In the past two years, I have seen over 50 kinds of dragons, each with different patterns and colours, very beautiful, more vibrant than those in historical records, and elegant in posture. These special images have been documented and have become symbols of dragons in different cultures.

Cabinet approves military-technical cooperation agreement with Czech Republic

The Government of Armenia on March 30 approved the agreement on military-technical cooperation with Czech Republic which was signed in 2019.
The agreement envisages cooperation in military education, defense industry, military history and museology, as well as participation in peacekeeping missions abroad. It will be sent to the Constitutional Court to determine its compliance with the constitution, and in the event of receiving a positive response the agreement will be submitted to parliament for ratification.

Border guards to take over the protection of road connecting Lachin Corridor to Armenia – PM

Azerbaijan has advanced troops 100 to 300 meters in five points, Armenia’s National Security Service says

After August 2022, a part of the road connecting the Lachin Corridor to Armenia was still passing through the Azerbaijani territory after the Kornidzor Bridge. That part of the road and its adjacent territory were controlled by the Russian peacekeeping forces.
According to the agreements reached yesterday between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the border guards of the two countries were to be deployed on both sides of the border along the above-mentioned section in the last days of March.
According to the NSS, there has been “misreading of maps” and in some places, the Azerbaijani side, without waiting for pre-arranged adjustments, started positioning and carrying out engineering works.

Speaker Alen Simonyan might need second surgery on arm

Lithuanian officials have expressed their readiness to support Armenia in the security sector

Turkey approves Finland NATO membership bid

Patricia Schneider was a 25-year-old waitress that disappeared from an unincorporated part of Riverside County called Pedley. She got off work from the Palamino Station in the early morning hours of Sunday August 1, 1982. Having car problems, she stopped at a Circle K mini market near the cross streets of Limonite and Van Buren. She was seen talking with two men with Sandy hair who were apparently assisting her with her car. She called her boyfriend twice while at the mini mart with the last call being around 3 am. She has never been seen since. However, her car was found about 2 miles away from the mini-market near Van Buren and Dolittle in the city of Riverside. It had been set ablaze. Police found her purse in the car.
Patricia was survived by her mother who lived in Banning California and did not have a phone and her aunt who lived in Laguna Hills California.
Patricia’s disappearance has at times been associated with the Disappearance and murder of Dorothy Jane Scott (1980, Orange California). The primary reasons for this is that the cars of both women were found burning hours after their disappearance. Additionally, a story about Patricia showed up in the Orange County register, due to her aunt and friends living in Laguna Hills.
What I have not previously seen noted is that Patricia was not the only disappearance on Limonite Avenue on that weekend in 1982.
On Friday, July 30, 1982, at around 4 pm, two miles from the mini market Patricia was last seen at ten-year-old April Irene Lamont was kidnapped while riding her bike to the Stater Brothers grocery store on the corner of Limonite and Etiwanda in the unincorporated part of Riverside County called Mira Loma. A search would be conducted for April and her bicycle would be found four miles North near Etiwanda and the 60 freeway in an industrial area called the Mira Loma Space Center. The following morning her body would be found dumped behind a Mobil gas station on Valley Blvd and the 60 Freeway in the unincorporated part of Riverside County called Rubidoux. The cause of death was believed to be asphyxia due to strangulation.
Media reports of April’s murder quickly disappear with only a blurb appearing the San Bernardino Sun, a few articles appearing in the Press Enterprise, and a couple of articles in The Record, a small newspaper published in the area.
Despite many search efforts, I have never been able to find any stories regarding a resolution to April’s murder case in the media. I have also been unable to locate any court records regarding anyone being charged with the April's. However, April’s murder does not appear on any of the unsolved sites.
At first, I thought this may have been because of the father’s attitude as portrayed by an interesting quote in one of the articles. It was the only quote from a family member which I found. A reporter apparently caught him on his lawn within a day or two of the murder. The reporter quoted the father as saying, “I had three children. Now I have two.”
I can only interpret this as being the words of a broken man. Based on witnesses statements there is no doubt that April was abducted by a stranger, so the father would not have been under suspicion. As the father did not appeal for the perpetrator to be caught or have any other cries for justice we have to assume he simply accepted the fact that nothing would return his daughter to him.
Reading through the articles of the time, it seems the unincorporated areas of Riverside County known as Rubidoux, Indian Hills, Glen Avon, Pedley, and Mira Loma were striving to become a booming city. So there may have been reason for the media not to emphasis the unsolved murder of a 10 year old girl. However, efforts to become a city seemed to be foiled by a scandal called the Stringfellow Acid Pits, which involved the dumping of toxic materials in the Jurupa Mountains which was found to have leaked into the Pyrite Creek. Today, all of those communities are known as the City of Jurupa Valley, which was incorporated in 2010.
So, the question remains, why is April’s murder not a cold case listed like that of Patricia’s?
I believe the reason is because authorities know who killed April and it is highly likely the same person killed Patricia as well.
In 1982, there was a child rapist abducting and sexually assaulting young girls in Los Angeles, Orange, and San Diego counties. He was known as the Lost Dog Rapist, because he would ask children to help him look for his lost dog and then snatch them. He would take them for a long ride in his car and then sexual assault them in the car or a motel room. Later releasing them by dropping them off at some other location.
Though he had been preying on girls for some time in the area, as things seemed to heat up in Los Angeles and Orange counties, he moved to San Diego County. There he picked up a girl and kept her overnight in a motel. However, he slipped up as the girl was able to lead the police back to the motel, where he had taken her.
Within a couple of month’s Los Angeles Police Investigators would fly to Kansas and working with Investigators there, discovered that the address used to register at the Mission Valley Motel in the San Diego was one that had been frequented by a man who had been arrested for indecent exposure and then jumped bail. Shortly after that arrest in 1977, a series of rapes occurred in the Kansas City area. They involve home brake-ins as well as at least one rape on the streets. Most of the victims were girls around 9 to 12 years old, but one was 17 and another 20 years old. Victim identified the photo of the man who had skipped bail as their attacker. The name he was known as was Roscoe James Short.
Soon, a connection was made to an incident in Albuquerque New Mexico in 1974. There a man identified as James Henry Ginn Jr. who was also known as Patrick James Kerwin was arrested after being pulled over for a traffic infraction. As the officer was speaking with Kerwin, two women approached them and indicated the man had just attempted to abduct one of them. One of the women said that she was leaving her waitressing job when Kerwin grabbed her and put a knife to her thought. He forced her into the passenger side of her car, but she was able to escape when the car would not start. The second woman came to her rescue as she screamed and so the man fled to another car where he screeched out of the parking lot causing the near by officer to pull him over. Investigators there connected Ginn with a number of other attack on girls aged 14 to 16 years old. Eventually, Ginn known there as Kerwin would be charged with seven counts of aggravated assault, five of sodomy, and one count of kidnapping for crimes he was identified to have committed in the area. According to media reports, Kerwin would escape prosecution after unwittingly being released from a psychiatric hospital.
Between his activities in Kansas City and Albuquerque in 1976, Ginn would be arrested in Azusa California under the name Patrick Kerwin as part of a drug bust involving 4,400 pounds of marijuana. The drugs were found when police responded to reports of a burglary. There they found 400 crates of onions each with 11 pounds of marijuana hidden under the onions. The marijuana had a street value of more than $250,000. Ginn was arrested with two other accomplices at the time.
In 1979, Ginn was active in Corpus Chirsti, Texas where a 10 year old girl was raped. In that case, a man and a woman lured the girl to the car telling her they needed her help looking for a lost dog. They then took the girl to a motel in Victoria where she was tied to a bed, blind folded and gagged. The man then raped and sodomized her as the woman took photograph of the act. The girl was then dropped off at a restaurant back in Corpus Christi.
In the late 70’s and early 80’s, Ginn would be active in Denver Colorado, where he was known as the Baby sitter rapist. Twenty-two attacks on girls ranging from age 4 to 15 would be identified. In these attacks he would force his way into a home where he would assault babysitters and the children they were watching.
In May of 1982, LAPD Chief Darryl Gates would announce they had identified the Lost Dog Rapist as Roscoe James Short. At the time, they listed a number of aliases the man was known to used and stated they did not know what his true name was, but that they were sure who was committing the rapes. They also indicated the individual was a known drug trafficker. Within a couple of weeks, the LAPD would indicate that the man’s true identity was James Henry Ginn Jr.
Attacks had gone quiet in Los Angeles, Orange and Sand Diego Counties after the March 1982 abduction of the girl in the San Diego area. That same month, March, a 9-year-old girl named Jenny Kao was murdered at a Pasadena Mall while selling candy and the Lost Dog Rapist was considered a suspect. Another girl was attacked in Venice, a Beach area of Los Angeles, but some of the details of the attacks were different, so police were skeptical.
After the May announcement of Short being the suspect and the clarification that his real name was James Henry Ginn Jr. things were quiet in Los Angeles, Orange, and San Diego Counties in the months of June and July. However, in Riverside County April would be murdered on July 30th and Patricia would disappear 36 hours later on August 1st.
On August 18, 1982, Ginn would be arrested by the FBI in a restaurant in Denver Colorado. By October, Ginn would be charged with 37 counts in four states and through a plea bargain he would be sentenced to 83 ½ years to be served in Colorado.
So, recapping what we know about Ginn:
- He is a rapist that has been active since at least 1961.
- He committed a series of rapes in multiple cities.
- He used different methods of operation, including abducting children from the street and forcing women into their own car.
- Has attacked waitresses as they left their jobs.
- He is known to have attached girls and young women.
- He is known to have had accomplices in abductions.
- Possibly involved in child pornography.
- Involved in drug trafficking.
- Skipped bail repeatedly and seemed to have a knack for alluding prosecution.
- He used over 10 aliases.
- On a couple of occasions, he was described as having blonde hair, though his hair was brown with gray in it.
When investigating the Dorothy Scott murder, I uncovered four men who were involved in a kidnapping and rape spree in Orange County at the time of her abduction in 1980. Those four men were involved in sexually assaulting seven young women, mostly teenagers, raping them and releasing them. For their crimes they were sentenced to 400 years in prison. It is curious to me that a man involved in the molestation of so many children, with a knack for escaping justice would get such a sweet deal in comparison. A deal that would have him released after 40 years, allowing him to be free today. I tend to wonder if some additional information came along with Ginn’s confession as he was clearly involved in organized crime of some fashion.
Interestingly, enough a little over a week before Ginn’s plea bargain would be announced, four agencies would raid a property in the unincorporated part of Riverside County called Glen Avon where they would find over $100,000 in stolen cars. According to media reports, they uncovered the location when a truck load of soap bound for Burbank (neighbors Van Nuys where three of the Los Angeles attacks occurred), was reported stolen from Colton. When the incident was reported to the Riverside FBI office, an agent there remembered the truck as being one he had seen at a Glen Avon address. It does not say why the Special Agent had been checking out the address in Glen Avon. They used that information to obtain a warrant for the property, where they discover a chop shop of stolen vehicles and other property.
It is my belief that the murder of April and the disappearance of Patricia may likely be the work of Ginn. Although Ginn had not been identified as a murderer, it is very possible that with the heat on him he could have opted to kill April rather than leave a witness in the area he was hiding out. It is also possible he involved accomplices that preferred no witnesses remain. April also could have accidentally been asphyxiated as part of the act. As for Patricia, it is likely her remains are somewhere between Riverside and Denver Colorado.

here r my stats and demographics
I am a mixed ( african american and white) female from Texas hoping to major in general psychology :D
UW GPA: 3.83 abt after this year and my Weighted GPA is a 97.6 on a numeric skill very confusing but I think it’s abt 4.2 maybe ? i had an extreme upward trends in grades tho and am the top 10% of my class ,i had blood cancer ( t cell lymphoma) during this time and the pandamenic and it was pretty serious so ofc grades slipped but i had a very extreme upward trend bc of distanced learning
Coursework: 11 APS so far (APHUG (4) and AP World (4) APES (4) AP Lang (4) and APUSH (4) im taking 5 APS this year AP Stats , AP Lit, AP Psych, AP Gov, and AP Economics, and AP Physics 1 self study so 11 in total by the end of hs :) and I have taken 2 dual enrollment courses in French and have taken at least 6 other honors Also my school tremendously limited us and took away the IB program and only allowed us to take two APS in freshmen and sophomore year and then only en stated two other higher level classes that i did not take 😢 bc of scheduling test scores: 1540 SAT(800 reading and grammar and 740 math)

I am so glad you clicked my post!! I am a 26 year old female originally from the North East. I moved here a little bit after COVID happened so it has been really hard to make friends here in Texas. Or, friends in general. I am usually shy and introverted but I have been working on fixing that.
Anyways, I work full time as a licensed therapist, but I work in Law Enforcement. Long story that I can explain another time... haha. I like playing video games but I haven't been playing much lately as I have lost interest. I built a gaming PC and I have a Nintendo Switch. I enjoy going to new laid back restaurants and burger joints. I love coffee shops too for some odd reason. Parks are my favorite and I used to hike a lot up north, but not much now as it is relatively flat which is a bummer. I also like to work out. I listen to all kinds of music but generally enjoy rock and country.

WARNING: SPOILERS FOR THE LOST WORLD: JURASSIC PARK AHEAD, AS WELL AS FOR JURASSIC WORLD MOVIES. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
Jurassic Park is widely considered by audiences as one of Spielberg's best films ever made, and I would holistically agree: Jurassic Park completely altered the trajectory of the filming landscape with revolutionary CG effects, amazing practical effects, a likable and well rounded cast, and complicated ethical questions about overstepping with scientific progress. Jurassic Park completely upended the film industry as well as reinvigorating the fields of computer generated imagery, paleontology, and genetics in the public eye.
I don’t think I have to dig too deep into why Jurassic Park is such an exceptional film that’s arguably one of the best films ever made. Yet often in the shadow of this masterpiece lie five Jurassic franchise sequels, which never truly match up to the revolutionary first film in substance or meaning. I think most criticisms towards Jurassic Park III, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, and Jurassic World: Dominion are valid as these films are all mediocre action films with very poor storytelling. People seem to positively reflect upon the first Jurassic World as a breath of fresh air, and I do agree it’s a solid popcorn blockbuster, but there’s some major issues with the story that really obscure my enjoyment of this film that are difficult for anyone seeking something with deeper meaning. There’s many plot contrivances and really dumb character decisions throughout the bulk of this movie’s runtime that really undermine some of the interesting ideas this film had (What if Jurassic Park worked and was safe? Would people actually just accept dinosaurs as a part of life and nothing too special?) There’s only one character in the Jurassic World movies with notable character development, which is Bryce Dallas Howard as Claire Dearing. I’ll even dishonorably mention Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom for removing a deleted scene where Iris, the babysitter for Lockwood, sacrifices herself to save the life of Maisie from the Indoraptor, which would have been the best sequence in the entire film and would have justified Owen and Claire abducting Maisie at the end of the film, because without this sequence Owen and Claire are literally child abductors and deny custody even though Iris is a clear candidate to take custody. I’ll also dishonorably mention Jurassic World: Dominion for retconning Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom in a way that makes Fallen Kingdom’s story make no sense (Like, if Lockwood and Hammond fought because Lockwood wanted to revive his daughter, then why is Lockwoods daughter still alive in Dominion until 10 years after Hammond died according to Jurassic World? Oh wait, they fought before Jurassic Park opened in 1993, so that means that they fought while Charlotte was 20 years old, over 15 years before Maisie was even born? This side plot literally makes the canon of the Jurassic World movies impossible)
However, I personally consider The Lost World: Jurassic Park as a film that is a really underrated film. Being the only other Jurassic film with John Williams and Spielberg’s involvement other than the first, the veteran crews associated with this film.really gave this movie their all. I’d go as far to say that the first 90 minutes on The Lost World are a really interesting character study into these different character groups. People complain about the main characters sabotaging the villains often, but the point is that all these characters are morally gray with some of the Ingen staff being likable and some of the protagonist characters being unlikeable. The cliff scene and tall grass sequence are on par with the best sequences of the first Jurassic film easily, and I really like Carr’s sacrificial death to save the lives of the protagonists showing just how uncaring the natural world of the Jurassic movies are for human life. The special effects in the Lost World are even better than the special effects in the first Jurassic Park, with more species that are often represented with animatronics that add to the believability and tangibility. The compsognathus, pachycephalosaurus, and stegosaurus all look stellar and fit right in. The stegosaurus attack sequence adds to the note that even the herbivores of this lost world are nothing to take for granted, which is one of the only flaws the original Jurassic Park had. The soundtrack has a really feral and distinct identity from the theme park aesthetic of the first Jurassic Park and I actually think this soundtrack overall is better than the first film’s. Yet the Lost World holds a dramatically different tone that makes it thematically distinct from the first film with the twists and turns of moral ambiguity of capitalizing on these extinct animals. Even some of the antagonists are a pleasure to watch, like Dieter being killed by the compsognathus or Roland Tembo as the master game hunter with the desire to prove himself as capturing the most dangerous game.
But even though I think most of this film is pretty great, I think the people with complaints against this film are justified. There is a gaping flaw with the film’s design that is inherently inseparable from conversations about this movie. The last 25 minutes of Lost World are really not well thought out or executed relative to the concept. If you need a refresher, this is when the Bull Tyrannosaurus somehow kills the people on the boat, gets let out, then goes on a rampage in San Diego. This final act mainly doesn't work due to 3 core issues:
1) Lack of character: Only 3 main characters from the rest of the film are present in the final act; Ludlow, Malcolm, and Harding. For some reason all of the other characters (both the Ingen survivors and protagonist survivors) are written from the final act completely. I understand why Kelly isn’t with Malcolm and Harding, but why isn’t Van Owen present when they both are? Why is Roland Tembo not present in the final act when the objective of the final act is to capture the bull tyrannosaur? It really feels like a missed opportunity to make the film feel more cohesively tied together.
2) Lack of reason: There’s a massive plot hole from this final act which doesn’t make sense in the context of the film. How does the crew of the boat die in the film? (In the real world it’s because they didn’t have time to film a new sequence and the raptors were originally going to be on the boat as well). Why do staff open up the cargo hold on the boat when they know the Tyrannosaurus is in there and let it out? Why does Ludlow tell Malcolm and Harding where the baby T.Rex is only to try and take it back later? Why do Ingen staff just let Malcolm take the baby Trex? Why Does Ludlow chase the baby Trex into the boat on his own? Why do the main characters even want to save the Tyrannosaurus Rex from being killed? The Lost World has peculiar writing moments before the final act, but the amount of times this happens in the final act is a lot higher than the rest of the film.
3) Lack of stakes: The stakes of the final act are mostly just preventing the Tyrannosaurus from causing property damage and getting itself killed. By the time that Ian and Sarah arrive with the baby, the father T.Rex already has killed people and animals for food and members of the national guard are on the way to euthanize the adult Rex. Malcolm likely doesn’t have a personal desire to save the Tyrannosaurus due to his past experiences and likely only attempts to save the T.Rex because Harding wants to. So the stakes are “Either the Tyrannosaurus goes back into containment on the boat or it dies.”. This also feels really disconnected from Ludlow, who after telling Malcolm and Harding where the baby Rex is so they can get it, proceeds to say he wants to keep the baby Rex and shoot the adult to attempt to salvage Jurassic Park San Diego.
The worst part is that I think conceptually, the idea of the dinosaurs breaking out into urban environments in the final act as a consequence of Ludlow’s actions is brilliant. If we had sequences of the Velociraptors ambushing civilians from a dark alley it would have added a lot of value to this climax. You could have added Van Owen’s character to break into Jurassic Park San Diego to retrieve the baby instead of staff just giving it to Malcolm and Harding, or allowed Roland Tembo to redeem himself by capturing the bull tyrannosaur a second time to save lives in the city. There’s a lot of ways this concept could have been better executed in ways where it wasn’t that really makes this climax stand out compared to the stellar action pieces and setting of the main body of the film.
And to anyone reading this who is thinking: “Hey! I saw this scene as a kid, I really liked it, I don’t see the problems here.” I also liked this scene when I was younger. However, I think adding a bit more depth or logic to the final act would really help its rewatchability, because as it stands, this climax makes The Lost World lose a lot of its interesting characterization investment in the earlier parts of the film.
TL:DR; The Lost World: Jurassic Park is a good movie with a really flat final act that strips away a lot of the depth and stakes the earlier parts of the film added while also not living up to its full potential on its own.
I’m sure other people agree with me, but I just wanted to get this off my chest. If you have anything to add about this movie or other Jurassic movies, I would be curious to hear what people think about the Lost World or the Jurassic franchise in general, or if there was anything I missed.
