measuring, packaging equipment, multiple bagged quantities, large amounts of cash, notebooks can be evidence. - Max sentence is life
Drug trafficking: sale, gift, administrating drug, transport of drug.
Case study: Nat brought cdsa drug to share with client at motel. Client overdoses and Nat has to call 911. Police show up too. She admits to cops that she bought the drugs and that he asked for them so the cops know it was his idea. She is convicted of trafficking.
6(1) Import (or export) and 6(2) possession for the purpose of import (or export): all must be proven: Bought drugs/organized their entry into Canada Knowledge/willful blindness/recklessness that controlled substance Intention to import the substance Bring drugs or organize their entry into the country: happens as soon as drug enters/leaves any country and continues until drug arrives at final destination in Canada in a person's possession. If in transit through mtl and Toronto offence has take place in both locations. You don't have to have been personally transporting the drugs or even present at the place of entry to be charged. If police intercept the drugs in transit, irrelevant to defense. Crown doesnt have to prove you know the precise nature of the drug. Recklessness: ex accused caught with 2 bottles of wine that contain dissolved cocaine, since the cocaine amount was large, the producer prob wouldn't give this bottle to a blind courier. Behaviour following importation may provide convincing evidence of participation in offence: meeting with ppl, receiving calls of short duration at late hours, coded language by accused+accomplices, using public telephones to talk to "accomplices" despite owning a cell. After drug arrives to final destination, other ppl cannot be prosecuted for "possession for purposes of import" Police are specifically looking for fake suitcases on flights being carried by women 30s-40s
7(1) Production of substance, 7.1(1) possession, sale, etc for use in production or trafficking: production - manufacturing, harvesting, growing, etc. Offence includes offering to produce drug Evidence must prove you have some control over location/operation of production: cannot be convicted for simply being in a place of production. Police usually do detailed surveillance against accused first. Warrants for interception of private communication, track/trace (surveillance device on car), garbage searches, search warrants Police usually find out when purchase of large or suspicious purchases that are commonly used in drug production.
If police are at your house for a DV investigation and they see a baggie of what looks like heroin, can result in arrest.
Possession means: you have it on your personal possession, you know a friend is holding it for you, you know that you have hidden it somewhere. If your friend is holding a cdsa drug for you and they know it's cdsa drug, then you both are in possession. If the cops raid your grandma's house and you stores cdsa drugs there, she will not be convicted.
Knowledge of the drug: you just have to know it's a controlled substance, not what it is specifically to be convicted.
Judges sentence more harshly depending on drug type. Ex if there are current anti meth events or media, worse sentence.
Possession of methadone/opioid agonist treatments (OAT): - Health care providers don't need permission to prescribe, administer, sell/provide methadone to patients. Patients need a ordeprescription. To own methadone must be a patient or health care provider basically.
Initial meeting with a judge after arrest is a bail hearing.
To get bail: - better odds if minor crime - have $ via bail or signing a "recognizance" that says you'll pay bail. Get both back later on. A "surety" (friend) can pay for you. - fixed address that isn't a homeless shelter - ties to the community - family, legal job, studies, community engagement - proof of how will support self legally - having a friend reserve you a spot in rehab - indigenous
Conditions can prevent you from owning a cell phone.
Causing death by criminal negligence and manslaughter for giving drugs to someone who overdosed. rare. Can be convicted if you and a friend are shooting up together and you shoot them up at their request and then they die. Accidentally bringing a drug that contains fentanyl and your friend dies. Harsher punishment if accused is much older than decreased or if deceased is not much of a drug user.
Crown can withdraw some charges but keep others.
A guilty plea only may help improve sentencing. If pleading guilty better to do it before the trial.
Didn't type up schedule 1-7 drugs pg 38, 39 Schedule 1: opioids, meth, Adderall, ghb, methadone, MDMA Schedule 2: synthetic cannabinoids, most cannabis is regulated by the cannabis act now. 3: shrooms, lsd 4: zolpidem, steroids, benzodiazepines 5: not in the book if it exists 6: ingredients to manufacture drugs 9: manufacturing equipment ex machines to fill pills
Selling other medications like idk ibuprofen could be a civil matter where the gov might issue a large fine against you and failure to pay the fine results in conviction.
Sentencing - court determines punishment, ex prison, fines
If your lawyer and prosecutor agree on a specific sentence during a guilty plea, judge will most likely accept that, but judge doesn't have to.
Types of sentences: un/conditional discharge, fine, suspended sentence with probation and conditions (ex community service, rehab) imprisonment in institution or in community.
Being guilty can have other effects like travel ban to USA.
Sentencing considers: type and context of offence, circumstances of arrest, criminal record/priors, first charge for this kind of offence, current situation, level of detail and assurances in rehab plan, are there victims, prosecuted as summary or indictable offense. Unofficially judge considers bias like being anti-sex worker.
Prosecuted for either indictable offense or summary offense. sometimes the law decides which, sometimes prosecutor does. Determines max sentence and severity judge will serve.
Indictable offense - more serious. Some crimes are always indictable. Summary - less serious
Aggravating factors - reasons court gives harsher sentence: - Not having a drug addiction at the time of offence - priors - commited offence for financial gain - breach of trust - etc
Mitigating factors - reasons court gives better sentence: - guilty plea - been in drug rehab if had drug addiction at the time of the crime (get letters from case workers) - age - remorse - community involvement - etc
Mandatory minimum sentences, Mms.
Since 2012 Mms higher and a bunch of drugs moved up in schedule
Gladue report: - optional for accused. - affects all parts of court - prepared by some org - for anyone who identifies as indigenous
Impact of race and culture assessment IRCA: - A few provinces have this - gladue for black ppl - judge can legally ignore it - exists bc black ppl have faced a lot of adversity
Stimga = negative stereotypes
Ppl who use drug usually get worse treatment from justice system.
If you participate in a treatment program pre sentencing, it can reduce your sentence oand delay legal proceedings. Court needs to recognize its value and legitimacy. Court can also force you to attend a program of their choosing which can be like prison-lite. You can propose your plan to the court.
Special tribunals in mtrl regulate the provincial court treatment programs.
Many sex workers gain access to new resources and opportunities which can allow them change their condition and protect themselves. Anti sex worker laws deny them of this and their agency.
Drug addicts and sex workers are constantly stimgatized especially if they do sex work and use drugs.
Sex workers: Try to represent as a victim for a reduced sentence: - apologize and show remorse about your sex work - talk about how you're a victim of sex work - allow the court to paint your sex work as all the problems in your life - make no claim about the useful of sex work in your life - be poor, get exploited by clients/pimps - when the court tells you to stop talking to other sex workers, drug users, clients, do it.
If you are between 12-17 YO: - youth criminal justice act or director of youth protection applies to you, 1 or the other, you can sorta pick - "very serious" crimes you're prosecuted as an adult, so public criminal record - if an adult works with you on a crime it worsen the adults sentence
Police can charge you for possession of a weapon of they find a scissors or pocket knife
If police find you with a gun, they can easily give you 3 yrs. Weapons bans are 10 yrs.
Immigrants: - try to get either type of discharge (conditional or unconditional), that's the same as not guilty in immigration law. - refugees without Canadian citizenship can be deported - if you don't have PR, a hybrid offense or 2 summary offenses can get you deported - PR: receive a 6 month sentence or guilty of a crime that has max sentence of 10 yrs. - with an expired visa, cops database doesn't have that kind of info, but they could call Canadian Border Safety Agency (CBSA)
worse charges for drug trafficking if offence happens near school or other place frequented by minors, or on correctional facility grounds, or in a gang, setting traps, using someone else's building, creating hazards in a residential neighborhood
Indictable offence usually don't have fines associated with them.
Cannabis act (CA) - distribution and trafficking are the same thing - having on possession for sale is illegal - public place: public has assess too and any vehicle located in public view - generally refers to dried cannabis, usually 30g or equivalent
Illicit cannabis is illegally obtained cannabis. It doesn't have the gov stamp of approval
Some ppl give a fake name to cops bc risk of being identified is worse than the risk of obstruction. If you give police a fake address, they might mail court papers to that address and you won't be able to receive them. If you give the cops a fake name and need to retract it, try to say it's a "nickname but my legal name is x"
Recording cops: - legal for you to record cops unless property owner has rules against it, recording actually does interfer with the investigation - police may tell you that it's illegal. Might charge with obstruction, or say you're breaking like privacy, take your recording device, demand you erase recording, say they're seizing your phone bc it contains evidence - if police seize your phone, they could find incriminating evidence to charge you or someone else with another crime
Frisking: - cops can legally if u are arrested. Only supposed to if they thinking you have a dangerous item on you and are a threat to someone's safety. If you get upset this increases the odds they'll search you. If they are searching you for weapons not supposed to search you for other things like drugs, phones, tattoos etc. They can use this to search for needles to identify you as a drug user - searching you for evidence of the crime they say you committed - if you're temporarily detained/being questioned same thing - if you give them permission to search you or your property, they will. To prevent this say loudly "I do not consent to the search" and "je ne consens pas a une fouille" (jeh neh koh sehn pah ah oon foo yeh) - if an illegal search results in say drug charges, the drug charges could be withdrawn - if unlawful arrest (ex police brutality) then the subsequent search might be illegal
Seizures: - can seize items in a warrant. Ask to see and read the warrant. - if the warrant is to search a location, must have that address, specific area they can search, and list items theyre searching for - ask cops for a copy of the report identifying the seized items and where the items are being held Can seize items without warrant if they think it's related to a crime, ex: - weapons that may have been used in the offense, Items that provide evidence like phones, scales, note books, items obtained through criminal offenses like money from drug selling, They can seize items before any arrests While you're detained they will frequently go through your phone Note down: everything they seize, when, whom, where you were at the time. Careful about "obstructing" police while you do this, record officer name, patrol car number, badge number and other identitying info, knowing seizing location helpful for trying to get your things back, if an item is evidence you won't get it back til the end of the case, if it's considered proceeds of a crime you'll likely never get it back, illegal things you will never get back
While detained, you can try asking a guard or lawyer if you can use your phone to get phone numbers, usually they'll say no. Guards will be able to read your phone while this happens. Memorize the numbers of potential sureties.
Don't have incriminating evidence about yourself or your associates
Drug use equipment: - can legally distribute unused drug equipment - if you have drugs on you, having sterile drug equipment can be used as additional evidence against you - may still be seized by security - If you're hanging out with a drug users and you're searched and they find sterile needles, they may then search your companion
Being detained: - physical detention is like being cuffed - psychological - they tell you you're not free to leave/act like you can't leave - can detain for: you're connected to a crime, being a witness, victim, breaking a bylaws, warrant however discretionary power means they might not for a warrant, being present at a raid - technically don't have to identify yourself, but police will likely arrest you for obstruction - police have to tell you why
Being stopped and questioned: - just bc you are in the area a crime took place, doesn't mean they can stop and question you legally unless you match suspect description. They will anyway if they want
Warrants apply country wide
Arrested: - cops must tell you what you're being arrested for - they'll let you go with an "appearance notice" that may include conditions - you'll receive a "summons" in the mail is really an appearance notice - keep you in detention for a few days until a judge sees you - If you have kids, get a criminal lawyer and family law lawyer - if you're an immigrant criminal lawyer and immigration lawyeexpert - arrest warrant: must have name of person to arrested
You can negotiate conditions, like if banned from an area but have dr appointments there. Lawyer can do this.
If cops question you or tell you to go with them: - ask "am I free to leave? Am I being detained or arrested" if unclear ask again, if still unclear make motions to leave and leave if they don't stop you - if detained: "what am I being detained for?" - if arrested: "what am I being arrested for?" -- you have the right to ask and to speak to a lawyer - technically illegal for them to detain you due to trying to bring you to a shelter or rehab etc
Police legally have to wear badge number and name tag and have to identify themselves if you ask them to
After abusive police interaction, note down: - when, where event happened - held anywhere? Conditions of where you were held? Location? - officer names, numbers, car numbers - what was searched? When, where, how did it happen? - who was searched? How and where were they searched? Name and badge number of cop. - Dmges? take pics - who was detained? We're they offered an interpreter of needed? Do they speak the same language as the officer? - give all the info to lawyer
If cop grabs you and you pull away they might try to charge you with assault of an officer
Prep for dealing with police: - anyone in my party break a law? Any warrants? Youth protection involved with anyone? - if we're stopped by police, are we all staying silent, all giving the same info? Other plan? - are cops targetting me, the neighborhood? - if cops targetting someone else, can I walk away? - is my hangout area heavily surveilled? Is my party heavily surveilled? - if I have id, does it reflect the name I'm gonna tell the cops? What happens if an officer shows up who knows me? - how to respond to cops if my kids are with me? - condition breach? - am I carrying anything arrestable? Plan if they search me? - are all my incriminating items hidden from plain view? - what police consequences is most harmful to me? What am I most concerned about? What am I willing to do to avoid these? - can I role play with someone?
Good Samaritan overdose act (Good Sam law): - If someone is overdosing and you call 911, police legally aren't supposed to arrest you or anyone else there, incl overdosee for simple possession or simple possession condition breaches - everything else they can arrest you for. And they are known to use the opportunity to extract arrests Consider: throwing away/hiding your illegal drugs, tell others there you called 911 so they can leave, tell dispatch that area is safe so maybe police won't come, should I leave and get someone else to stay or leave a note on the overdosees,
Security guards, transit officers, etc: - no legal requirement to speak with them - they can citizens arrest you physically legally if they see you doing it - cannot legally search you - can legally use reasonable force to remove you from a building - Montreal public transit security can become special constables easily and can detain and arrest ppl suspected of criminal activity on mtl transit. Can access police database. - All public transit security can fine and issues tickets related to their public transit. You're required to provide them name, address, dob
Driving a vehicle: - if you are driving, police have more authority, like asking for ID, breathalyze - police can stop vehicles bc: see a driving violation, believe the vehicle is related or a crime, routine police blockade for like drunk drivers passing - often use license plates to determine if the car was stolen or a getaway vehicle or whatnot - police pulling over ppl in high crime areas for no other reason is illegal - important to not have knife, drug residue on plain view - if you're too shaky, pink eyes, they know lol in the car as drug dealers, they're more likely to find you suspicious - after arresting driver, they can legally search your vehicle if it's related to why they arrested you, ex they arrest you for drugs and then they can then search the vehicle for more drugs - more likely to search your vehicle if you're wearing a bulletproof vest - can search the vehicle legally for "safety", they see you have weapons charges and then they search the vehicle or if they have reason to fear for imminent evidence loss, fear imminent threat to someone's safety - legally easier for police to search your car then pat you down. - police can only legally ask driver for ID unless they turn the stop into an investigation in which case they can then ask everyone in the vehicle for ID - sleeping in your vehicle: take keys out of ignition, sleep in the back. Police may still harrass you and say it's in relation to criminal charges
Investigations: - begin for any reason, even via anonymous tip line calls - often police with surveill and if they see suspicious activity, they get a warrant
Residential location: - greatest privacy from police here legally, however: if owner unknown, abandon, frequented by marginalized ppl, police more likely to invade - when can they enter your house: generally police cannot enter without a warrant unless the person who answers the door consents, if they think someone inside is about to commit a crime or that a crime is in progress, in hot pursuit and the runner enters the house, if they think someone inside's life is in danger - if you don't consent to them entering say: I do NOT consent to you entering, je ne consens pas a ce que vous rentrez (jeh neh Kon sen pah ah seh voo rehn-tray) - can get warrants to enter for unpaid tickets, money owed to revenue Quebec - police search your home when: someone being arrested there and police think something is a danger to other potential occupants, police fear imminent lose of evidence, medical emergencies (Medicare card, suicide notes) - if they see something suspicious (drugs, scales, large sums of cash) in plain view (from your door, or anything they see if you allow them to enter. Even if you let them in, they're not supposed to search your house or roam to other rooms) they can seize it. - an arrest warrant isn't enough to search a place
Hotel/motel: for your room, generally same rules as residential, but a bit less privacy - for public areas, no privacy benefits - if cops get keys from hotel staff or permission from hotel staff they'll use that to enter your room - often will say the housekeeping staff saw something suspicious
House keepers: - if they see drugs, lots of condoms, paraphernalia, sex work publications or drug publications they may contact police. There is an increasing trend for this happening under the guise of human trafficking prevention esp if you're a marginalized/racialized women who uses drugs. - they are allowed to enter your room
Hospital: - usually won't provide the cops with much info unless they have a warrant for a patient. Sometimes even will not let cops into your hospital room - will contact law enforcement. Usually have low threshold to attempt to kick out ppl as it relates to arguments, raised voices, disruptions - if you are with a patient, hospital more likely to provide info on you to cops, so careful what info you give cops - as a patient u may have to change clothes and that could lead to dropping suspicious items out of your pocket - if you go to the hospital with a friend, tell them to stfu about providing info about you - bringing a friend can help by taking notes, advocating for you. Ideally your friend isn't know to the cops, can stay calm.
Supervised injection site, SIS: - inside cannot be charged with simple possession. Cannot give to others or administer to others. - staff cannot be charged with trafficking for providing the venue or material facilitating the drug usage. Same with staff checking drugs, which would normally be trafficking - police can do whatever outside of the building. If arrested for simple possession, could tell lawyer you were on your way to the sis/on your way back home - if you are investigated in relation to a sis, make sure your lawyer speaks with the sis bc your lawyer prob doesn't know the basics of the sis. - to use a sis, usually don't need to provide real name or info. If you give your real info, easier for medical staff at hospital to look you up if needed
Speaking to police: - if arrested cops suppose to stop asking you questions once you request to speak to a lawyer, but they will often still ask you questions anyway. After you speak to a lawyer they have the right to question you again - they will attempt to provoke you into speaking - interrogator will ask random questions to build rapport (ex personal life, interests). Will often promise or claim to help you if you talk to them - legally can lie about most things. Ex evidence, other ppl's statements, "if you leave now we can't help you later", "if you cooperate now you will get a more lenient sentence". - don't react to their questions
Initial appearance in from of a judge before bail hearing: - you appear before a judge within a day. If it's a weekend or holiday then after that. Have a lawyer come with you. This is when you plea guilty or not guilty - can try to exchange 1 release condition for another, discuss this with your lawyer beforehand - if you receive a fine, some organizations can you get a payment plan. Community service can also be used to pay off a fine.
Bail hearing - you can schedule the meeting with a judge at a later date to give you more time to prepare for how to make bail - usually happens within 3 days - prepare in advance how to get released on bail - Prosecutor will often argue you shouldn't be released bc: you won't attend your next court date, you pose a risk to the public, public will lose faith or you're released. - your lawyer will likely argue: you have a fixed address (can be friends, family), will obey your bail conditions - sometimes to make bail you need: bail money/recognizance document saying you'll pay latesurety. Surety should have legal job and no criminal record. Show that you have routine, like school, clubs, job, family. Can have someone who ideally does not have a record come testify to your character. Proof of income. Someone to book you a spot in rehab. - if the court takes your passport, photocopy the important pages
Cdsa and cannabis act are frderal criminal laws, but are often prosecuted by provincial/municipal forces
Law reform/Stella: The term decriminalization is getting more widely used and the meaning is recinding. Stella says decriminalization of drugs and sex work is a necessary first step to guarantee human rights. Drug use is not always an illness or problem. Abstinence is not the only way and thinking it's the only way is harmful. Drug sellers should be be categorized as bad ppl. If 1 law is repealed cops will often just target a sigmatized group with a new law. Alternative punishment instead of prison is still not decriminalization, aka Portugal model. For things like cannabis, even tho self possession of an amount is legal, you still can face police surveillance, unwanted police contact, trouble with landlord, etc. Individual prosecution directors, police departments can set guidelines, but those are not related to laws. Guidelines can say more or less punishment.
